Whenever I get really drunk and I am getting ready for my next business meeting, I get naked, play this album and dance to it while singing all the lyrics I know so well. Amazing feeling. Thank you Nick.
youlemur Haha!
youlemur Nick would probably approve ;)
+youlemur it would be great if the internet knew if you were female or male, in order to properly visualise your comment ;)
+youlemur You get drunk before a business meeting?
I think Nick would always approve of letting the wildman out.
I grew up with Nick Cave in my head, been listening to him since late 80'. A lot of music happened in my life, melodies, lyrics and faces appearing and vanishing. But some things remain, Nick is one of them. I wonder how it feels to know that you are so deeply inter-connected with people you never even knew existed:)
You and me both. I was in my early teens when someone turned me on to this and I've been listening ever since.
The first Melody that I heard from this Gentleman was "Nobody's Baby Now". So you can say that he came into my life a little late. 22 years old to be precise. But it was meant to be. For I am Esoteric. My Life Has Changed FOREVER. ..Thank You, Your Holiness.
I feel blessed that I grew up listening to his songs... back in the '90's thanks to my first high-school love, who was obsessed with him...
This is one of my favourite albums ever! There's a very few albums out there that I can listen to at any time whether I'm happy, relaxed, sad or angry and this album is one of them.
possibly the greatest australian musician of all time
You've got to be kidding. Surely Rolf Harris deserves that accolade.
Tommy Emmanuel can really pick a git-tar.
Not possibly, he is easily the goat if you look at the overall strength of his discography
I don't see anybody but Nick Cave being Australia's goat.
Cave is a brilliant songwriter and performer!
Wow! This music is poetic....creative..just mind blowing! LOVE it !
His best album, great!
I have to disagree as I think the first born is dead is a completely composed symphony of discontent
I just did that with Prayers on Fire, and right after I decided to add Your Funeral... to my Nick Cave list for later and ended up listening to the whole thing. Good way to spend your time though.
one of he's best albums, filled with darkness
It has been said before, but this is a great album. Unique atmosphere and one of the few albums that never lose their intensity, whether you play them in summer or fall/winter.
I use to work at sea and this was so my theme song then. I'd be being thrown back and forth in my cabin during storms dancing silently to my ipod, as all hell broke our around me, longing for earth, growing things, and feeling tossed about by waves and life. I la la love this song and it was so completely applicable to my life at the time. It absobs right into my soul. Oh how I love the Be Goods!
Out of all of his albums.. listening and listening and re-experiencing them with all my soul over the years I have to say this one right here is a masterpiece from start to finish. Every single track on this album is like magic to my ears and food for my soul, I will never ever ever ever get tired of listening to it, ever! ♥
Love your mood that’s blacker than a dead nuns heart
Blacker thank King Ink's stinkboot @@johneaton9074
favorite album..met him @ amoeba,L.A CA...tall slender pale faced gentleman with pale white hands, bright green eyes .. wow! an Honor to meet him!
Bright blue eyes :) close enough ..
He sat right in front of me when TIFF screened “the proposition”. I leaned over and said “I love you. Thank you so much for your music.” He turned around and looked at me with a smile and said “Thank you. I’m glad you like it.”
The ultimate Nick Cave album. Your Funeral... and Tender Prey are great too, but on this one he really got everything together.
Totally agree. Has some of the Bad Seeds best love songs ( I Let Love In, Nobody's Baby Now) & some of their greatest more raucous stuff (Do You Love Me?, Thirsty Dog & Red Right Hand.
"Red Right Hand" and "Nobody's Baby Now" are off the chain. This is my favorite of his albums.
Nick has introduced Nobody's Baby Now as his favourite song he has written, on stage in 1996 .. so I'm sure he has surpassed it many times by now, but he had still written a lot of great songs already by that time so high praise indeed for the song from the man himself.
Still amazes what a great album 20 years on
This album kicks ass. I'm not certain why it's taken me so long to get around to listening to Nick Cave!
НЕТ ЕМУ РАВНЫХ!!! МУЗЫКАНТ!!! С БОЛЬШОЙ БУКВЫ!!!!! СПАСИБО!!!
So many of his records are my favorite. Tender Prey is endlessly listenable, Your Funeral... has unimaginable emotions, this is the epitome of the Seeds' noise endeavors, Abattoir is perfection from beginning to end, etc. etc. He doesn't disappoint.
Ещё в 94году сиё замечательное произведение слушал!!! Эх юность: улетевшая сквозь двери... В закат забравшая, угасшие мечты((
Peaky Blinders using Red Right Hand as their opening every show made me check this guy out. Can't believe he slipped through my radar back then. TV has it's redeeming values. Same thing happened with that Denis Leary show Rescue Me. Never would have heard the fabulous "C'mon C'mon" by the Von Bondies. Kudos to the music people on both shows for their perfect picks.
