1963.5 Ford Falcon. Navy Brother Bought in Sacramento, and Drove it to Iowa, fixed it and drove it to Norfolk to work on the Nimitz. He was an Original Crewman, that Ran the Reactor. Left it in the parking lot looking for the Nice breeze to blow sea water on the back latch. And, corrode it from sea water.

Oh, I love this video. I owned two Falcons in 1969 I was 16 years old. I bought my first car a 1963 Falcon Futura convertible. The color was called Oxford Blue. The top was white. The engine was a 170 CI inline 6 cylinder with a three speed manual column shift transmission. I owned it until I entered the Air Force Reserves in 1972. I wanted to keep for the rest of my life and someday restore it to factory condition. However my parent were moving to a new city and state and it would be a hardship for them to move, So I told my dad he could sell it. It was sold to a friend of my brother's that turned it into a drag racer. My next car, was a 1968 Falcon 2 door Sedan. It had a 289 V8, power steering, automatic transmission and a bolt under the dash Ford air-conditioner. The light matalic blue paint was flaking off, the seats were as basic as they come cloth and vinyl, even taxi cabs, had better seats. It had 51, 000 original miles on it when I took possession of it. My dad was working as a Ford salesman at the time. He took it in on trade for $400. He thought it would be a good car for me and bought it from the dealership with aditional $50 lot charge included. When I got it I didn't like it. I wanted a nicer car, but I was still on my initial active duty and wasn't able yet to afford better. I was intending to finish technical school program I was enrolled in before I was dealing with avoiding the draft by joining the reserves. As life turned out I kept that 68 Falcon for 5 years and put 102,000 miles on it, had very little in repairs to do to it, mostly brakes, a battery, muffler and exhaust pipes and tires. I religiously changed the oil and filter every 3,000 miles that is probably why I got so many miles out of it. As it turned out that car was the best bargain I ever had Oh and I did repaint it myself in my dad's backyard driveway.
