In 2005 my US Army unit was based out of FOB Chosen, Polish Paratroopers of the Sosabowski Airborne Brigade were south of our AO (Area of Operations), the Poles, based in Babil (Babylon) Province were part of "Multi-National Division South. Excellent Soldiers, the Polish, and staunch Allies. I have great personal and Professional Respect for Poland and the Polish armed forces. Back in 2018 a Polish Colonel came out to a VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post near my home to present an award to a talented artist who lives here. The artist has painted a portrait of every Polish Soldier who was Killed In Action in Afghanistan or Iraq. (He also painted portraits of many USA and other nations Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Aviators who were KIA.)

I have never been to Poland, but I have a lot of respect for them as well. The Poles were actually one of the few countries that FOUGHT BACK when the German Army crossed their border in 1939. Between the Nazis and the Soviets they have been bounced back and forth for much of the 20th Century. If they have to fight another war, I hope they splatter their opponent's guts all over Eastern Europe. The Poland of 2022 isn't the Poland of 1939 by a long shot.

Respect to Poland for having the balls to stand by the Ukrainians. War has touched Poland far too many times, and it's toughened them so much. When Hitler first invaded Poland, apparently a cavalry charge faced German tanks. Most people would call that crazy, but it was that action that likely went a long way towards Britain joining them in standing against Hitler. As the Polish government recently said, "we know what it's like to face overwhelming odds, so we can't just stand by and do nothing about the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. You can tell Poles and Ukrainians seem to have a similar sense of humour, telling the Russians what to do with their invasion and demands to surrender. While my country, Australia is helping with supplies, Poland is the biggest help of all.

Either way, it took balls. As a people, you have much to be proud of. So many of you served with distinction in the military (ask anyone about Polish pilots in the Battle of Britain as just one example) and you universally know the value of hard work. So many of you can walk around various buildings in the Western world and can genuinely say "I helped build that."

Активный действий именно своими ВС Польша не предприняла, теперь главная цель Польши не так строительство своих ВС, как быть промышленным тылом и снабженцем Украинских ВС:)

I have never been to Poland, but I have a lot of respect for them as well. The Poles were actually one of the few countries that FOUGHT BACK when the German Army crossed their border in 1939. Between the Nazis and the Soviets they have been bounced back and forth for much of the 20th Century. If they have to fight another war, I hope they splatter their opponent's guts all over Eastern Europe. The Poland of 2022 isn't the Poland of 1939 by a long shot.

Respect to Poland for having the balls to stand by the Ukrainians. War has touched Poland far too many times, and it's toughened them so much. When Hitler first invaded Poland, apparently a cavalry charge faced German tanks. Most people would call that crazy, but it was that action that likely went a long way towards Britain joining them in standing against Hitler. As the Polish government recently said, "we know what it's like to face overwhelming odds, so we can't just stand by and do nothing about the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. We stand by the Ukrainians and will help them any way we can." everything from supply convoys to opening their borders, homes and hearts to Ukrainian refugees. You can tell Poles and Ukrainians seem to have a similar sense of humour, telling the Russians what to do with their invasion and demands to surrender. While my country, Australia is helping with supplies, Poland is the biggest help of all.
There was no Polish horse cavalry charging against German tanks. They charged and overran German artillery and then faced a counterattack by tanks.

Either way, it took balls. As a people, you have much to be proud of. So many of you served with distinction in the military (ask anyone about Polish pilots in the Battle of Britain as just one example) and you universally know the value of hard work. So many of you can walk around various buildings in the Western world and can genuinely say "I helped build that."
