I worked for 12 years at the Japan Airlines Flight Crew Training Center in Napa, California, (now closed), and we had several young ladies enter the pilot training program. I would have no problem getting on a flight with them as PIC. They worked very hard and were very professional. I wish them the best!

I'm Japanese, and since some people seem to want to know what she says when she cries (2:42), here's the English translation.
    (Japanese in Roman characters)
"Watashi ga kokomade koretano wa...(sobbing)... hontou ni ironna hitoni tasukete moratte, anoo...(filler), tochuu de nankai mo, watashi ha damekamo shirenai to omottann desukeredomo, etto.. (filler) , yatto pairotto tosite sutaato(start) chiten ni tatete, hontouni, hontouni, ureshiku omottemasu. Korekaramo, doukino minnamo, kyoukan gata mo, osewaninatta minasanmo, kongo, suenagaku yoroshiku onegai shimasu."
    (English Translation)
"The reason I've been able to come this far is truly thanks to the help of many people. Along the way, there were countless times when I thought I might not be cut out for it, but I'm truly, truly happy to finally stand at the starting point as a pilot. From here on out, I look forward to a long relationship with my peers, instructors, and everyone who has taken care of me. I humbly ask for your continued support in the future."
