AJ seems sort of humble. He knows he's a good wrestler, but doesn't seem to think he's anything particularly special. Considering the era he is in, with it's plethora of amazing indie wrestlers I'm not too shocked at this. I mean A LOT of wrestlers right now are amazing wrestlers.
Amazing in terms of Technique, yes, but WWE Booking has Screwed Many wrestlers of a compelling character
Samoa Joe mentioned that he joined WWE because after the indies you legend doesn't continue and you fade away and he wanted to go somewhere he could continue after retirement while training guys, so I feel with this interview and how negative he spoke about the business, which isn't his first time doing so, he's probably realizing he's on his way to retirement as well and being that he told his wife at 42 he'd be out he probably realized his best chances at ending a legendary career was now giving him 2yrs to cement his name

+Pat Galaxy The AJ part comes from his initials (Allen Jones). As for planning matches in Japan, a lot of Japanese wrestlers (most if i'm not correct) are trained in English.

It's the time for a massive changeover for WWE. Bullet Club, Nakamura etc could do the job much more than WWE could expect them to. They should let them be themselves and see the magic work! Yes, with the right storylines.

Having met AJ Styles myself, he's a great humble guy.
A really great guy all around. Been watching him wrestle since 2002 and I can't wait for him to come to WWE.
And one year later...AJ Styles is WWE Champion. He's #beatenupJohnCena, had awesome matches with Y2J, reformed the Bullet Club on McMahon owned canvas, made fun of TNA on WWE cameras (twice), and solidified a spot for himself in the WWE Hall of Fame.
This was an awesome interview. Seems like one of the most down to earth superstars not only in wrestling, but celebrities in general. And SO humble! The guys a millionaire and arguably the best wrestler on the planet yet he still seems like the kind of guy you could kick back and watch a game over some beers with. Definitely deserving of the success he's had

I love how quickly AJ said sure when Kenny asked if he was free the day of the RR. I'm not trying to say he's 100% coming to WWE because I only know what I've read about that, but kudos to him for trying to keep it somewhat quiet if he is.

i worked (security) at the Newcastle arena for 5 star wrestling managed to meet the wrestlers (apart from rey mysterio) everyone was so down to earth john morrison especially. Even seen adam and kenny there just didn't get the chance to talk to them unfortunately

I can see that in the royal rumble, there will be a point where everyone is down and AJ and Samoa Joe will have a standoff in the middle of the ring...think about it, these 2 have had dozens of matches all around the world and have known each other for some 12 years. That would be a special moment.

I love AJ Styles and have done for all the years I've watched wrestling (I'm only 17) and to see this interview, where we see him out of a character which is something I've rarely seen, and where he is presented, rightly so, as one of the nicest people around. A genuine idol of mine, I'd love to meet him above almost anyone else around and I hope if he does sign with WWE I genuinely want them to treat him like the fucking star he is.
