@@gwenmloveskpopcecmore it was mentioned in the video that fantagio has a lot of financial struggles and astro seems to be their most profitable artist so the company letting astro have multiple group releases in a year along with sub units must be an effort to stabilize the company’s financial situation. fanmu does have to start getting things together for weki meki though because they have so much potential to make it big like their colleagues (and the company should also include photocards next time, capitalize on the influx of photocard collectors)

If they were under a company that wasn’t struggling constantly they’d be doing so well. All of their songs are amazing and Dazzle Dazzle is my favourite song of all time.
its crazy how IOI and Produce 101 was so popular yet each group the members of the final debut group of ioi just never was properly managed, Gugudan, Weki Meki, Hinapia, Dia etc had these A list celebrities at the time yet each group failed to become something big and thats purely because of their agencies.. its a shame.
Hinapia was because of Covid, the real problem happened with Pristin. The only group doing good is Cosmic Girls

Hinapia had a good company but it was so small and they barely had any money. So Covid had a huge effect on them sadly
@@gwenmloveskpopcecmore Yeah Hinapia would likely still exist now if it weren't for covid feel so bad for all the members, they were so passionate about their careers and something like that, that they couldn't even control ruined it for them, such a shame.
Their story is so odd. They debuted with a bang but that was also their peak. But to me, as time passed their music got way better. I'm kinda surprised that Fantagio didn't drop the ball and kept them coming back, that's what we expect an agency to do, but we see many many times how companies drop their groups when they don't meet commercial gain.
they must be significant revenue generation through their additional activities, and probably are the reason why they are still around

it hurts extra bad knowing how weki meki was hurt by external shareholder issues, like the messy management during that period really hurt their momentum and they never seemed to be able to recover 😭
they truly earned there right to be a successful group and i bet if it weren’t for all of the management issue they would be in a better place. Thank god us fans are so dedicated and continue to support weki meki through there hardships. Let’s make there next comeback whenever that may be better than siesta!
my most favourite title track of WeMe is "Picky Picky" and "Tiki Taka"
it’s insane how obvious it was that ioi was just a Guinea pig to the start of temporary groups. They were together for such a short amount of time but were so insanely popular everyone just assumed that when they went their separate ways it would be easy for the members to bring their popularity to their respective groups/solo endeavors. Weki Meki should’ve exploded onto the scene, they had 2 of the most popular ioi members, and the rest of the members were skilled in their own right. I feel like they debuted at a weird time (like the video mentions), ik after ioi disbanded doyeon and yoojung went to LA for a bit to train. But I think fantagio should’ve sent the entire group to LA, and filmed it. Sort of like a road to debut type of show (similar to what IVE did with 1,2,3 IVE and what lesserafim recently did with their documentary), it would’ve showcased the girls talents and their teamwork and dedication to the group early own, while also showing the general public the girls personalities. I think the weird timing in debut and all of the mismanagement from fantagio has deeply impacted them as whole, but I’m glad to see that all of the girls are still promoting together and you can tell that they care deeply for one another. Which I think has something to do with how much they’ve all struggled to debut in the first place, ik yoojung has said before how produce 101 was her last chance and that if she didn’t make the final lineup she would’ve given up on her dream to become an idol, which is so heartbreaking bc you can tell just how much she loves being on stage and how great she is on variety shows. I just hope they can maybe try and fit into the 4th gen sound a bit more, get a viral song, and finally get the recognition they deserve. Weki meki fighting 💛
I'm a big fan of weki meki and have been following them since Picky Picky era. I truly hope we can get them a first win, as a gift from the fans, to help them know we have appreciated their efforts and their perseverance through all the hard times with their company
it physically hurts me that tiki taka didn’t sell well, it was the best summer song out of all the summer girl group songs that dropped that year imo 🥲🥲🥲
I love them with my whole heart. They have everything, they are talented, pretty, funny, variety worthy, with an incredible discography... What else does the world need to realize their worth?!? I've never understood.

