It's admirable that he wants to be known as a great fighter and no doubt he will. But his story is truly inspirational and when I heard it I instantly became a fan. His story of perseverance transcends MMA and could inspire people around the world.
Ian & Lerone don't understand that if u insist on a specific date & location especially when it's on shorter notice than usual, u most likey won't get the higher ranked opponent u want but u can get a lower ranked opponent who'll jump at the opportunity to fight u the higher ranked fighter, even on short notice (risk vs reward). However, u can get the higher ranked opponent at a different & later date (compromise/give & take).
But he's willing to do all that. For him, right now, he's on a row and he's earning good money. Each fights that he wins, his pay check goes up VERY substantially. In MMA, you don't have too many years, once you have fought your way to be someone in the Top 15 or Top 10. Just a few years left to earn all of your money in your prime years. Every $100K to $300K pay check is a lot of money. Again, you don't see the $100K+ until YEARS of digging trenches for the UFC for nothing. So, once you get to the $100K, you want as many fights, as frequently, as possible.
