If you hydrate the brick in a container that doesn't have holes, it will hydrate up with that first couple of gallons of water without having to refill more and more water.

Btw fun fact...Coco does have nutrition, its locked away, its actually reallly high in Phosphorus. The way you retrieve the nutrients is to build a microbial foundation including different types of fungus to break down the coco and retrieve the locked up nutrients. This is mainly beneficial later down the line when your plants are fruiting and all that extra stored Phosphorus will aid in making big and tasty fruits, as well as producing more fruits.

You should look into activated horticulture charcoal or activated biochar to add to your soil to housed soil microbes in pots and containers.
How long can the trees stay in the storage containers. I love this idea and want to try it.

Can you please tell me when you plant fruit trees in zone 8. I’ve planted a lemon tree last year and it’s 3 feet tall has thrones but still no fruit. Do I need to plant flowers buy it for pollination?

Need yourself a cheap concrete mixer to mix up all the coco/soil/compost/nutrients
Why bury the pot just to pull it out and remove it, why not remove the pot to start?

Why not put them in the ground
Those containers will start falling apart in 2-3 years time so I hope you have future plans to replant them.
