  • Every TD Trace McSorley scored at PSU. Trace was responsible for 107 TDs. 77 passing TDs (2015: 2, 2016: 29, 2017: 28, 2018: 18), 30 rushing TDs (2016: 7, 2017: 11, 2018: 12).
    18:30 should say 2018
Trace holds the PSU record for career yards (9,899) and top two season yards totals (2016, 2017). He also holds the record for passing TDs by nearly 30 (77), and has the top two season totals (2016, 2017). He leads in rushing yards and TDs for QBs, and holds total TD record by 40 (107). He has most total offense in career (11,596), top three season totals, and top game total. He also won more games than any QB.
McSorley first stepped in during the bowl game when star Christian Hackenberg went down, and Trace played extremely, nearly pulling off an amazing comeback. The next year, Trace had to fill the void left by Hack's departure, who himself held many QB records. Trace led PSU to the Big Ten title and first two New Year's Six era bowl, and earned second team All-Big Ten. He would earn that spot three years in a row. His junior year he won the Fiesta Bowl MVP, and played great in the Rose Bowl the year before. Trace had many injuries that hindered him and slowed his mobility as a senior, yet he still managed to scramble excellently and still earned second team conference honors. He left the bowl game early with what was believed to be a broken foot, but once again showed toughness in returning to the game. Just like his first bowl, he nearly led PSU to an incredible comeback. Trace played his best games on the biggest stage.
He won three straight Virginia state titles (including his freshman year starting), and went to four straight title games. However, he was not the prototypical build for a QB, and mostly got looks as a safety, where he also excelled in high school. Many of the elite colleges offered him as a safety, but he turned them down to play QB, and PSU was one of the few to offer him. Heading into the NFL, people once again doubted his size for a QB, and he was asked at the Combine to work with DBs, where he again showed his character in telling them that he is a QB. Trace ran the fastest 40 of any QB at the combine. He was eventually taken in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens.

Look at all the current NFL talent Trace had around him: Saquon Barkley, Miles Sanders, DaeSean Hamilton, Chris Godwin, Mike Gesicki, KJ Hamler, Pat Friermuth, and Juwan Johnson. I believe Trace himself is still on the Ravens' practice squad.

I hated him his last year because he played poorly. Truth is Clifford was only a little better than him last year, and wasn't great until the last few games this year. He had 36 total TDs in 2016, 39 in 2017, and 30 in 2018

Clifford was not good at all last year, I woulda taken senior Trace in a heart beat. Trace was also hurt a lot his senior year, and his receivers had a lot of drops. End of the day, he led us to two NY6 and a B10 Championship, so he deserves to be remembered as one of the greats
