Sounds awesome, try the JVM and Soldano together. I do that at home, sounds pure BEEEF :D
It should sound similar to this, as the 5150 and the Soldano themselves aren't that far apart in sound and architecture. Or so they say.
Lucky neighbours you have 😂
@@JaimeNoro Actually, as far as I know, the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier is the one that copied the SLO preamp exactly, bit by bit.
@@aapddd Shame I don't live next door, i'd be poking my head out the window "OI BEA, TURN IT UP"
Fantastic idea man, I also thought about that, I unfortunately don’t have a Soldano, but I can imagine the two amps sounding remarkable together even though they are amazing on their own already.
FINALLY somebody that goes into this rabbit hole properly, really hyped for this series, much respect!👏👏👏
i would love to hear a 5150 with a rectifier i heard they sound good together
also would be cool to hear the 2 amps in mono, so for example you could have 2 performances played with 2 different combination of amps in a single mix
I think the 5150 and rectifier might be the most popular combo, 5150 has that super direct upper midrange, rectifier has the lows, and both have a shitload of gain pardon my French
No one man should command this much gain. Goddamn just can't beat a Marshall for definition, love the blend of these they complement eachother perfectly!
Hi Rabea, some troubleshooting tips for the ground loop(s):
First of all, what’s the exact signal path? Is it guitar > pedalboard > split out to both amps? Anything in the fx loops of each amp? I’m assuming the pedalboard can lift the ground on one of the outputs going to the front ends of the amps.
The first thing i’d try is run both heads through real cabs and eliminate the load boxes and see if you get ground loop hum like this. Using the Lehle or any other iso box/hum destroyer device in line on either side, you can ground lift either of the lines going into the front end of each amp to see if this removes any hum at this stage if there is any hum.
If there’s no hum when using real cabs, introduce a loadbox to one amp and see if this adds any ground loop. I’d be surprised if this did given that you’re using balanced lines from loadbox to interface, unless one of the loadboxes has a ground lift switch that’s pressed down when it doesn’t need to be, which might cause the hum.
If adding the first loadbox doesn’t add hum, introduce the next loadbox and see if that adds hum. If that doesn’t, it’s probably happening at the front end stage. Or if anything is going into either fx loop, you might have an issue there that needs a ground lift.
Another test would be to have both amps with loadboxes, but with nothing plugged into the front ends of either amp, and with both amps set to high gain so you just hear amp hiss. If there’s no hum like that, it’s definitely a front end issue that just needs one side to be ground lifted.
I wonder also if there’s a power source issue, but if all the gear is powered by the same outlet then probably not.
Also a few ideas for the next video of this series. Try running two tube screamers or other combinations of dirt pedals in parallel (one to each amp) so each amp has a slightly different signal path. This can get closer to a more double tracked feel.
Also, i’m hearing slight latency on the JVM side so the overall effect is that the 5150 side arrives sooner (i don’t mean the short milisecond ambience added to the tone, just the fact that the 5150 sounds faster).
The return of the best amp combo !!
Always awesome, thank you Rabea 👍
Sounds absolutly awesome.
I am excited for this series.
I just love watching u noodle around! Very inspiring mate, thanks!
Great video. As always.
And great idea. I love blends amps.
Looking forward to hear the other episodes of the serie.
My suggestion is to do something Hetfield style, scooped 80s/90s style tone blended with a nice compressed Diezel giving some defined mids and some chewy saturated low-end. Seems to be a similar thing to blend two different styles. My favorite non-metal tone is Billie Joe Armstrong's who does a similar thing. Modded 59 Plexi that's closer to maybe a lower-gain classic JCM800 and set pretty clean and straight up, and then another 59 Plexi that's got a more metal-y gain structure with more gain for a big scooped saturated low end. So you get the cleaner super punchy midrange response and cut of the first amp, and all the big sustain and palm muting saturation and sizzle from the second amp, all through V30s.
Holy smokes Rabea! This video was a huge level up for me. Thank you so much for the stuff you post.
This is awesome, exactly what I’m doing right now. So keen on this series of blending tones!
Top notch content Rabea.
Can't wait for more episodes, mate! When you got the Baritone out with a smile I couldn't help smiling myself! :-D
Sounds massive. I've always a fan of a dual amp rig. One with a more vintage British tone for the chewy upper mids and chimey highs, and the other being a modern American amp for the beefy lows and lower mid girth. I also agree the unboosted tone is better.
Just love this combo sounds so good. Great vid.
This was awesome Rabea!
Great idea! I have been looking for this topic. thx!
Dude. Your demos are absolute 🔥 Rabea. Unbelievable content brother. I follow so many youtubers, but you have a groove in your playing that really exposes an amps guts. Cheers from the USA 🍻
Just started my dual amp journey… fun to watch, and happy to that Rabea took the time to make this!
