I love how his eyes squint as to wonder who is that on the track and does not take long at all for him to notice the M.C. He turns to his crew is delight like damn, Hov is on this shyt....but that didn't last long as he focused back to make sure Hov's spit was not whack (and it wasn'). Most people would just be happy Hov is on their shyt, no matte what her spit, but Dot was still like "This is cool and all, but this shyt still has to be tight". I love that shyt.

    How’s this video only have 630,000 views? This song makes me have such good memories from when it came out. My best friend and I would play this shit all the time while kicken it and doing rug-rat shit when we were in highschool. Crazy how time flys.. That best friend sadly had passed away of a over dose when we were 18 but this song and Money Trees are some of my two favorite songs because it gives me that same feeling from kicken it with him not giving a dam about life and enjoying life at that very moment. I got clean after he passed away but this song still gives me those same feeling when we thought life was simple, then came addiction. Crazy what certain things can bring up from the past

      Bro I can’t agree more. That’s the best kinda music that only very few ppl can create. Like he said “my city found me and put me on stages, to me that’s amazing” it’s one in a million literally with the amount of ppl who try to “rap”. Anytime you can hear a song damn near 15 years after it was made even if it’s for the millionth time and it still takes you back to a certain place and time and moment when you first heard it. I was like 18/19 when I first heard this and now I’m 30 and still go back to it every so often. It’s crazy how time flies and I’m sorry to hear about ur friend bro. Glad u got clean. This kinda rap doesn’t exist anymore. Not to take anything away from this new generation or this new wave cause times always change. But the most popular artist now like playboi carti and yeat could never ever in their life make a song like this. This type of rap, the pure lyricism, the word play, the actual substance not just a crazy beat has been dead for awhile. That’s prolly why it has so little views.

    • @kristianvaldez592
      @kristianvaldez592 Před 9 měsíci

      Even the first song they’re jamming to at the beginning of the video where schoolboys rapping about hard shit but it’s more basic and even Kendrick’s dancing and vibing to it those kinda songs are easier to make and a lottttt of rappers can do that. But to make a song like BDKMV there’s only a hand few of rappers that can do that. The first time I heard that simple beat and “I am a sinner, who’s prolly gonna sin again, lord forgive me. Things I don’t understand. Sometimes I need to be alone” bro I was instantly hooked that shit still send chills down my spine. That’s real shit.

    Will be remembered as an incredible collaboration between two of rap's titans! Securing a verse from Jay-Z is like striking gold for any rap aficionado. His verses aren't just just technical, but also memorable; they embed themselves in my mind, becoming anthems I recite effortlessly. Yet, even years later, I find myself uncovering new meanings and appreciating the layers of his craft. For instance, watching the video today after seeing it countless times, I took notice of Kendrick's intense focus on Jay-Z's words and decided to listen to the song as if it were my first time, like Kendrick... and there it was! Jay-Z's line, "Kill my vibe is your motherf'n funeral," struck a chord with me. It's a masterful double entendre. On one level, it references the literal funeral depicted in the video. On another, it is a stark warning not to tamper with his legendary streak, or it's game over. Such moments do humble me and are a testament to their genius.