Peaky Blinders related... You'll love Sinead O'Connor.
One of my all time fave albums!
red right hand
This is the album Dracula wished he'd made.
max alburg No. He said this is the album Dracula wished he had made.
Jody Lowe the autism is strong with this one
Nick Wright No. He said this is the album Dracula wished he had made.
oreet kid
Nick Wright
No. He said this is the album Dracula wished he had made.
One of the best records of Nick Cave
Heard about Nick Cave a lot of times before, never payed attention to him until now. Oh boy, better late than never... 0_0
♥️
This album is fucking incredible
all love and condolences for the man and his wife, I felt awful when I read about the son..I have been in love with the music and songs since I was 17...
you never have the one you want, never get the love you want..damn life
keep cool, I got it all, try harder and listen to positive music :D
This is an excellent album.
Serious contender for best album ever
awesome classic Nick...he is coming round too North America this year..!! cant wait!
One of my favorite albums of all time!Great Nick!
the fact that Metallica covered Loverman is just amazing, I Love both Nick Cave and Metallica Equally, Perfect
Martin Gore from Depeche Mode did a great cover.
Masterpiece, even the b-sides are great...especially Sail Away.
Let love in! Masterful tunes, loved it then still love it now!
Maledetto....inarrivabile...magico....meraviglioso Nick
Masterpiece indeed
This is the album I discovered Nick Cave by on a trip to Oakland for a grand Halloween party painted blue amidst strangers. I never forgot the haunting Elvis in Hell style with profound personal insights. This is still one of my all time favorite albums exhibiting an all American artist of such professional style dexterity one can't help but be impressed by everything he does. I proceeded to buy the book And the Ass Saw the Angel and fell in love with the complexity of his person. He's amazing.
No! I didn't know...wow impressive that he was able to channel these characters in the ass saw the angel book...
Rula Kaliroi You made me chuckle! I like everything about this album except the mullet on the cover. Chris Waddle wouldn't even go near it...yes, I appreciate you have no idea what I'm on about!!
I can see why you thought Cave was a Yank, or wanted him to be...he is to music what Nicholas Cage should have been to film...but unfortunately Nicholas Cage decided to become a twat instead.
Haha! totally...u know i feel ya on the mullet but maybe Cave n Bowie are the exception. Are his other albums as perfect?
All American artist? He's from Australia.
Nobody's baby now... Beautiful, buts hurts..
nick cave rules !!!!
bless from poland ))))
Hats off to the man
cuanto más escuchó este álbum más me gusta, espectacular
bravo majstore, hvala Aleksandar

I Like this album of Nick Cave ....
+theo nwe εδώ είμαστε, Nick Cave the one and only
After hell ...is love! Ο Νικ είναι οδηγός..
Πολύ μεγάλη!!!!
When I'm being torn apart by werewolves, I hope I'm listening to this album.
😁
Every song is better than the next. This album is perfect.
Jangling Jack is not exactly better than any of the classics which came before it :/
I find it interesting we are exploring older music as there isn't much around these days even though, there is more music than ever before. I've been listening to vinyl and there is hardly anything new in the collection.
Great album, mr. Cave has such a warm voice :)
Ok sounds like this band has been around forever but I just discovered them...and its fucking phenomenal .....Exquisite!!!!!
cały album wymiata!
I'm so happy I bought this album, it became one of my favourites so effortlessly. Thank you Nick for making me let love out
I am a big fan of the gouging and scraping intensity of the Birthday Party. It is only recently that I have warmed up to Nick Cave's mellower work with the Bad Seeds, but I am officially won over. I have accepted Cave's role as a tremendous singer/songwriter, reminding me at times of Leonard Cohen. This is a pretty harsh Cave/Bad Seeds effort and it reminds me of the Birthday in places. Excellent record.
One can experience every dimension of Nick Cave The Bad Seeds though this album. TBP are great...serrated-edged...filthy and nifty. Nick in the Seeds sounds at times like he's struggling with the music he's trying to pull off (though only 10 percent of the time).
@@spartan.falbion2761I'm looking to experience every dimension of NC&TBS through a deep dive into the back catalogue I foolishly neglected. Listening to the Lyre of Orpheus as we speak. Thanks for the wisdom.
Predivno!
Always brilliant!
Nick Cave is a lot like David Bowie on the cover of the album.
That's what I thought. He looks like he's been taken off the cover of the Pin Ups album ...

Bilbo Baggins Iggy Pop/Soldier comes to mind as well.
