Yes! 400-500 is what these are truly worth. I used buy these at this price point. 750 is outrageous. Arcade1 will soon realize.

To be fair if i were them, arcade 1up, i would do the same. What i mean is that, so long as people buy arcade 1up products at those prices, i do not understand why they should lower the prices.
I am a fan of those home arcade companies, arcade 1 up being the best for me ( i am italian, living in italy), but objectively speaking the prices are a little too much for many people. According to some rumors, Arcade 1up is going to create a sort of premium cabinet in the next future and the price, of couse, will be increased accordingly.
Are they going to fail? In my honest opinion i do not think so. They will sell less cabinet for sure but in the long run they are going to attact more casual customers that as of now barely know this company for pacman only.
Only time will tell!
@@andfonseb You are right,these aren’t Gen 1 cabs either and that’s what people ignore. Initially,these were going to sell for $400.00 but they had to dip their toe in the market,so they cut $100.00 off. People still complained,but in the end,it’s a business. They need to make money or it will die. Now they have better monitors,include light up marquee,controller bezel protector with sometimes a light up feature,dual speakers,themed risers and themed stool,WiFi,
/Live feature. And as of recent,molded coin doors. Not to mention,what these go for on secondary market. The folks who thought they paid too much for the Star Wars cab are now happy they made the $500.00 purchase.

To my humblest opinion it does not make much sense to complain, just for the sake of it. Any company main reason to exist is to make money, no more no less. People that keeps complaing about those prices were, perhaps, the same that were happy when arcade 1up introduced those feautures that you have already talked about, on 400 dollars cabinets.
Those prices, though, with all the new licenses such as T2, simpsons, Ki were meant to increase. Now as some people might be thinking that i am shiiling for Arcade 1up, well,i am not. I, as customer, would love to see a drop price as soon as possible but with all the international economic situation going on, i do not think i will happen anytime soon.

Since they went ahead and mixed publishers they should have gotten the SEGA Spider-Man Arcade beatem up (also 4 players) and added it to this to keep with the Marvel theme.

Just FYI - I'm not sure if you follow X-Men religiously when you were young, but all the content in the game is accurate. Weird as it may be lol. The "industrial robots" are Sentinels. You were in the Sentinel’s factory. Also, Cyclops is a brawler; he has hand-to-hand abilities like Captain America. Cyclops description from Marvel - "Skilled martial artist and hand-to-hand combatant" "Cyclops also knows akido and judo and can even fight blind". His "Optical blasts" are technically not too effective in close range. Think like Captain’s Shield, used very regularly, but not his only tool in the arsenal. So I can understand a bit why they didn't just want him blasting everything ;).

Great comment! But does Colossus freak out and eminate energy? That one seemed weird to me too - and I know Sentinels but I meant the construction/laser bots in stage 2

Actually yes, Colossus used to freak out all the time in the comics and kill peeps. He had rage worse than Wolverine. I always took the arcade power as their best estimate for translating his rage into beat-em-up gameplay. Same with Nightcrawler - he's supposed to "bampf" when teleporting, not zip around. The devs had to come up with ways to make their powers effectively clear out all enemies on screen.
On the first episode of the 90s xmen cartoon cyclops cuts a sentinal in half wit his optic blast

Love the coin doors man. I would buy them for all my other cabinets if they would release them. But knowing arcade1up they won't. I think it would be a great addition to make more realistic looking cabinets.

