    Unfortunately, he failed to mention that you need the highest ($700) version of vMix to control ptz cameras. We bought the very nice PTZOptics camera and had the HD version and no joy. The PTZOptics controller software works well to and there are other ways but I thought this would have been important to know.

      Hello!
      Thank you for sharing your experience regarding the use of PTZOptics cameras with vMix. It's indeed an important point to note that controlling PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras directly from vMix requires the higher-tier version of the software. In the case of vMix, PTZ control is a feature included in their more advanced (and more expensive) packages.
      For those considering integrating PTZOptics cameras into a vMix setup, it's essential to be aware of this requirement. The PTZOptics camera controller software is a great alternative for controlling the cameras, and as you mentioned, there are other ways to manage PTZ functions without relying solely on vMix.
      It's always beneficial to research and understand the compatibility and feature limitations of software and hardware integrations in a video production setup. This helps in making informed decisions and planning budgets accordingly.
      If you have any further questions or need assistance with your PTZOptics cameras or any other aspect of your video production setup, feel free to ask. I'm here to help!

    It is possible to 'freeze' PTZ control when a camera is live, such that you do not accidentaly preview a position that affects live output?

    We are considering using Vmix instead of OBS for church live streaming. We are needing a new camera controller. Planned on purchasing this: Sony RM-IP10 IP Remote Controller which is $1600+. Considering Vmix or Wirecast. With Vmix ability to control PTZ cameras (we have 2 Sony PTZ's currently), is intriguing to use Vmix if this will work well. One question would be: We have one person running the broadcast software doing all the scenes and lower thirds etc., and one person doing all the camera switching. Is is possible to run the Vmix from 2 different machines so camera operator just operates the cameras and the software person still just does the organization of the service? Thanks for your help!

      @@StreamGeeks Thanks for the reply! Do you know specifically if you can control a Sony SRG-300HW 1080p PTZ with Vmix? I have searched and searched and cannot find if Vmix will control this specific camera or not. We currently have 2 of them. Would be a lot cheaper for our Church to just purchase the $700 Vmix package instead of a $1600 controller and still not have a better software to work with. Thanks for the information!

      Hello!
      Based on general knowledge about NDI and vMix, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
      Check Network Connectivity: Ensure that both the PTZOptics camera and the computer running vMix are on the same network. NDI requires that all devices are on the same local network for discovery and communication.
      Verify NDI is Enabled on the Camera: Make sure that NDI is enabled on your PTZOptics camera. This may involve going into the camera’s settings through its web interface and enabling NDI.
      Update Firmware and Software: Ensure that your PTZOptics camera has the latest firmware and that you are using the latest version of vMix. Updates can resolve compatibility issues and bugs.
      Check NDI Version Compatibility: Ensure that the NDI versions supported by the camera and vMix are compatible. Sometimes, a mismatch in NDI protocol versions can cause detection issues.
      Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Check the firewall and antivirus settings on the computer running vMix. These can sometimes block NDI traffic. You might need to create exceptions for vMix and NDI traffic.
      Restart Devices: Simple but often effective - restart both the camera and the computer running vMix. Sometimes, this can resolve connectivity issues.
      Use NDI Tools: Use NewTek's NDI Tools, specifically the NDI Studio Monitor, to check if the camera is visible as an NDI source on the network. If it is visible in the NDI Studio Monitor but not in vMix, the issue might be specific to vMix.
      Check Network Equipment: Ensure that your network equipment (like switches and routers) supports multicast and is properly configured for NDI traffic.
      If these steps do not resolve the issue, I recommend reaching out to PTZOptics support for further assistance, especially to confirm that the camera's NDI settings are correctly configured. Additionally, vMix support can provide guidance if the issue seems related to the vMix software.

    can use polycom eagle eyes control using vmix?

    • @PTZOptics
      @PTZOptics  Před 6 měsíci

      vMix does not natively support direct control of Polycom EagleEye cameras. vMix is primarily designed to work with PTZ cameras that use standard control protocols like VISCA, VISCA over IP, Pelco, and others. Polycom EagleEye cameras typically use their own proprietary control protocols, which may not be directly compatible with vMix's PTZ control features.

    (Camera mounted upside down) My flip-v setting resets to default every time the camera is rebooted (after a year of keeping the settings). Any suggestions on how to get it to stay? Changed setting with remote and web interface- neither way kept setting change after rebooting camera.

    • @PTZOptics
      @PTZOptics  Před 6 měsíci

      Hello, so the first thing you need to do is update the firmware on your camera. The new firmware saves almost all the OSD settings with each preset including the image flip. Set your image the way you want, and then save preset 0 that way, and that is where the camera will go to each time it is rebooted.

    How do I keep the PTZ camera from freezing on Vmix?

    • @PTZOptics
      @PTZOptics  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hello!
      If your PTZOptics camera is freezing on vMix, it's crucial to address both software and hardware factors that could be causing this issue.
      Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
      Update Firmware and Software:
      Ensure your PTZOptics camera's firmware is up to date. Firmware updates often include fixes for compatibility and performance issues.
      Update vMix to the latest version. vMix regularly releases updates that improve stability and compatibility with various devices.
      Check Connection:
      Ensure your camera is properly connected to your computer or network, depending on your setup. For IP connections, verify the network cables and switches are functioning correctly. For direct connections, such as USB or HDMI, ensure the cables are in good condition and securely connected.
      Configure Video Settings:
      Lower the video resolution or frame rate in the PTZOptics camera settings if you're pushing the limits of your network or computer's capabilities. High-resolution and high-frame-rate video requires more processing power and bandwidth, which could cause freezing if the system can't keep up.
      Network Configuration:
      For IP-based connections, ensure your network is configured correctly. It's essential to have a stable and fast network connection. Consider using a dedicated network for your video production setup to avoid congestion and ensure high performance.
      vMix Settings:
      In vMix, check the input settings for the PTZOptics camera. Ensure that the correct input type (e.g., NDI, RTSP) is selected and that the settings match those of the camera.
      If using NDI, ensure that your network supports NDI and that any necessary firewalls or routers are configured to allow NDI traffic.
      Test with Another Software:
      To determine if the issue is specific to vMix, try using the camera with another video software. If the camera works fine with other software, the issue might be specific to vMix settings or compatibility.
      Review Computer Performance:
      Check your computer's performance. Ensure your computer meets the minimum requirements for both vMix and streaming high-quality video from the PTZOptics camera. Upgrading hardware components like the CPU, GPU, or RAM might be necessary if your system is underpowered.
      Contact Support:
      If you've gone through these steps and the issue persists, reach out to PTZOptics support or the vMix support team for further assistance. They may offer additional insights specific to your setup.
      Remember, troubleshooting is often a process of elimination. By systematically going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your PTZOptics camera freezing on vMix.
