Between the four walls of a home and around the people you love, exists most of your life. That was all true for 13 year old Aarushi. Little did she know, though, on the night of 15th May, in that very home, those very people were about to conspire to commit murder…her murder. And they were going to succeed, making sure she never saw the light of another day. This is the story of what really went down inside house L-32 in Sector 25, Noida on the night of 15th May 2008. The title of this case should not be called "The Aarushi Talwar Case". It should be called "Aarushi Talwar and Hemraj Banjade Case", "Aarushi and Hemraj Case" or as it is generally known as "2008 Noida Double Murder Case". Hemraj's life was also equally important.

I lost my 22 year old son to cancer. I did not scream or cry in front of people. My whole world ended, but I don't cry in front of people, so I can understand her not crying. Grief is an individual process.
I have heard probably hundreds of covers of this case....but never with this precision....such a great work..
Finally getting to this much awaited case! Leaving the truth behind, one thing that grinds my gear till today is how much the investigation was botched up by the Noida police, to the extent that digging up the truth now is too difficult and almost impossible! In my opinion, don't know whether Krishna or his friends did it or not, but Rajesh and Nupur definitely didn't do it!

I too have been obsessed with this case and it pains me immensely to see Aarushi never get any justice because of the incompetency of our police. If those 3 men did it, we have murderers roaming around us freely.

Hemraj treated Arushi like his own daughter and was a very soft spoken, kind man. My house help of 19 years knows this entire clan because all Nepalis stay in touch when in India. That we too live in Noida, this is a city/state group. He confirmed that it was Krishna and the two others who did it. We approached the police but nobody was interested in listening to us because there was no direct connection with the case.
Both Arushi and Hemraj didn’t deserve this tragic death. Neither did Rajesh and Nupur deserve such a shoddy treatment because the Noida police botched up the critical initial investigation. May Arushi and Hemraj find eternal peace!

My only question to you is if the outsiders killed Hemraj then why would they lock his body in upstairs and put a cooler lid to cover it so that nobody can find out that he is killed and his body is upstairs.
Because the instant response of the outsider would be to immediately run away from the house. Only the parents could do this so that the police will be busy in finding Hemraj outside and when the matter cools down the parents will dispose of Hemraj's body. And the case will be closed forever stating that Hemraj ran away after killing arushi and police were not able to find him out.
What a brilliant plan by her parents.
I've heard this case from so many other crime channels. Yours is literally the best, with much more nuance, much more questions I hadn't thought about earlier (for example when Aryaan pointed out the detail about the loud air-conditioner), much more information and of course, the best narration. i am not sure who really killed her but the worst thing about this case is how things were treated and carried about after she passed away.She was constantly berated and this was not something which was needed especially to a 13 year old and considering the fact that she might be sexually active and not investigated upon properly completely blows my mind off and deciding that she was characterless because she did stuff like that.Let's not even forget about how the police team did not even bother to collect proper evidence it was like they had not cared enough about it at all they just wanted it to be finished as soon as possible and like how the police chief did not even know her name shows how much they really cared about this case and the way they tried to point fingers at anyone they wanted to all the plausible logical theories were disregarded by the media because they wanted something that was masaledaar so ultimately a lot of things were messed up in this entire case and including the fact that the crime scene was completely botched and even if it would have had led to something important this case just remains unsolved and a huge failure of our justice system

This is extremely poorly researched. There is an actual documentary that gets into the details of why Krishna's narco-test results were not admissible (spoiler alert: there was coercion involved). This just looks like you watched the movie Talwar and did none of your own research

There is a 4-part documentary on Disney Hotstar IIRC. I watched it some 3-4 years ago. It goes into much more detail than this. Also, I am convinced that the parents (read the dad) did it. There are things which don't make sense otherwise. Watch that documentary closely to understand what I mean.
There was a recent video on parents after their acquital..they have become spiritual after the incident and said initially they weren't..there is a guilt feeling in their statements how much ever they appear normal.. still wondering what actually happened..so many versions, movies ..wish the childs soul gets justice