It is steep for sure.For me though I still bought it because I absolutely loved playing this game in arcades.I guess I couldn’t put a price on bringing that back lol
Hi. So having worked in plastic fabrication for over 20 years. Both laser cutting and CNC. The plastic problem is probably due to a few things. The plastic that was used was probably on the shelf for far too long. The plastic protective covering can have a shelf life and be harder to remove. Also if the deck of laser cut. If not done properly the protective covering can bond a bit the plastic you are cutting so it sticks to the edges, and even curls under a bit. Also, and how shall I say it. As plastic of lesser quality value might contribute. Their are grades to plastics.
There's levels to this plastics game! Thanks for the insight on this case it may be the curling under effect but it's mostly the pinching of the wrap against screws (in the bezel) and the light strip (deck protector)
It’s too much. You can literally buy full size cabinets, with classic art (or add your own) running this game and thousands more for a lower price.
These are amazing and fantastic products, but they need to not forget their place.
It’s retro ikea furniture with some electronics running a few old roms. It’s a nostalgia piece.
They’re charging hundreds more than a PS5 for gods sake 🤣
$350.00 is the sweet spot on these.
$400.00 is fine if it’s a four player or features a gimmick (light gun or steering wheel).
Hopefully they’ll stop the insanity.
Great review brother! We gotta meet up online and run thru the game this week. Beautiful cabinet, I agree I wish they added some more games like Sunset Riders. With the deck protector, it does slide out from the light up part. There’s the protective wrap on both sides of the deck protector that need to be peeled off. 👍
Nice mine must just be stuck and I was scared to force it. I peeled both sides but need it out so I can get a bit that broke off. I should be able to get on tonight my dude
@@UnqualifiedCritics I know just what you mean, had the same problem. Just flip the control deck over and unscrew the light bar. There's like 3 or 4 screws. Slides right out after that.
Sunset Riders? Spider-Man The Arcade Game would’ve been the best option.
The games list and button layout makes it a No-Go for me UC.

Cabs look great, but at $600-750 for these they've finally hit their peak. I went ahead and bought an AtGames Legends for $499. I won't be needing more A1Ups.

At least they have more buttons making them more mod friendly. Marvel games are usually just reskins of equal or better games. I prefer to build my own arcade cabinet and have everything I could ever want included. I did my own custom station and am more happy than having any cabinets plus it's not that expensive.

You can remove the deck protector from the control panel. So get that plastic off there! Just got mine for $399 priced matched at RC Willey let’s go!

X-Men...X-Men....I really wanted this cab...but really the deciding factor is the high price. I saw the Gamestop price for 699 but still alot. 499 would be a ideal price. Another is the limited room i have for 4player cabs this is why i cancelled my Simpsons cab too. Hopefully down the line they will make a Konami legacy or a mashup beatem cab. Luckily i still have the ps3 Simpson's and X-Men games stil😁.

Good review of the X-men cab. The molded coin doors look very nice on the cab and adds that arcade cabinet believability to it. I definitely agree that at $700 - $750 is too steep of a price for buy for just 3 games and a stool. If they added several more Konami and Data East games to the cabinet(though I understand that the game library from both companies will be far different from the Marvel games listed) like SunsetRiders, Vendetta, etc. then it would be worth the money to put into the cabinet plus adding a 20 inch monitor to the cabinet since it's pretty much mandatory to have it at this point now if higher prices are the norm for Ac1up to markup on newer cabinets.
Agree with you 100%. X-Men and KI are holy Grail cabinets for me but I'm going to wait and pick them up later just because of the price Good stuff thanks
I bought the TMNT machine for $349 from walmart free shipping. The fact that this cost more than twice as much is appalling. Even with inflation and even with the cabinet upgrade I think $450 would've been a good price for this cabinet.
The price is a giant leap too far. I expect lots of people will get bored with the games and mod this cab with a retropie.
Little off topic but as of 6am ET this morning I found 2 Star Wars sit down cabs on Walmart for $449. I just bought 1 of them and it'll be here Thursday so there is 1 left! Act fast!! WOOOOOOOOO!!

I really wanted a 4 player cab for my gameroom, but I decided to go with Simpsons instead (though since the Walmart orders got delayed until January I have to wait). X-men is still a great game. If it was a bit cheaper and I wasn't starting to run out of space then I would consider it.