This is a sick and informative segment.
Man I LOVE this idea! Keep em coming!
Yes! he's my guitar hero I love anything he does
Outstanding!!!
Great video idea, mate! Loved it! Cheers!
One of the best tones I've heard period❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great idea Bea! I'm in!
That tone is unbelievable. Waiting for more!
That full bore riff sounded killer at 17:00. Great video man!
*Great* idea for a series Rabea :) This has been on my mind a lot lately. Would love to hear so much more, some Friedman and/or Diezel goodness would be cool. Love it!
That Fat Bee is the greatest fuzz I've ever heard. Mental! Cool vid, Bea.
I ate this episode for Breakfast.
Literally.
Thank you for the very very good morning.
Sounded soooooo damn sick when u kicked on the fatbee. It made the two amps respond kinda differently and made them sound even more stereo and wider. Super sick!
It all sounds amazing!
Nice to hear that lick again. SICK
For me the lead without the tube screamer was just perfect to cut through without being too fizzy or muddy
Loved it !
Sounds massive! Those amps work great together.
Excellent content.
What a tone with both of them together!
Please do more of this! Enjoyed it very much
Beaaautiful tones of the JVM 410 + TS. Beautiful singing leads. Gonna get me this head this year!!!!
They sound fantastic together
So cool!
Wow, the bari tone is spectacular
Haha! Thanks for the shout out, Bea! I hope you guys are all ok?
Lovely to hear that combination again- it really does sound amazing!
Beautiful clean playing man!
spotted that sweet killswitch engage riff right there at 9:02 :D awesome video series :)
🧔 I'm a drummer who loves brutal guitar tones. The blending of the Marshall jvm and the Peavy 5150 sounds amazing together. I would have to say separately I love the Marshall jvm on a crunch with the tube screamer. That sounds amazingly brutal in my opinion. Love you and and the new series. 🌻
The JVM has always been my favorite amp since I first saw it and eventually played it after a few years of watching the videos. While it’s great to have the luxury of both amps, one could get away with tones ranging from worse to even better by using a 10 band EQ pedal and a compressor. Maybe even use some of your favorite OD pedals and you’re very good to go.
Sick lead tone almost borders on too much but at the last sec doesn't go over the edge great new series dude good luck
Great tone and playing dude!
I'm totally convinced that you could make a First Act starter pack sound kick ass LOL. But I'm digging that sound you get when you Put just the JVM and 5150 together.
Absolutely love it
I remember your "Revisiting Old Friends" video where you blended this pair. Love at first listen. The chunk, sustain and definition is all there. Currently looking into getting a Peavey 6505 Mini and a Marshall Dsl20 just so I can somewhat try this combo. Thanks for this video, the tones were awesome as always!
I think it sounds sick, with both amps together. that Fat B is sick man
Beautiful guitar Man!!
Dude the baritone sounds colossal!
Good lord that's brutal!
Love the sound of the fat bee, so gnarly. I'm a big fan of a Silicon treble booster in front of high gain amps, it kind of reminds me of that.
Oh yeah and those amps sound great together!
That sound when you first blended the two together and when you put the reverb and delay in - that's the "BEA" sound to me!
Made me properly love high gain and the way you use it in Toska. It's a benchmark tone that I always chase.
Dope Intro!
I´m rather the tubescreamer guy! I love it, when the TS9 tightens up the sound! The Marshall and the 5150 are a wall of sound when blended together! Great! Nice series btw! Love yer playin´, Bea!
I also find the sound better without the Tube Screamer. Great Video Idea!!
I know you must be happy to be back with the JVM, you’ve talked about it a lot.👍🏻
Would love to hear YOU demo some Diezel amps.
I know its not the same as having the tube amps, but I'm grateful for amp sims where I can semi-try this out. If I tried to blend my amps at home, I'd probably burn my house down! Thanks Rabea, this was very inspiring!!
Dude that Fatbee just had me bursting out, what a P H A T sound holy moly. :D
Try blending the high harmonics of a Soldano with the mid content of maybe a Friedman.
Or with the low end of a Rectifier or his Revv
(To me) the notes sound clearer, larger, more organic and less noisy without the T. screamer. Worked better with the baritone.
Because the tube screamer has a natural bass cut and mid boost frequency curve. It would sound better with a bass player
That is some huge tone right there.
Great video series idea, Bea.
I've definitely followed your lead on stereo tones, and have for a few years been finding cool blends with my own VX Kraken and other amps. Here are a few different pairings I've really gotten into and have kind of become my default tones for demoing with my band.
1. Kraken Gain 2 and a Verellen Meatsmoke.
2. Kraken Gain 1 and a VHT/Fryette Pittbull
3. Obviously Kraken Gain 1 and Gain 2. You and Martin really nailed how those tones should work together.
Looking forward to what you discover in your tone tweak searches.
