I think this ASMR roleplay has been requested for going on two years now, so I thought I’d finally cut to it and slice up an edit. There’s no singing in it (ha), but you can expect a low, intimidating London accent along with very up-close personal attention and shaving sounds, as well as mic scratching, brushing, and threatening ear to ear whispers (with some unfortunate ambient noises - apologies!). 🎙 What is ASMR? 🎧
ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is synaesthesia of the soul. It’s a relaxing feeling, it’s a tingling down the spine, or it’s simply a sleep aid. Whether it’s being ‘held’ by someone you have confidence in, or ‘looked after’ by someone with authority, or just feeling ‘safe’ with someone you trust, it uses audio-visual triggers to enable you to let go of your worries and stresses - even just for a bit.
📽 What is FPC? 🎞
FPC (first person cinema) takes all the relaxing elements of ASMR but has much more of a focus on immersion and the suspension of disbelief. It’s kinda like being the main character in your own short movie, with popular figures you know and love, or entirely created worlds - just for you. There won’t be any visible mics or traditional triggers in these videos, and they will seem more unintentional than the usual ASMR videos - but they are unique and relaxing experiences designed to transport you to different places, worlds, and times.

So first, voice is so spot on I didn't even miss the singing. Second, love the tingles, metal on leather reminds me of my grandfather when he would shave, the sheer anticipation of the razor "slipping" had my heart rate up (in a good way), the overall ambiance with the lighting and color scheme. Third, merch idea, I would so buy a tee shirt that reads "I survived Sweeny Todd's chair and got a pie!" with your visage. Just saying. This is exactly how I pictured Sweeney Todd - intimidating and menacing but somehow makes you believe you’re at ease and relaxed, even with a freshly sharpened razor at your throat (and definitely no singing lol)

Im an actor that is in the rehearsal process for a production of sweeney todd so i searched this out of plain curiosity if anyone had done this yet. And of course your the only one. Im not shocked at all. Sweeney todd barber asmr. Its perfect. Jim your recreation of depps sweeney is spot on. The lighting, the costume, the makeup, the wig. All of it. Spot on. Phenomenal work sir 🙏🏻

Jim! I recently stumbled across the movie, "Gattaca." The plot is essentially about a world where your potential in life is dictated by your genetics, and if you aren't born with good genetics then no company or organization wants to hire you because they don't believe you are worth the time or effort to train. Anyway, there is one guy determined to change his future by faking his identity so he can become an astronaut. In order to do that, he has to gain the help of a "broker" that will pair him up with an individual of higher tier genetics so that he may assume his identity. I believe you could do an amazing job roleplaying this broker. Anyway, awesome video as always, and thanks for all the work!

Holy smokes I forgot I was watching ASMR and just started singing sondheim to myself. This was masterful also so surprised by the end lol. (To the tune A Little Priest) Have some ASMR. It's the best by far. Seasoned with various noises and whispered voices from afar, much on par, with flavors to make you feel your a Czar!

Lovely time! Happy to have survived! ☺️ Sweeney Todd (the musical) has been a favorite of mine since high school and sparked in me an interest for penny dreadfuls and Victorian ghost stories/horror.
I enjoyed all the little details and definitely the whisper. Good rationale for ear-to-ear! Interesting that Todd would use both the strop and the whetting stone-the finest for His Majesty, and the quotidian for Todd’s working blade?
If I had substantial facial hair, I would 100% make a special trip to a swanky tonsorial parlor and get a hot towel shave with a straight razor.
Btw shave soap in a jar or puck is 1000% better than the stuff in a can. Plus you can make fun percussive sounds whilst whipping up the lather. :3

Never tried a straight razor but single blade is the way to go for both murder and hair removal. My winning combo is a Feather New Hi-Stainless double edge blade in a Feather Popular. Mmm smooth as a baby’s cadaver.
