Now on SC 2 we had this good space cowboys saving the girl, turning Raynor´s revenge into a romance plot (damn) and Mengks as the cliche evil guy who surprisingly NOT , failed any plan he attempted (lol). Dont get me wrong i waited SC2 for so long and enjoyed it but the story could have been much deeper , not so childish and simple. Fedas Its not that hard, gone are the gritty dark humor along with the epic sacrifices against the overwhelming. With writing that actually had plot twists.
      SC2 campaign was the very definition of 101 Hollywood Cliches. And honestly I've played WC3 custom maps with better map design then half the missions.
      As I said in a previous comment, all the designers and developers that created Blizzards golden age have left the company.
      They are now unable to develop a well developed and designed game aimed towards th more hardcore gamer audience, and now most of their success actually lies in the casual consumer. Not that is a bad thing, however sc2 and diablo 3 were definitely let downs.

      Happy Reviewer It weakened the tension in the story. Who is the bad guy? Mensk? He didn't feel much of a threat in Starcraft 1. He was part of a bigger story. Why did he all of a sudden become the main villain? He barely managed to survive at the end of Brood War. And now he's dead? And who's the main villain? This supper-massive God-Like creature? I think David Brevik was right when he said, "People matter in the industry", because now we can see it with our own eyes. The developers of the Blizzard Golden Age are gone now, and it shows that they can barely come up with anything decent even with new recruits. People matter man, they really do....

      Yeah I hear ya man. I get tired of these Blizzard Apologists or whatever you call them, saying that we have nostalgia on the mind. They don't know they Blizzard lost prodigies on their team. Prodigies don't come around every 10 decades or even 20 for that matter. Because it's been 20 years since Diablo 2 and Starcraft 1. Maybe more. Yet, they can't surpass their own games anymore.
      They should be like, well we made that game dam good. Let's build off of it. Except this wasn't they case they scraped the old units.
      This might be getting off topic, but the thing that made Halo great was they knew they had something to keep and build off of just a little.
      There are exceptions I know this. Warcraft2 was a great sequel and new new game. The first one didn't have air or sea. There's a point though. Don't replace the classics with lesser appealing products.

      Yeaahh I know this comment is over a year old, but I recently was thinking about WH 40k and SC Marines comparison and who would win in a 1v1 battle. The answer (in my opinion) is: Whoever gets the hit first. Standard bolters are essentially loaded with miniature demolition charges that hit their target behind its armour. But each and every 8mm bullet from Impaler Gauss Rifle goes well over the speed of sound and they are capable of eventually penetrating the armour of heavy vehicles, not to mention other Marine's armours. And they fire at the rate of 30 rounds per second, you saw how fast that Marine depleted his clip. So whoever gets hits first, dies, be it an explosive bullet turning your insides into mush, or a cloud of super piercing shreds of metal, changing you and your armour into swiss cheese.

    • @danielhollick1708
      @danielhollick1708 Před 3 lety +1

      Bruh, space marines have multiple hearts, a rib cage as thick as their armour and can sruvive for a while after organ failiure. While a wh space marine would die from the hail of bullets, it would not be instant and the space marine will always get the first shot in due to their reactipn speed (the sons of medusa for example can predict what their opponents can do so well it means they ALWAYS get the first shot in.)

Suddenly these cut scenes are downright cutting edge!!

    Fuckin goosebumps here alright. Never knew, even after all these years the intro of Brood Wars still has that epic opening. Something that I couldn't feel with Starcraft 2. But then again, for nostalgia sake, and because of years of anticipation, Starcraft 2 was an inevitable letdown (Well, for our expectations actually). In defending the sequel, I think the team at Blizzard did a great job in expanding the lore, and while the whole Kerrigan/Arthas trope is kinda cliche, it did wrap things up for the franchise.
    The Zergs in the sequel is less scarier, I can agree on that, but thats because they're elevated to an anti-hero kind of role; but more protagonist than antagonist so its obvious why the developers made the zergs more "cuter" and less uncanny. That, and being that 90s low res graphics was a hit back in the days for being cutting edge at the time - us being in the 21st century with HD video games made us expect more from video game graphics to provide us with more immersion. Lore wise, zerg evolved to suit Kerrigan's preferences? I mean, being an infested human, you'd want some "recognizable" human friendly features if you're going to rule comfortably right? Or maybe the zerg incorporated kawai alien lifeforms into the swarm.
