Thank you for the review. I’m new to crochet and didn’t even know there were such things. Tension is the biggest hurdle for me. My wife tells me to practice, practice, and practice some more. I’m looking forward to see your other videos.

Thank you, I', glad you found it useful! Tension is definitely one of the hardest things to learn when starting out, practicing lots will certainly help you get a feel for it, as you develop muscle memory, you'll eventually do it without thinking. Remember to be aware of your tension not just as the yarn feeds into your work as you first start a stitch, but also at every stage of the stitch.

The last ring that you have there is what I use. I found that my tension is beautifully even using only one of the loops. I use the one closest to the back of my hand.

The 3rd one is a Norwegian knitting ring for stranded color work. You are supposed to use different color yarn through each loop.

@Bramble and Finch wow, you are too sweet! I was able to use the auto generated CC without issue. So I think you speak clear enough for the automated CC to recognize what you are saying. Just ensuring the music is really low as your mic makes you sound a little far away. I can't get over how considerate you are trying to be, it means a lot. Thank you!!!!

Thank you for the information...as a viewer I thought I would just pass along that the background music is quite distracting...I'm not sure if it's the beat compared to the speaker...or the volume..but I had to turn off the volume. Sorry....just my opinion.

Good info but, there’s a good reason why music isn’t played in a classroom while the teacher is speaking. Please decide whether you want to be listened to. If so, ditch the music. It’s distracting. Just a suggestion.

The problem is the volume. I suggest you buy a lava mic, they're not expensive and really improves the sound quality, and if you want to have music in the background make sure it is at a much lower volume than your voice. Plenty of CZcams have music in the background without being distracting.

Wish you could have one video every couple of weeks or once a month where subscribers could send photos of their work and you could tell them where they’ve gone wrong. For ex, my granny squares never look like everybody else’s. They are never as precise and geometric.

thank you for the feedback. It sounds like you might need to keep your tension a little tighter to make hold the shapes better? If you are crocheting loosely, sometimes reducing the number of chain stitches in some places can help keep everything a bit tighter (e.g. ch2 instead of ch3). Good luck!

@@karenmanetta9009 The best tip for grannies I ever got was to turn each round. This prevents the „vortex“ twisting it otherwise takes.
Another good tip was to only chain 1 between blocks. You could not chain at all, but that felt too crowded for me, so ch1 it is.

I've made a few with 20 gauge copper wire that I had on hand. I made a few coils around my ring mandrel, and I finished by forming a small "S" shape, through which I bring the working yarn. I wear it on my index/pointer finger, and I find it effective for regulating my tension.
