There are many ways to Machu Picchu, but nothing beats hiking the original pilgrimage of the Incas - the 4 day Classic Inca Trail. 4 days, 42km/26mi, 2,850m/9,350ft elevation gain.

Great job you guys! Your journey through the Inca Trail was truly magical. A few years ago, I hiked the Inca Trail that starts in the jungle, coming in from the opposite side. You are making me consider changing my plans on my next trip and sign up for this 4-day hike.
Are you referring to the Salkantay Trek? We wanted to do that too but ran out of time. But walking straight into Machu Picchu after the 4 day hike was truly magical!
@@jjescapes No, it was not the Salkantay Trek. It is not an officially sanctioned trail, but the Inca Trail is a network built by the Incas. We hiked it coming from the East over nicely built trails. I have a unique photo of Macchu Picchu taken from the East. One of the best part of the hike was that we spent the nights in remote lodges. The minus, was that we entered MP from the main entrance at sunrise.

Honestly we didn’t do much direct training. I would suggest stairs, stairs and more stairs haha. However, if you’re from the sea level like us, nothing is going to prepare you for the altitude! Make sure you arrive early to get acclimatized - Cusco is actually higher in elevation that Machu Picchu. Good luck!

Price for classic Inca Trail tours cost around USD600-700 per person - pricey but worth every penny to hike one of the most popular and amazing trails in the world!
How were the toilets? I heard the toilets there are dry flushing. As an Asian, I can't imagine not having a bidet.
Some campsites have built-in toilets, but your guide team will actually carry in and out a portable toilet! Not the most glamorous, but it’s all part of the experience 😅
How did you make money to do these travels? How do you make money now? If you make money passively. An you teach me?
Our entire trip was financed by our savings from our corporate jobs. Aggressive saving over 2 years during COVID!
