This sounds like a 90's Sitcom Plot you Cant fool me pat. Lol
i love these stories. I have a lot of fond memories similar to these. We used to have neighborhood "wars" where kids who lived close together, within a few blocks, would go against kids from another area - so fun. We would organize street hockey tournaments and touch-football tournaments. Miss those days. i seen a meme the other day that really hit the feels button, it said - "At some point in your childhood, you and your friends went outside to play together for the last time and nobody knew it" - this really hits home. I find that friendships came in waves. It starts with the neighborhood kids era or the "camp" era - then moves to Junior/middle school era - Highschool era - college/university era - which can cross-over to adulthood/bar era - crossing over into bar/work era - then it starts to peter-off the older you get. Friends move away/have families etc - then into your late 30s early 40s you're left with barely a handful of friends. And here we are, longing for those days. Memories. Life's too short - enjoy the people in your life while you still can - they won't always be there.

Ah, that takes me back. Reminds me of my youth and the "traumatic experiences" of white suburban cul-de--sac life in the 80's. We're about same age, I also have an older sister by 4 years, and I was younger and smaller than most dudes in the neighborhood. I didn't really have a "Kevin," though. I did have some hoodlums across the street who I was friends with who stole some of my Nintendo games and lied about it to their grandma when I called them out on it. Bastards.
Billy's favorite color was blue, and his brother Jimmy's favorite color was red
you know you just dont see the congregation of kids anymore, we did it back in the 90's when i was growing up but now driving through the old neighborhood you just dont see it.

Sounds like you had some tame bullies Pat..... I was 6 years old getting my head beat with Basketballs by the local 15-17 year old Russian/Somalian kids and getting beat up and thrown into snow mounds. Garbage poured on you etc. Happened all the time to all the smaller kids in Burnsville, MN through out the 90s. Was an everyday thing for many poor kids....
Maplewood/North Saint Paul here, HOLLAH!!! LOL! Yeah, we had some rough bullies around. I got thrown around a bit about 5-6 years old and looking back, it was shit that was waaaayyyyy out of line.