Picky Picky should've been their breakout. Great catchy teasers and good promotions and MV. The final product is perfect. Still don't understand how it was slept on...
Probably should have mentioned how many variety shows Yoojung was on. She was and still is popular with Korean GP for her variety skills.
I REALLY hope WekiMeki survive. There's something genuinely unique about them, they have so much talent, creativity and personality. I suppose their style isn't that popular with the Korean general public, since they have a slightly more 'experimental' sound and look... but that's why I love them! Just have to keep supporting them and trying to make new fans...
Ki-Lings have been waiting for this perfect storm. Road to Max has shown the rest of the general public how dedicated Ki-Lings are and have put the spotlight back on WEME. This is the type of ground swell that was needed for everyone to rediscover them and push them with enough popularity and support so that hopefully, their next comeback will finally give them a music show win. I honestly believe every single since Picky Picky deserved a win, they were just going up against bigger groups / songs at the time. If we keep pushing, we can get them the recognition and accolades that they sorely deserve.

I look up to the members of Weki Meki a lot. I love their music but I also think they work extremely well together
I love them all. There's no weak link in Weki Meki. Cool was SO Cool and what a banger. I want the best for them. Rina is an overlooked beauty. I can't figure out why Korea doesn't see that. They are my favorite underdogs since the demise of CLC. Now that Dreamcatcher got a win I'm hoping Weki Meki can come back with another banger and be recognized for it.
Genuinely believe doyeon is stiff competition for the title of most beautiful person on the planet and companies seem to understand that but no one supports her great love aka her group with her besties that they pour their hearts into every time

I get really upset and sad about the current situation of weki meki, these girls are so talented and have a lot of bops, but with the fantagio situation and the low reception of the public they ended up not reaching the great potential of fame they deserved :(

The problem with the first post Produce groups is how the companies added so many members to the already famous pairs. They should have had 5-6 member groups only like Le Sserafim and IVE
(I know this comment is like a year late) It's not just in IOI's case tbh. WannaOne and X1's post produce groups are flopping badly as well. At least the IOI members have flourishing solo careers but we barely hear anyone's name from the boygroups lol.
The comment about debuting between 3rd/4th gen is sooo correct. They need to gain new fans to keep up. As much as I love WM, if they rebranded to adhere to 4th gen sounds, visuals, and dance choreography, they'd be a top 4th gen group for sure. I just want my girls' hard work to pay off bc they deserve it! 😭

IOI got their 1st win for whatta man (1st and last OT7 release) and then they won for Very Very Very (1st and last comeback as ot11)
Weki Meki repeatedly released the best fucking songs in kpop while their company was on fire in the background it’s so crazy
I discovered them with New Rules, I didn't know some of them were in IOI before!! That explains why for example Doyeon has so much charisma :o But I never really followed them because I found their concept changes confusing, I don't really listen to their releases before New Rules (sorry...) because of that, but there was another concept change with Siesta so... I hope they can stabilize their sound because I think the members are very talented. What you explained about the difficulties with the company management makes a lot of sense.
By the way, I thought they could have gone on Queendom!

i was watching pd101 for the first time recently and it's just insane how popular yoojung is :') it's so sad to think that it didn't totally transfer over to weki meki, that being said I think yoojung will still find a lot of success for years to come because she is so easily loveable and a great variety star!!🥰 but also!! fantagio announced weki meki's lightstick today after 5 years 😭😭 this is so encouraging bc to me this shows the company is starting to put effort into them again and give them things kpop groups should have:') hopefully this will mean high budget cb soon and fantagio doing the most for the girls so they can truly go viral and gain the popularity they deserve. obviously this is just speculation but it is a promising sign:)

Another part that needed to be mention is the 8 members debuted under Weki Meki were not the same 8 introduced during i-Teen Girls. Ji Suyeon was added at the very end in place of another woman. I do not know why the original lady left but there is and hour-ish long v-live introducing her to the public with the name Ye-jin. This video is still up on their channel.