Pricing is tight, but Killer Instinct got bumped up to $849.99CAD so could be worse.
The perfect fit for a 3rd or 4th game would have been Spider-Man:The Arcade Game. HUGE missed opportunity there & with that price point I just can’t seem to warrant a purchase currently.

Every time I’ve played online, if I can actually connect to their online servers it’s been the same experience as you’ve had with the slow down and audio lag. Eventually I just turned the Online off unfortunately.
I've got Big Blue. Good luck finding anybody there. The online is a gimmicky novelty with limited user base.
Dropped to 350 finally. Waited and picked it up for it, all reviews are folks paying like 800 bucks and price talk like half of review

I love the look of this cab and iam a big fan of the Xmen game but for the price is a tough pill to swallow as there not alot of replay value from 2 of the 3 games. Adleast with Simpsons which is the same price (unless you get the cab with no stool) you get alot more replay with Simpsons Bowling. Iam going to wait and see if Xmen ends up on some Konami 4 player legacy cab or a Mavel Legacy cab
I’m a huge X-Men fan, but I did the same with ordering Simpsons. The bowling has a lot more replay and the Simpsons beat em up Atleast has mini games and places from the show .

You mentioned some trouble removing the protective film on the deck protector. I noticed that on my Class of '81 cabinet as well. I unscrewed the LED bar from underneath and noticed that the plexi isn't attached. Just seems like it's a little "stickier" than the previous cabinets. I don't think it's necessary to unscrew the LED bar to remove it though. Best I can tell, it just has a bit more friction than before.
Love the coin doors on this cabinet and really hope they become a standard on future cabs. Be nice if they also sold the part separately or (daydream with me a little here) sold replacement kickplates for previous gen cabinets with the new coin door and modified graphics to fit around it. /swoon
agree - would buy replacement kickplates for all my cabs to match everything up if priced reasonably but.. that'll never happen. And good insight on the deck protector, I'll try pulling it out
As bad as I wanted the X-Men and Simpsons cabs, I would buy a PS5 off the after market before I spent $750 for them
Glad I got this for $599 at Target, but even at that price it’s a stretch. Not worth it at a $699 or $750 price point (I don’t think any A1up is worth that price)
Arcade 1up's deal should be 10 games per each cabinet for $500 including delivery fee. Plus tax.

Personally I've always been a true MULTICADE kind of guy. The thing that is getting me about these extremely expensive 1ups is the fact that there are so many cheaper and frankly better ways to play these games. I get the novelty of having an officially licensed cabinet for your favorite title, but at some point it becomes a financial decision. Not to mention space is also at a premium. In my view, no Arcade1Up or any other home arcade option should ever exceed the $499 price point. Anything over that is beyond mass market appeal.
Right. $750 puts this in the realm of financial decision for a lot of people, myself included

Thanks for the review! Yeah, it sucks when you can't completely gush over a cabinet you buy. Arcade1up's X-Men didn't have enough value for me as well, especially at $700+. I think the closest Arcade1up got to delivering a value 4-Player cab (at least to me) was the Golden Axe II: Revenge of Death Adder (especially at $399). But even that one fell short for me, because given the space real-estate it takes up, and only having one 4-Player game included, it wasn't going to cut it. Seeing Arcade1up continuing to release better value cabinets after their initial releases, the Legacy line for example, and the ability to make available cabs including games from multiple publishers, makes me hold WAY OFF when it comes to even considering one of their 4-Player cabinets (especially given the room I have left). I truly believe Arcade1up is going to release some sort of Konami 4-Player "Legacy" cab with at least 12 (4-Player) games included (including games, The Simpsons, the TMNT games, and X-Men). I also wouldn't be surprised if they threw Golden Axe II: Revenge of Death Adder on it as they already have the license (and won't share it with iiRcade, speculation of course :P).
Yeah, Arcade1up showed their hand clearly when it comes to buying their first run cabs. DON'T. I still have buyers remorse over getting Marvel Super Heroes only to have a Marvel Vs. Capcom cab come out with more games, wifi, and Marvel Super Heroes included. As the band, The Who, so aptly put it: "I won't get fooled again."
Now, of course, I could be wrong, but I'm still holding off. I never again want to feel the way I did getting Arcade1up's Marvel Super Heroes cab.