hey desi fam il ove that u guys covered this case. these is smth i belive in. okay guys I believe Aarushi wasn't the primary victim, it was Hemraj. Aarushi might've been the witness to either the crime or the culprit. all the theories ever made were just to put Aarushi as the primary focus, not Hemraj. just because Aarushi's body was found first in her own house and the lack of investigation led the entire case in the wrong direction. none of the theories proposed has made sense. they r full of loopholes. my theory is as follows:
on the day of the murder, Hemraj was the only one acting weird and odd, he didn't have dinner also he did receive a 6-minute call from someone that day around 8 pm and the phone location was traced as being just 1km away from Talwar's house. probably the person or supposed culprit planned to meet Hemraj that day for smth serious. also during the leading days to the murders, Hemraj had once said that he was scared for his life. still, if this doesn't back up the theory, I have more to present. Hemraj's room had 2 doors one where u could entire his room without directly entering the main house and a second that opened into the main house adjacent to Aarushi's room. the person might've come to Hemraj to threaten him or smth as some glasses were found in his room. probably they started arguing and Hemraj might have suggested going to the rooftop and discussing as noise would wake up the Talwar family. they went to the rooftop and during a fit of rage amongst disagreements the culprit killed Hemraj, the blood splatters were indeed found on the rooftop signaling murder occurred there not in the house and dragged as the police believe. also, note why this is plausible cause during that time hemraj was in charge of rooftop keys during that time. now the culprit came down the stairs with blood on their hands so some of it made it to the stairs. As being frustrated and angry while coming down, probably drunk too, they might've tried to enter back to Hemraj's room and probably found Aarushi's room open. to note, her mother said that she doesn't recall shutting her door that night. the culprit might have thought that Aarushi witnessed everything, and might've killed her in sleep. there was no sexual motive, she only died because she might have witnessed, as killed in sleep hence no noise. hence parents didn't get alerted. it is noted that Aarushi's body was covered with sheets also said that when the murders tried to cover their victim's body, probably felt remorseful or wanted to give some respect to the victim, which maybe cause again Aarushi's murder was unplanned. later the culprit with anger stole Aarushi's and Hemraj's phone and rooftop keys, pulled out a bottle to drink, and entered Hemraj's washroom to cleanup also, said that more than one person used Hemraj's washroom that day. then proceeded to leave the house from the first door of Hemraj's room directly leading out of the house and latched from outside. I might be wrong sorry for my poor English guys. pls read and reply

I strongly believe that her parents killed her, but there is no conclusive evidence because the initial police investigation was not done properly.Reason: If someone from outside had killed Hemraj, why would they hide his body upstairs and cover it with the cooler lid? Only the parents would do this so the police would keep searching for Hemraj outside. When things calmed down, the parents could dispose of Hemraj's body.Additionally, when Aarushi's mom called Hemraj's phone in the morning, it was immediately disconnected and then switched off. The investigation showed the phone was within the area of the murder scene, meaning someone inside the house turned it off. Since Aarushi and Hemraj were already dead, only Aarushi's father could have done this.I am not challenging the CBI's investigation, but these two points clearly indicate that her parents are the real killers.The reason why they killed her can be anything. Possible scenarios include:Aarushi's father got into a heated argument with Hemraj and accidentally killed him. Aarushi witnessed this, and they felt they had no choice but to kill her too, as it would be difficult to convince a 14-year-old to stay quiet.Aarushi may have discovered something incriminating, such as wife-swapping, and threatened to tell her grandparents. Her father then threw her against a wall, causing a fatal head injury. Hemraj saw this, so he was killed too.In most cases, a killer would eliminate any witnesses, no matter who they are. It might have been easier to convince the wife not to tell anyone.

