You should take some books with you and read from old Americana on those rainy nights. I’d love to hear you narrate passages from Edgar Allen Poe, Hawthorn, Melville, Whitman etc. The wilderness is a perfect setting for such!
That's a great idea! LOL I was listening to an audio book for a little while out there.
Enjoyed your video. The shots you got at camp looks so sweet. Also loved the music. Great video Duane! 💯
Thanks so much Jonny! I really trying to capture better and more footage. I was bummed that I forgot the drone at home. Hope you and your lovely start feeling better and can salvage the weekend!
@@dustyroaddestinations wow didn’t even notice there was no drone shots. It was really well out together & those camp shots looked beautiful!
Thanks I really appreciate you saying that! I've gotten a lot of inspiration from your channel and how you put your videos together! Doing to work on another one (or two) this weekend with my youngest!
This is a great video, Duane! Thank-you. Sorry it rained on you but there's peace even in the rain. I often think of the early explorers. They didn't have trail bikes, speed boats, aeroplanes or boom boxes to contend with! The tranquility must have been beautiful, despite cinditions being rough!
Nikki
Yeah that's a great point! Although it would have been amazing to experience that. Now we have to venture out farther away to try and find something like that nowadays. The funny thing about the rain is it doesn't really rain much around here AND (like I mentioned early in the video) when it does it typically does it quickly and then it's like it never happened. The concern is I knew "Hillary" was rolling in and technically the "storm" hadn't actually started yet. So I was worried about getting stuck up there. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
Would love to see a video of you at Joshua Tree. It looks beautiful from the pictures.
When I went out I didn't really video much - at least I don't think I did - might have to head back out there for a video trip!!!
Love these videos!
Thanks so much @itumblers and I really appreciate you watching them!
Great video ☔️ looked very tranquil for a bit
You know it really was! It was still nice while it was raining I was just getting worried about getting out. Apparently the road did wash out the next day so was a good thing I left when it did. Thanks for watching Heather!
Lovely vid!
Thank you so much for checking it out and the feedback! Very much appreciated VanLyf!
Thanks for the video. I worked through that rain storm up at LI and it got way worse.
Yeah I bet. After hours of it raining and my spot starting to fill up with water I was getting a little worried the road might wash out. Hope it didn’t cause you many problems.
@@dustyroaddestinations several raid did wash out. It’s good you got out when you did. Keep them videos coming sir. Love the Sequoia
Yeah I know part of 58 was washed out and one of the roads by Red Rock Canyon. I really didn't want to try to come down those dirt mountain roads after a serious storm. I just thought I was going to miss it and it would start to get back on Sunday... I'm contemplating heading up there this weekend to see how it survived from all of that - but still trying to figure out where I'm going to point the windshield. I'm taking my youngest with me on this next trip so it should be fun!
@@dustyroaddestinations jawbone is close west of 395 still.
That's a bummer, I had to look that up to find the pictures and story about it. Looks like it's going to be closed for a while.
cool
Thanks so much @scythezilla9163!
Hey you got a new setup! you'll have to show that off next video, not using a normal tent i see
Hey Tyler! Yeah my youngest and I went on an epic adventure this summer when we drove up to Portland to get the Super Pacific installed on the truck. It’s a game changer. Great idea about a walk around. I think I’ll do that this weekend when we head out. Picking up the youngest tomorrow for a weekend adventure!
@@dustyroaddestinations wish i had my little one this weekend, im only a hour away from sequoia haha. i'll keep a eye out for your video!
My little ones not so little anymore - 18 and graduated. Kind of cool the young adult still wants to spend some time with the old man! What side of sequoia are you on? Bakersfield/Fresno or highway 14 side?
@@dustyroaddestinations yeah these kids grow fast lol, im over in fresno
I was thinking about doing that side and doing the national parks - you think it would be hammered for the long weekend? I’m not a super crowd person.
🤗❤️🌧☔️🏕🛻👍
thanks Cindy - for some reason this comment was "held for review"
Dirt bike riders and hunters in the fall. Great area though.
Yeah it's like a little unknown gem! On that last video we did run across a couple of dirt bikers - although I'm not entirely sure if we keep seeing the same person though. You know a few weeks ago I was in Big Bear and it was HAMMERED with people and it just not as peaceful...
California life for sure, you should take the time to try camping in Florida, you will have more respect while you are camping….. hit me up I’ll show you some great river camping and the way it’s meant to be….. pure peace minus the airboats but those are music to my ears
I think airboats would have been better than a bunch of thumping music! I would love to have an opportunity to travel around the united states and I hope to make some of that happen in the coming years! Be careful I just might hit you up on your offer Bobby!
@@dustyroaddestinations bring it on….. would love to show you around….. just so you know summer months in Florida is for the hard core campers…… low 90s at night lol Camp Mac is a great place to start your Florida camping experience, tho the bass fishermen are horrible in the mornings lol
Yeah, I think your summers would kill me - the weather and humidity - its super dry around here. Sounds like it would be a great place to visit in February!!! LOL
