    So Mr. Zelensky and his crew are going to celebrate the subjection of Ukraine to NATO and Pentagon without inviting Russian army and now Russian army is knocking to door of Pokrovsk asking "Is here the party ?"
    Personally I think Russians will continue to implement their strategical plans without consideration for anniversary and other irrational events: I think the worry of West countries is just out the reality and shows that we didn't understand anything about Russia and Russians. Let me finish with my personal statement as Italian citizen totally disagreeing with Italian and European political class in this 2 years and half (and even before): Russia is not my enemy, NATO and EU are my enemies !

      As a Belgian citizen I agree with you for the 100%: NATO and EU are the real danger, not Putin or China. I am happy to see that more and more Europeans begin to realise this. EU and NATO are fighting a US war, a war against Russia, a war that only hurts Europe. Europe is already the big looser in this war. Time to step out of NATO and EU.

    Nobody froze in anticipation at all. Why did you buy into the hype? Only NATO and the western ((mainstream media)) constantly are concerned about "symbolic" calendar dates.
    The recent history of the past 3 years has shown us that the Russian government couldn't care less about "symbolic dates", they never have. But that they conduct their business, including their war campaigns, as and when they are ready to do so, and when they consider the most opportune timing in the actual field. Not based on some silly dates like "Ukraine independence day" or "NATO conference" week.

What gives it some semblance of credibility was Russian ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov’s statement that Putin has made a “decision” on how to ‘severely punish’ the ones responsible-presumably Ukrainian leadership-for the Kursk invasion. Don't hold your breath.

    As the brilliant Dmitry Orlov said:
    " This incursion is not existential threat, so do not expect nukes and escalation. It will take months, but first the intruders will be eliminated alongside their equipment. Second, recapture and then establish a buffer zone in Sumy"
    ( War of attrition is measured on casualties ratio ,and map changing is secondary).
    With that said, the question is how more cannon-fodder of the proxy is left for the US to use?

    • @Getoffmycloud53
      @Getoffmycloud53 Před 19 dny +29

      That’s the methodical way, but what Orlov and Martyanov seem to ignore is that the west doesn’t operate in the same way. The initial loss of terrain is seen as weakness, the lack of decisive punch is seen as weakness, Russian complacency that keeps causing losses deep behind its territory are seen as weakness. All this perceived weakness stimulates a belligerent stance against Russia, encouraging operations on its periphery, infiltration, sanctions etc. Perceived weakness encourages the belief that regime change is possible, that collapsing civilian morale is possible and that defeating the Russian military on the battlefield is possible. This may all be based on wrong assumptions, but that is all beside the point. The conflict will continue, in its current form or another, for as long as the west thinks it can defeat Russia or at least can prevent a loss against Russia - freezing the war in Ukraine, but that will again not end the conflict, the hybrid war against Russia - this would be a Cold War v2.0 scenario where the west will ultimately win the hybrid war. To stop this kind of reasoning the west must have its confidence shaken to such an extend that reality kicks in, that the cost and risk of this hybrid war against Russia is not worth it. So aggressive attrition may be winning the war in Ukraine, but it is not breaking the morale of the western proxy handlers, it is inviting more conflict. This is where Russia has to flex some real muscle, call it shock and awe, in a message that can’t be mistaken in the western capitals.

    • @Miki-e7g
      @Miki-e7g Před 19 dny +2

      And all that is to be completed in 5th, or 4th year of war if someone gets lucky.
      It isn’t about existential threat but incompetence of Russian military leadership to extend expect and prepare to prevent.
      Ukrainians are dying in large numbers as they simply have the role of underdog in everything: size, armament, technology, everything. And they still manage to surprise and beat badly the other side.
      Russia, apart February’22 managed to break nowhere, and we all know how badly that went back in February. Why? Because they were prepared and waiting. What Russian side was doing? Sending recruits to the frontline, as that’s what border is now. Allowed to have captured over 2000 soldiers and civilians?
      Man, if this isn’t uber failure , I don’t know what it is. And regarding buffer zone in Sumi, dream about that for need year is so.

    Let it be made clear that by no means the 24/08/1991 was independence date of the Ukrainian people. It was in fact the date of the foreign US forced splitting of that Russian territory from the Russian motherland. In fact in the referendum vote held in Ukraine in 1991 whether the Ukrainian people wanted to be independent from Russia or remain part of it, over 86% of the Ukrainian people rejected independence and voted to remain part of the Russian Federation. Yet the US flagrantly breached Article 1 Section 2 of the UN Charter, International Law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by denying the Ukrainian people of their democratic choice and imposed its botched independence and it first colonial puppet Leonid Kuchma on the Ukrainian people . The US aggression against Ukraine would again repeat itself in 2004, when the US toppled the democratically elected president and government of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych with 52% of the Ukrainian people's vote and imposed its puppet colonial dictator Victor Yushchenko in the so called “Orange Revolution” which in fact was a US aggression and direct interference in Ukraine’s internal affairs. Finally the US/EU again launched an unprovoked aggression against the Ukrainian people in its armed coup of 2014 when it again denied the Ukrainian people of their democratic choice of government and president, Victor Yanukovych enjoying over 56% of all the Ukrainian people’s vote and instead forcefully imposed its current puppet NAZI junta and its own colonial constitution on the Ukrainian people thereby destroying the constitutional Ukrainian state and turning the territory into a US/EU dominion and a bridgehead to launch an aggression against the Russian Federation.

