Aww we have a group of deer in my suburban neighborhood that act just like that. In the last 5 (ish) yrs. I’ve watched them go from super skittish to them rolling their eyes at us cuz they have to pause their snacking to move outta the road. So cute!

Back when I was getting my degree at college, I always wore a camping backpack to school because, even before I lived within walking distance, I used to ride a motorcycle there and it's always nice to have that extra hip strap when you're carrying all your shit for the day to school. I also started out taking notes on a kind of heavy laptop before my mom gave me her old iPad 1 which, despite being quite heavy for an iPad, was still much lighter than my laptop. I also had a lot of labs and stuff so sometimes I had quite a bit of stuff to carry, along with my lunch also because most of the non-snack stuff on campus was stuff I was allergic to so I mostly only ever bought beer at the pub there and snacks from where the chemistry club was selling them because that was in the building in which I had the majority of my classes anyway so it was super convenient.
I always had a great joke for whoever was in the chemistry club room for why I was buying their Snickers all the time and, especially when I had a test in a few minutes, the snacks were important glucose for the brain.

Male deer have antlers. What you saw was probably baby mom, and grandma or aunt.

Seriously, you need a very sharp knife to dice up anything. The trick with tomatoes is not to use the plump squishy ones. Unless I'm doin a sauce in which case a blender does wonder. Now how to actually dice a mater. Cut the top off, save it, and proceed to slice the mater up in about quarter in sclices. Till you get to the bottom. Save that too. Next reform the mater slices and then just starting doing vertical cuts and now comes the easy part. Takes as many as the strips you will need and just dicing them up. Why I said save the ends? because you can core them and dice them too. No waste!.
As far as knives go, I have about a dozen. My favorite is the Camillus Titanium. It takes and holds a good edge. I use two. One is my bushcrafting knife. The other is cutlerry. Just have to keep in mind which hip holds which knife lol.
Your right about the deer. There is a difference between city deer and country deer. You would never gotten that close and that interactive with a country deer. Still it was nice to see how you handled it. There's been a few times I found myself right in the middle of a herd. I mean we're talking petting zoo closeness. great vid, loved it.

I would suggest the next time you're out close to a Arby's roast beef restaurant. Pick up some packets of mayo and horsey sauce and you're all set. You don't even need to take a dollop of mayo. You've already got the packets ready to go.
Same with ketchup and mustard and salt and pepper in packets.

Great Small Plot Those deer are used to humans, but they still gave you an early warning. Your little deer buddy was looking to play in the middle of the night! You'll know a human sound, humans are very noisy even when they try to be quiet!!!

Use a twig stove it’s small enough to hide the flames and smoke but useful enough to boil water and use it for other food cooking
I have one, its pretty cool! The only reason i haven't used it is because most of the time I just use the fire as ambiance, and a twig stove would take endless twigs 😅

Hold tomatoe in your hand and cut down then crosswise then across let it fall into recipe. Sharpen your knife on a flint stone bf cutting. Camping and whittling go hand and hand. Otherwise Pour your tomatoe juice into ur tuna package. Camp on!!

For dicing in that atmosphere I would recommend first of all a sharp knife and if you have to use a Wally one use Roma tomatoes. Saw instead of pressing to let the knife grip and slice then dice after. Thank you for the content man.

Hey, honey. To cut a tomato with a dull knife, take a bit of the peel off and cut through flesh, not peel. Turn it over and cut through the flesh and have the peel on the bottom touching the cutting board. It will cut rather than smash. At least it will be a bit better. Those hot house tomatoes have tough skin. You need a very sharp knife. I’m a trained chef and I still hate cutting tough tomato skin!❤TN Nana

These days I have 3: two gopros, and the camera on my s22 ultra. I'm pretty organized within Premiere pro so it's not too bad to go through. I organize everything chronologically and by camera, with my s22 ultra doing most of the B roll (random shots of nature, city, camp, etc) that I can plug in as a "scene" buffer. A typical episode takes about 6 hours to edit, sometimes less, sometimes more.
It's funny...when I was a kid in the 70's...abandoned buildings and construction sites as welll as train tracks were are play ground..nj in the seventies.
now they're a playground for me as a grown man in ny in the twenties!

Talk about having a bad day.....went steelhead fishing with my Nephew yesterday. First pole cracked 3/4 of the way up-that fish got away. 2nd pole the reel just stopped working, that fish got away. 3rd pole was a dud the rest of the trip-not one nibble. Lmmfao. My nephew caught 3, 2 were keepers. Funny, i'm already amped up for our next trip. Hahahahahahahah.

Kevin, thanks for the videos! question, maybe a dumb one, but what do you do when your out there? like do you just chill and not do anything basically for hours? I really like camping and stealth camping but its either on a hike or with a friend. I have been wanting to test out a stealth spot by my house but honestly i keep thinking to myself what am i supposed to do? ill probs just sit in my hammock or tent and watch youtube videos until i fall asleep, or stare into space as i dont drink or smoke i guess much like at home. Hahaha i am just kidding kinda, but thanks again for the videos would love to start a channel one day.
Good question! I do a bunch of stuff. There's definitely some idle sitting, but the woods itself can be entertaining. This episode i had an almost 2.5 hour livestream, that passed the time pretty well. Sometimes I'll download a podcast (i have YT premium and Spotify Premium, both allow you to download content beforehand so you don't use up data) and, of course, filming takes a lot of time as well!

Tomatoes require serration, gotta get through the tough skin. I have a knife that is literally made for tomato (it even has "tomato" cut intot he blade lol) it's just a straight small knife with a very fine serration, you want small sharp teeth, not a saw, but just a nice fine serrated edge, it cuts through it so well, use a gentle sawing motion.
Oh also, if you don't have a serrated knife, something I use as a trick for anything with a skin, is to use the tip of the knife to make a small incision where you want to slice, then use the blade to finish the slice. Using the tip breaks the fruit's skin more cleanly with no pressure to the flesh inside, and then the blade can easily separate from that initial cut. I did that with some eggplants the other day because I didn't want to switch knives and get a serrated one but it was impossible to slice into the skin with the blade.
Tomatoes don't require a knife with serrations. I have high quality non-serrated very sharp knives that pass through a tomato like air.

Okay, at the 50 minute mark when you had something moving around you all I could think of was just hanging out near you and as you started talking about something being near you, I start talking about something dangling from the trees.
