  • Let's have some fun watching Motley Crue's 'Livewire' music video in my first of a series of ridiculously fun 80's Hair Metal Reaction videos/ reviews. Apologies for my ridiculous over-use of the word "amazing" apparently it was my nervous-go-to & I regret it🤣
Make sure to check out the HD remaster of the entire, original music video on Motley Crue's official channel here: • Motley Crue - Live Wir...
And watch their feature biopic "The Dirt" on Netflix. (Based on a book version of the same name).

For my 12th birthday in 1984, a friend gave me "Shout at the Devil" on cassette. My mother saw it and confiscated it, saying she would "let me know."
I heard this heavy music downstairs the next day, and my Mom rocking to it saying, "Holy shit, these freaks ROCK!"

Too Fast for Love, to me, is by far their best album. I was too young for this when it first came out, but man do I love this whole album.

  • @MARSHOMEWORLD

It is kind of crazy how well this album has stood up over time. Definitely a time capsule but at the same time they were such a Fearless hybrid of sing-along pop and punk attitude mixed with the heavier guitars from Mick Mars... It's just a once-in-a-lifetime hybrid that fortunately got recorded and captured on vinyl and subsequently other mediums. I think this is probably their most inspired album although the follow-up Shout at the Devil cuz the one I heard first as a kid and that is probably their most traditionally meddle album... Lots of dark imagery, the risks are heavier, the production totally badass really thumps a long and there's an endemic songs not record so the first two are definitely my favorite

I first heard Motley on a live broadcast of the US Festival 83. I really liked their sound and Shout At the Devil would be the first album I heard. My favorite album though is Theater of Pain. That's their full on glam album and contains their biggest hit, Home Sweet Home, a ballad. I know a lot of people hate that album and the glam look they adopted for it but it has some really great songs; Save Our Souls, Fight For Your Rights and City Boy Blues; on it. No videos for them though because they weren't radio singles.

Nice! Very cool that you realized you like this kind of music, it's so good! I lived in LA in the 2nd half of the 80s, Motley Crue were already huge & always around in the clubs, as were Guns N Roses and many other bands. I'd see Slash (Guns N Roses), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) & David Lee Roth (Van Halen) in the same cool club, not fancy just a dive club. From your commentary, I think you'd have really enjoyed it. Yes, the guys back then with their hair and clothes were very, very hot, lol. Have you listened to their song Helter Skelter? It's their excellent cover of a Beatles song.

So lucky! I'm sad that I missed it the first time around- I desperately want 80's metal to come back. It's so much better than a lot of modern, manufactured, autotuned crap which is devoid of any soul or sense of fun. LIFE is generally trash now, so I want FUN music to take me away from that, where artists are being ridiculous & taking the piss😅

@@SpaceFairyness I would also then suggest Nikki Sixx’s “The Heroine Diaries”. During the height of his heroin addiction Nikki managed to keep almost daily diaries of his life. As a fan of theirs at the time we all heard the rumors and some of the stories but I was still absolutely blown away by the level of abuse that man put himself through. It truly is amazing he is still alive.