Yeah, in my opinion, it reminds me also on David Bowie Cover Artwork style.
My favorite album @@@
en gammal husgud; den här låten blåser ut allt stenkake-knaster som samlat sig i huvet efter 5 månaders insnöat lyssnande på 20-40-talsmusik!
Do you love me (part 2) is probably my favorite nick cave song.
One of the best albums from my youth.
Great album
bought this when it came out still love it
I came here to listen to the first song. I ended up listening to the whole album. So good.
Still a fuking amazing album in 2015
missmangles totally agree!!!
i don't fucking understend the point in all these comments. of cours it is still good .its not like if music wase aging
All of his work is fucking amazing.
Also this stupid saying old BUT gold, where does the but come from?
Still fuking amazing in 2017! It will always be amazing...
Wow! Poetic...creative! LOVE this music!
The chimes really do it for me
How am I just finding this now. Wow
+Lucy Hunt Welcome to the dark side! Check out the rest of his work - you've a wild ride ahead of you:)
+Lucy Hunt [arguably] the best Nick`s album.
+Lucy Hunt I remember when I first listened to Nick Cave about 15 years ago. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I still have goosebumps when I think about that time. :) Enjoy!!!
Never too late...
yeah, sometimes i wonder , how much shit i was listening to in the 90s , then you listen this . better late than never anyway
Nick performed last summer in the Forrest north of canary turnpike on upstate 51. No one even noticed.
I really love this album. Its Beautiful
It's even better then I remember.
Love ya Nick!
Fabulous album
It is amazing how one man can have so many dark songs, yet it is life. xxx I love him. xxxx
i love this man...i listen and listen again
Maravilloso aporte mi estimado, saludos y gracias!!!!
Musicas espectaculares! obrigado.
Just genious ...
This album is so beautiful :(
..talented,. gracefull,.. obligated.....magical.....disciplined......
Earthy Romance and Carnal Carnations. The best ever
LOVE this one! One of my faves. Haunting and beautiful. I believe that I've seen Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds more than any other artist. I believe that number is 15.
Thanks for posting this Aleksandar xxx
Jacqs T Glad you like it. :))
I love it, I'm a huge fan! Thanks again xxx
This album is magical...
PERFECTION!!!!
It's all subjective, I know.....But having just gone through all his albums, delighting in many wonderful songs, IMO his Dig Lazarus Dig! album is his masterpiece. I thought so before but even more so now. It Swings, Grooves, Punches and Rolls seamlessly, has great humour and lyrics from a master storyteller at the peak of his powers. But I'd put Let Love In in his top 3, for sure.
Lazarus is hands down their worst album ever. Mick left after that for a reason, they were done .. Warren's influence has resurrected Nick and the band to their greatest heights ever since then, he and Nick just go from strength to strength.
I realise your comment is from circa 2013 but how you could rate Lazarus ahead of this or Henry's Dream or any '80s album is a complete mystery to me, not to mention the epic No More Shall We Part and the killer double album and the beautiful Boatman's Call and/or The Good Son .. it's not all subjective when you call their most forgettable collection of songs "his masterpiece" sorry that is absurd, as if he only has one which stands above all others and it's that! No, just no.
I feel this so much more today !!!
Amazing album
inspirational. there and back again !.. return each time to the minogue!
Muyyyy buenooo !! este tipo es un genio , poeta y exelente musico , !bravo por Mr. Nick Cave
The strings and layering that grow at 47:00 are DIVINE.
Warren Ellis' first appearance on a Bad Seeds album here, he wasn't even in the band yet, who could have imagined what their collaboration would become? Greatest musical partnership on this planet for the last 10 years or more .. long may it continue :)
Listening to NC in earnest for the first time ever and my mind is getting blown wide open. Fuuuuuck.
Henrys dream best album , this second
I second that.
I used to think the opposite, but Henry's Dream has grown on me immensely in the past ten or so years. "I had a Dream Joe" and "Christina the Astonishing" are a couple of his best.
"The Loom Of The Land" is one of hist top 5 tracks, but Murderballads and this one is my favourite albums
Grandissimo
Álbum da minha vidaaa 🖤🖤
Best album ever
its a shame hes never in the same conversation with the likes of Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Lou Reed, and Moz ....
none of your business you're talking to the wrong people. and the only other person who belongs in a conversation with Nick cave is Shane McGowan.the two are without equal. not an opinion .a fact
What do you mean? Your first three artists are all somehow connected to each other. If you were having a conversation about PJ Harvey or poets in alternative rock I'm sure Nick Cave would be quickly mentioned. I think he's credited and praised enough for what he is.
