Ingredients
Filling:
Apples
Cinnamon powder
Sugar
Water
Crumble:
Oats
Plain flour
Sugar
Butter
Method:
Peel and core apples. I prefer to use Granny Smith but any variety of choice or a mixture is fine. Chop into cubes.
Place the apple cubes in a dish, and sprinkle with cinnamon powder, sugar and a glass of water. Cook on medium heat until the apples have softened.
To make the crumble, place equal parts of oats, plain flour, sugar and cold butter in a bowl. With your hands, mix these ingredients, until a crumble-like consistency is achieved.
Remove the apples from heat, and top with the crumble mixture, to cover the surface of the apples.
Place the dish in the oven, and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, or until the crumble crust is golden.
