Our Officer Health Professions (HP) careers require specific bachelor/masters/PhD degrees and licenses/certifications, are US citizens and experience to apply. Which means you must already have these specific requirements to apply.

What are the requirement's for pre-dental students? I am interested in applying but am currently only a sophomore in undergrad and have not yet taken the DAT.
You can apply as enlisted, Your career will be determined by your ASVAB score, physical and background check, Once you are a senior on college and have taken the DAT you can apply for the HPSP scholarship for dental school

Does this apply for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner?
The Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program helps doctorate (DNP) bound nursing students complete school with financial assistance. NC HPSP participants receive Air Force financial assistance for tuition, fees, books, laboratory expenses, etc., in addition to those educational expenses normally incurred by students in the civilian schools degree program. They also receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses $2,728.00 After graduation, participants will owe the Air Force a minimum active duty obligation of 3 years, or one year for each year of scholarship (whichever is greater). The standard obligation will always equal 8 years of active duty time and Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) time. Example: if a payback were 3 years active duty, the IRR obligation would be 5 years. NC HPSP selects must commission on or before the last day of the year of selection. NC HPSP participants attend Commissioned Officer Training (COT) after completion of the civilian degree conferment.
Must be enrolled, or currently accepted, in an ACEN, CCNE accredited Doctorate Nursing Practice (DNP) program, must be National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) eligible and either already degreed, or projected to graduate within the next 12 months of board start date, with a Baccalaureate of Nursing (BSN/BAN), or higher, from a nursing school accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

All programs must lead to a doctorate degree accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). For applicant eligibility, please reference a current synopsis. Previous eligible doctorate degree programs are as follows:

Eligibility Requirements for entry into this specialty require completing a course in physical therapy acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF, which is mandatory. The minimum educational entry is an entry-level doctorate (DPT) or transitional (e.g., post-professional) DPT. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis for exceptionally qualified candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree but who do not have a transitional DPT. Applicants must have a current Physical Therapy license before entering active duty.
There may be Health Profession Scholarships available for students. You will want to reach out to your area Health Professions recruiter.

If you don’t have a 3.9 GPA and a 25 DAT, I wouldn’t do it. There’s 5 (four year) scholarships and like 40 (three year) scholarships.
Army and navy have two or three times as many spots.
Recruiters won’t play hard to get and ignore you either.
However, the life quality in USAF may be better than other branches due to the areas of the bases and the personnel. Nonetheless, all branches with HPSP will get the same benefits and relative pay. It’s a numbers game and you’ll get the same time commitment for all branches. Liken the USAF like Harvard over your local State college (Navy/Army) for getting an undergrad. Depending what you study, it may not even matter and you’d still get a quality education perhaps with less competition. However, it is also a status deal and I get that. To each their own.

Dental HPSP (Health Professions Scholarship Program)
To be eligible to apply for Health Professions Officer Programs in the U.S. Air Force, you must be a U.S. citizen. Air Force Dental HPSP scholarships are for four-, or three, year periods, that pays full tuition and all required fees. This includes reimbursement for textbooks, small equipment items and supplies needed for study. You'll also receive a monthly allowance for living expenses. You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an ADA accredited dental school. Your payback is a minimum commitment of three years and begins after you complete dental school. Must complete HPSP by age 39.

Unfortunately no, X-ray tech is an enlisted career for the USAF,. Medical students getting an MD can apply for the HPSP, Then apply to Match to a radiology residency

CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER HPSP (Health Professions Scholarship Program)
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply HPSP applicants must be accepted to a Masters of Social Work (MSW) program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). They must enroll in a clinical track to apply for a HPSP scholarship. A scholarship will cover up to two years of their graduate program. Selection for clinical social work HPSP's will be made during the BSC HPSP boards.
Upon successful completion of their MSW graduates will attend COT. Following COT and depending on the availability of internship slots, individuals will either attend a year-long internship program at one of five social work training sites, or they may go directly to their first permanent duty station as an entry level social worker.
