  • Beef goulash (or Beef Stew) is very popular europian food especially in Czechia, Hungary (porkolt), Germany, Austria, Slovenia (golaž) etc. This recipe represents classic type of goulash containing beef meat, onions and spices. The consistency of goulash is thick and it is commonly served with bread, dumplings or it is also good with pasta or rice. Once you will try this recipe, you won't be using another one!
    Ingredients for The Best Beef Goulash
    800 g beef (leg, neck)
    400 g onions
    4 tablespoons lard or oil
    2 tablespoons tomato puree
    1 litre beef stock
    2 tablespoons sweet paprika
    2 tablespoons smoked paprika
    1 chilli pepper
    teaspoon crushed cumin
    6 garlic cloves
    2 slices of stale bread
    dried marjoram
    salt, black pepper
    for garnish: fresh onion
    How To Make Beef Goulash Step by Step
    1. Dice the meat, add salt and pepper. Dice the onions, old bread and press the garlic.
    2. Cook the onions until golden brown, add meat, cook and then add the spices.
    3. Pour the pot with broth or water and cook until meat is soft.
    4. Cook uncovered until thicken, add salt, pepper, marjoram and garlic.
    5. Serve with your favourite side dish.
