On drop rate is a series about obtaining a specific unique item from any source in old school runescape, but I can only attempt said activity as many times as the items exact drop rate.
This episode, we are entering the ancient prison with the goal of defeating nex up to 258 times or get our hands on the Nihil horn drop.
Nex is one of the most convtroversial bosses in the game because of how tedious and boring it is, yet is the best money maker in the entire game.

If you get caught in Ice prison or Contain, or you're frozen next to Nex while killing Glacies, protect from Ranged. The damage you take will be halved. Don't forget to switch back to protect from Magic after being hit
Congratz! Also, people use Nihil shards to know how dry they are for the Nex pet or a Nex item in their name, since the amount of nihil shards scale with team size just like the pet. You get an item in your name every approx. 300 nihil shards for an item in your name and the average for Nexling is about 3.5k nihil shards, so you friend is still under the rate and after the video, you are still at about 1/7.75 of the drop rate for it, that's crazy lucky! I have over 11k nihil shards from Nex and I still dont have the pet, but at least I love the boss :)

Nihil Horn is the only Nex unique I have so far on my iron, very nice to see someone getting the drop. 100% the best feeling drop I have ever received.

There is an FC that specializes in mini masses and is the "hub" for small team creations. All drops are FFA. There is also one that do splits but I think they are small teams only.

Doing step-unders is extremely important for nex. It not only makes her hit you 1 tick slower it also delays all her specials by a tick for every step under you do.

I know I’m late but the 1/43 drop rate is an aggregate of everyone’s individual drop rate. Getting mvp gives you a 10% boost to your roll not the “teams roll”. For trios it’s about a 1/130 for individual rates. MVP would give 10% off of that not the 1/43.

You've had the exact same drops in your name as i did. It just took me 2800 nihil shards to get instead of 400. Mainly duos.

trio should be 10-11 kills hr, if you wana do it semi efficiently, you double spec p1 save double spec for p3, stall nex so she doesnt summon a 2nd set of reavers, rush crour, (when 2nd set should spawn) finish crour in time and she wont heal off the 2nd set, her hp should be about 1450 when u finish crour. enjoy ur 6:30 to sub 6 kills!

I honestly don't get why people hate Nex for this. There is no one kill duration. You can go to a mass and kill her in less than a minute if you want, you can duo for over 5 minutes, or anywhere in between.
Do you honestly think it's healthy for an endgame boss with best in slot armour to be killed without taking damage? Timing the brewing/restore to keep DPS as high as possible, and knowing when you can sit at low HP, is a skill that we really only see in Nex and PvP.