      True. One needs to add that Russia had the same dear leaders back in 2004 as she has now. Neither RU MID nor the supreme leader moved a finger in 2014 to save Ukraine. One may guess that all attention was on helping Crimea back (done) but not to mess with the Ukros who were already becoming the incurable tribe. The prodigal Mr. Zhirinovsky called on the dear leader to take ALL of 'ukraine, not only Crimea. Alas, the boss ignored him, when they could have done it with near ZERO losses. Now, Rus Ivan has to pay hundreds of thousands of lives to save the thievery nomenklatura still in power and his own country.

    The Russian MoD published footage of the destruction of 3 multiple-launch rocket system M-270 (with ATACMS or HIMARS) with terrorists of the US special forces unit in the area of the settlement of 'Bereznegovatoye' in the Nikolayev region.
    The missile system was destroyed during the preparation of an attack on the Crimean Peninsula. The footage clearly shows how the Russian Iskander-M ballistic missile strikes and destroys the M-270 missile system itself, a transport and loading vehicle, 3 trucks, an ammunition depot, and 2 escort vehicles in which there were 10 terrorists of the US special forces unit, 3 were active-duty soldiers of the US Army.

Belarus a d wife is Ukranian, so he has family relatives in Belarus, or maybe wife family escaped to Germany for asylum at the very beginning of S.O.M.

    I don't know where the hype comes from (RF or UA side), the only reason I can think of to announce a missile attack in advance is to see how the opponent prepares his defences.

    Update on the conflict in Ukraine for August 25, 2024…
    - Western media admits Ukraine has dangerously overextended itself through its Kursk incursion;
    - Western media claims Russia is unable to use glide bombs in Kursk because of poor “air-control systems,” however, glide bombs are used primarily to break heavy fortifications which the Western media admits Ukraine is not building in Kursk;
    - Despite claims that Russia’s response was “disjointed,” Ukraine’s Kursk operation has become a liability, costing it irreversibly lost territory along the actual line of contact;
    - The more territory Ukraine attempts to hold in Kursk, the more troops and equipment it must divert from the actual line of contact;
    - Western media reports admit that Russian progress in the Donbass has accelerated since the Kursk incursion began;
    - Ukraine is not building the type of fortifications required to hold onto Kursk in the long-term with Western officials/analysts admitting that once Russia brings in sufficient reinforcements, uprooting Ukraine is inevitable;
    - US military assistance to Ukraine continues to shrink, with the most recent package featuring the same items (without quantities noted) as previous packages, suggesting the US is drawing from its insufficient monthly production; - The New Atlas

      @cornflake Russia is waiting to financially weaken the West, US especially. They know it would be hard to fight bluntly with NATO now, with big distructions for Russia.
      It will take years to collapse the US economically, so don't expect big moves from Russia for the moment. All in due time.

    • @KSmithwick1989

      @@violetamih8617 That definitely not going to work, given the size of the Russian economy. Not to mention you can't even bring up the debt argument.
      Consider Russia's wealthiest ally China has an even worse debt to GDP ratio, at over 180% of GDP. On top of that the Bank of China began refusing payments in Rubles on August 14th.
      If anything China is leveraging the situation on Russia to extort access to Russian resources. As there is a dispute over the Far East. The Russian Far East contains huge amounts of land that Russia stole from China.

    Deterrence is a concept developed by nuclear powers to ensure they are not attacked by external forces. Over the last 60 years, deterrence has been effective, helping to prevent the outbreak of a Third World War. However, many nuclear-armed countries are now increasingly concerned. Russia is facing a critical decision: it must either expel the Ukrainian forces from the territory they have occupied in the Kursk Oblast soon or consider using a nuclear weapon, which could have far-reaching implications for all other nuclear powers.
    We are all aware of the limitations on the use of nuclear weapons due to the severe political consequences. If Russia does not act soon, it could undermine the credibility of nuclear deterrence, potentially destabilizing global security principles. However, if Russia does use a nuclear weapon, it might need to use more than one, opening a Pandora's box and trivializing the use of such weapons. At this moment, I assure you, military strategists are increasingly anxious. It is no coincidence that the Germans issued a warning.

    • @jackzgb1232
      @jackzgb1232 Před 19 dny

      Why would they use nuclear weapons (especially in Russia)? No need.
      The country called Ukraina Americana caught the country of Russia in its sleep, and Russians, like any fool, like to learn from their mistakes. Russians really love it.
      As something good comes out of every evil, in this case it is good that the 47th, 80th, 82nd elite brigades of the country called Ukraine Americana, stay in the open, without shelter and without fortifications, and they are "fully available" to the Russian artillery and army.