A weird detail about the day of the murder is that; when the police first arrived and the forensic samples were collected Rajesh and Nupur Talwar asked the police if they were done with the sample collection and proceeded to clean the blood around Arushi and on her in a very weirdly normal routine and weirdly enough the police didn't care about it and let them do it. I mean I know they're doctors but dude that's your daughter. On the day of the murder, Ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was visiting a nearby hospital so the police were more invested and interested in that which led to the shittiest investigation ever. About the Infamous Nupur Talwar interview, It was on Arushi's birthday that the interview happened and the way she reacted was neither too emotional nor too Cold it just seems soo to the point and scripted. I'm sorry for being over-enthusiastic I just love True crime and being a forensic Psychology student I can't help but go on blabbering about cases.
I don’t know if this theory runs with the facts at hand, but what if the two murders were not committed by a single person but by different people. What if both the accused parties were at guilt. Just a random theory, but what if Hemraj was actually forcing himself on to Arushi on the said night, things got out of hand, and she banged her head on the corner of the bed and got unconscious. This led Hemraj into believing that this would leave a trace of what he tried to do if she wakes up considering she was hurt considerably. So to save himself, he killed her by slitting her throat. Then, what if the father woke up at that time and witnessed this and in a fit of rage hit Hemraj to unconsciousness. He then took him to the roof and cut his throat and came back home early in the morning so that he could pin it on the right culprit of her murder. Maybe he planned to dispose off Hemrajs body later after all the investigation was through. Maybe this wasn’t an honor killing but a revenge one. Just a thought. Still all we can do is keep guessing since not enough DNA evidence is available to determine if the blood came from 2 sources. However, this theory would justify why the toys were kept there post mortem, as a homage to their daughter in the last few grieving minutes before the case opened up the way it did.
After so many years, hearing 100's of version, came here to get actual insight and I'm left teary eyes... we fail as system, we fail as humans, we fail as basic of education and grade system in work... the vikram and napur is never going to get their daughter back....

I most probably assume that the Talwars were both high functioning ASPD people, and thus were behaving in a very controlled and calculated way.

What about Arushi’s private parts being cleaned by disinfectants that was the major reason for the Talwars to be the main suspects

1. Head injury was anti mortem and throat slit was post mortem for both the victims.
2. Dr Talwar offered money to the police to bring back Hemraj and that indicates misleading the investigation.
3. The magnitude of PR including a movie has been done in this case along with the teams of elite lawyers speaks for itself.
Why was aishwariya smiling when she was saying her teacher lived in that building as if it was some myth or legend and not the gruesome murder of a 13 year old 😒
i have read and watched different versions of this case from reading hundreds of articles to watching the movie then listening to diff news channel and then podcast never in those times i believed the theory that the parents killed arushi talwar until i listened to the hatel parekh case, now i cannot unsee the similarities it feels like i finally found a closure to this case for myself through your podcast.

What I don’t understand is that if the AC in their room was so loud that they couldn’t hear anything, how did Nupur hear the doorbell when Bharti rang at 6am? Something doesn’t add up
It is most likely that the compressor of window acs turn on and off every 10-30 minutes when the room reaches the temperature which is set in the thermostat. When only the fan is running you can hear sounds more clearly than when the compressor is running
I have been in houses where the air conditioner is so noisy you don't know anything happening beyond the room. On top of that when you are also at night....i can totally believe it
Its not her parents...it was someone Hemraj knew...the killer's target was Hemraj and not Arushi...but somehow Arushi could have heard a commotion coming from Hemraj's room, so she walked towards the living room, saw the killer or witnessed the crime..the killer then had no choice but to kill her too..murder weapon was a kukri used by Nepalese people

One of the most tragic cases for which I always wait for any update. Where the culprit has escaped so easily. The part where Aarushi was an easy girl isnt true, I guess. I was living in Delhi when this murder happened. Never heard such a thing. In any case, never have a male help living in the house, esp if there is a young girl.

I live in Jalvayu Vihar, a few houses away from Aarushi’s. The original old doors that are here act as noise cancellation. It’s highly likely they didn’t hear anything. Plus it’s a type-6 flat. It’s not tiny :p .

@@taanuuu4911 yes, I recently visited it due to a personal reason. Nothing weird or scary. I hope her soul rests in peace. My puppy’s friend’s mom and dad lived there (husband and wife and 3 cute dogs). Nothing weird about it. They have also planted a tree in her loving memory. I strongly feel the parents were not involved. If you want to understand the almost stoic reactions of the parents, you need to know the environment they lived in.

Did the CBI ever track the phone locations using tower ? This could have been crucial in solving the case. Why was it disconnected etc etc. At least some information could have been found.

Why do I feel the mother has something to do? May didn’t kill her but atleast knows something! Weird enough she was there at the night to fix wifi, one detail that stands out to me is she wasn’t crying (I know people react to traumas in different ways) but standing there and seeing your daughter without crying or even trying to know if there is any way to save her, lastly the interview trying to fake tears and weird calmness she has, as if she knows what exactly happened!