The MVSX had fifty titles for $500
Luckily target did ship my 600 preorder and I got it. I’m a huge marvel fan and loved this game as a kid. However even with the x men cabinet going with my x men figure collection it’s hard to justify it. My kids love it but it’s so short. I still need to play the avengers game. With the price I had to ship Simpson because they are just to much now.
How can 1up get Marvel vs Capcom online running fast, responsive and lag free, but can’t get generic beat em up to run fast? Good review. I’ll wait for price drop.

Great review! I'm not into the new $700 plus cabs because we should be getting 20" screens at that price. The stools are just a distraction they we are getting ripped off.

I don’t have any problems with my deck protector off,it slid right out nice and easy
The wifi on my x men and turtles for online gaming is very laggy and half the time the turtles cabinet has nobody to play with.
My X-men online has been bad ever since my review. Hope they fix soon

Looks great but price is to high. And other than as a display piece the light up deck is a silly gimmick. Looking at the screen while playing you don't see the deck. It's like that stupid light on the dual shock 4. The coin door is a very nice touch though. Walmart is going to have to save the day again.

I'm sure I missed this elsewhere but are the coin doors completely for visual effect or are they functional in any respect? Arcade1up indicates that they are "molded" in the descriptions but they look pretty pretty convincing - definitely much better than the stickers.
visual effect only. The fake coin return buttons are translucent though so it would be easy to light them up, but they aren't real buttons that input credits

Can you help me out and tell me what your volume is like? My cab is super quiet and I have to have it just about maxed to get a decent sound level out of it 😕
The boot animation sound is super loud then the overall volume is on the quiet side

Tmnt can get loud as hell, mk legacy was so quiet I had to access the ejb menus to crank it up, street fighter legacy again loud as hell and now x men so quiet. Keep up the vids my man you are my go to for home arcade news.
Try the beer can trick to get the volume louder . Till the machine back and pour a can of beer into the speaker holes . It gets loud as F after that

Point blank : too pricey. I’ve read some of your comments about the company needing to make money. What I’d like to see IS what the company is raking in profit wise. (Im sure someone can find that info,) If they ARENT making a ton of $$, then i can accept the price spike, but from what ive witnessed with other companies, is that GREED is the main reason for the increase 🤨🤷🏼♂️
I don't think you'll find that info as they're a private company and don't have to disclose. I did see an investor presentation of theirs but it only spoke of market opportunity and licensing reach, not numbers

I'm fine with the price. These are items I've always wanted and now have a chance to get, it's more about the collecting aspect than cash. Luckily I have disposable income, so that's a plus. Would more games been nice? Of course, but love the way this looks.
Too rich for my blood. When these were the budget home arcade products at $300-400 the build quality was forgivable, but not at $700. I understand that the costs dictate the price of the product, but there's a reasonable limit to what most customers are willing to pay for a cabinet of this quality.

No, all 3 are online and the leader boards are really great and add a ton in replay value.
not worth more then 400. they should have decided to release arcade1up "hall of fame edition" cabs. with lit marquee, stool,riser,wifi,21inch screen, dual speakers and sanwa controls at a 599 price point I would pay for that in a second.
Sunset riders or any other game outside of Marvel doesn't go with the theme.

I recd my Simpsons cab only to return within 15 minutes....didnt even fully unpack or assemble. Trackball is complete failure. It's about the size of a golf ball and yellow....it is not like pics as advertised where it looks like golden tee trackball. It is cheap and toy like. For $699 it is an absolute let down. Very disappointed.

A1UP confirmed that Simpsons cab does not have the trackball shown in videos and that they advertised. Instead you will get a small yellow and black trackball. Wish I could post a pic on here. I took pic with golf ball next to trackball