as a casual weki meki fan who started listening to them after picky picky i wasnt aware of how their company struggled..
Dazzle dazzle and cool were SUCH GOOD comebacks and i really couldnt wrap my mind around why they werent more successful :(
They have 2 of IOI's most popular, talented members and they completely wasted their potential. Weki Meki's songs fall short compared to their competitors and their comebacks are far and few in between. It's really frustrating, because both girls had so much success before joining Weki Meki.
Weki Meki is a case that makes me really sad. They have amazing music, the girls are really charismatic and the vibe between the members is always fun and fresh. But unfortunately all their comebacks always had some fantagio issue holding them down. Weki Meki is one of my favorite's girl groups, they do have an amazing discography, but it's sad they couldnt skyrocket yet... i thought picky picky was it when it was realeased, then dazzle dazzle and then cool, but unfortunately it wasnt enough for them to increase their korean fanbase :(

I appreciate the mention you gave to their contribution to the art of Relay Dance. I thought of them specifically that way... I remember their first Relay Dance, for IDLYG was an adorable disaster. But by the time of "Picky Picky" I was going "Wow! Look at that coordination!"
What bothers me the most is that their songs are really good, and a lot of people seem to agree with that, but we all (generalizing) end up forgetting their existance

It’s sad knowing WJSN is the only post IOI group to succeed. Pristin and Gugudan disbanded with no wins. Although Pristin may have won best new female artist it was all for nothing. DIA has only gotten one win and will disband in September since their contracts expire.

My first love was 2nd gen After School since their disband i never found a kpop girl band, once i found Weki Meki. Something different with Weki Meki, they are different kpop girl band in 4th gen like what After School did in 2nd gen, it's just like a dejavu for me.

As much as it is heartbreaking to completely agree with this video, I hope they make a breakthrough. Considering their talent both individually and as a group they could easily reach a lot more popular and gain a lot of fans than many already popular groups. It is highly disappointing and a tragedy to witness 8 talented girls who spent a quality amount of their life until now polishing their talents just to waste it without any activities under Fantagio. Only if... Only if. They debuted under another agency or... If they could be transferred to another agency as a group would they get at least a quarter the popularity and hype they deserve? I am a ki-ling. After a long day of work, the first thing I browse is any recently updated posts on Wekimeki. Sadly, there isn't even much to repost. They had one 'mohae' show and thanks to the ladies it was a great one. And then... Nothing. If not even their company could give us a platform to hype them, what do they expect the fans to do? Weki Meki girls have been doing everything a normal person would do including taking driving licences, language tests, visiting art galleries, and shows dining around with friends, and more. As big as I am happy that the girls are happy and getting enjoying the time, I am equally sad that they are so SCHEDULE FREE and available that it gives me no hope to expect anything coming in near future. I love to see them perform. I love their voices and I love watching each of their fan cams. Their activities are almost like a short period of so much fun, and then... Nothing. The gap is more annoying since the company doesn't even give any variety shows or anything as content for the fans. It is as if the company doesn't want to gather more fans.
Yes, Fantagio started doing a little better than earlier with Astro. Nevertheless... I wish the company just disappears one day and the artists and trainees move to another company.

tha main problem of many groups is comeback with single albums becouse nobody want to pay for 2-3 songs
if their music wasn’t so good, i think it would be too painful to be a fan, but they have some of the best bsides in kpop. i want them to get attention so bad or else i fear the worst. :(

it used to be called fantagio music and there were several sublabels under fantagio like fantagio music, fantagio picures and more.
but in 2021 all sublabels were put together and now it's just called fantagio, there's also fantagio hong kong and studio invictus. these are the last two sublabels.
fantagio entertainment say many is not correct.

they may not be that popular compared to other groups but they're FAR from being nugu, nugus are groups like majors, purplebeck, ariaz, cherry on top, irris, srzn, etc, those names that nearly nobody recognizes
I think ASTRO helped Fantagio so much and make them as their Golden Child but after looking Fantagio has a Financial Struggle i think WeMe cases is different with Chaebul

considering the track record of post IOI groups, Weki Meki could be in a lot worse position. I’m glad they have fans who care and tbh it’s quite impressive how they’ve managed to preserver and come back after all the shit that went on in fantagio, and the Rocky sales figures