Holy shit mate, you look great! Been a couple years since I seen you on Andertons. Congrats, man
I have 0 musical training. Cannot even read sheet music. But watching your videos is starting to give me words to describe the sounds I hear and I really get a lot out of them!
that sounds very good!
Great new series man. I like the idea. I'd suggest try to find the best tube amp to pair with the Katana 100.
Great idea I would love to see the Mezzabarba with the super kraken. Keep it up 👍
Cool as. Thanks.
This is a great idea. See if the kraken and soldano play well together.
Killer sound!! Love it
Diezel herbert
And jvm might be a great combo.
Oh I'm going to enjoy this series! Shame I won't have an empty house for the next one, was able to crank it up and it sounded monstrous.
Finally I always wanted too see someone do this. I'd love to see a slo and a dual rec
Same preamp. Mesa ripped off Solodano
What do I think at this point? Speechless.
Love this dude. I blend any jvm 410h and a Mesa boogie through a 4x12 marshall cab with a stereo mono switch on the back. And slaving them and pre amps through power amps
I’d love to see an Orange/Friedman combo ! 😍
Orange / Friedman would be sick
Ultimate British high gain pair
Love the high gain harmony
Oh boy, the JVM sounds like a kiss from god!
Funny that you made this video since I revisited your old video of the JVM and the 5150 rig just yesterday!
love this video!! really awesome sound with the 5150 crunch!! please, i love your guitars but i miss something with your les paul, i have a les paul too then i can figured out how you rig can sound with my guitar, it can give me a better idea of what's going on , any way thanks for this amazing video idea!
I do the same exact thing and have exact philosophy with my Dual Rectifier Roadster and EVH 5153. I put EL34s in my Dual Rec, the Roadster are littler darker, so the tube change helped with that and the bass became less boomy. The 5153 is a mark 1 or first edition if you will, just the standard 100 watt loaded with 6L6s. These two heads played together boosted with Fulltone OCD is sheer brutality at its finest. Don't get me wrong, you get away with either one by itself just fine, more than fine actually, but the combination is just incredible.
I'd love to hear a dimed sheriff mixed with something heavy, looking for that Adam Jones super bass x VH4 vibe.
I blend a Sheriff 22 w/ a BH Terror at home, it sounds awesome. I've always watned to hear the bigger Sheriff with a full sized Orange.
+1
Or just go VH4 and Marshall, see what the fuzz is about. Would surely make for an interesting video.
My favorite Billy Goat!
Such a thick, rediculous amount of destructive, TONE. 😂. The lead sounds awesome with that phat 🐝!! I don’t hear anything wrong with that crunch rolled down lol. That jvm is a sick head for sure dude
Damn, that guitar looks awesome
Yes Bea! Awesome video and great idea for a new segment of your channel. I saw someone else posted a similar request to mine; how about budget valve amps? My choice would be the PRS MT15 blended with a Laney Cub 15w Super-Top. Two hugely different amp sounds that I’ve seen produce monstrous sounds, either with pedals (Laney) or without (PRS)
Would love to see you do this with VSTs, love it man keep up ✌️
Excellent vid. They mixed wonderful together. The tube screamer takes away clarity and dynamics. I preferred the Marshall if the amps weren't mixed.
A Fryette and a Bogner would be lovely. Especially a Sig X or Deliverance, but the Pitbull would be awesome too.
I like the sound of this combination of these amps. The difficulty is to finde the right mix of definition, brutality and special "dirt". I often mixing clean tones with distorted tones to have the definition in the sound, especially for riffs...
I've been blending 2 amps for a little while now. The 2 I am using at the moment are the 20w Marshall Jubilee (Lead channel) through a Greenback and a Friedman JJ Jr (JBE channel) through a V30.
The Jubilee provides the ballsy mid crunch as you'd expect from a Marshall and the JJ is a thick high gain with plenty of top end.
This set-up is just made for Them Bones and We Die Young type riffs...
More content like this Bea please 👍👍👍
You are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!
My favorite high-gain guitar player and high gain harmony oh what's up👊
Loved it. Great combination. I did feel like the tube screamer was more of a bass cut than a mid push, so I agree-it sounds better without it.
This is a magic pairing.
Fat Bee made it the lasagna of Guitar Tones.
I need to hear the Diezel VH4 third channel in a situation like this.
Two digits☝️
I like to be one of the first hundred.
Great video! As for the phase issues you mentioned in the beginning of the video, maybe this is of interest: the JVM always flips phase when entering another mode. So when going from green mode to orange mode you also flip the phase. As far as I understand, it comes from the JVM's inner working. Basically every time you go one mode up, there is one more valve engaged. Source is a German site that mods the JVMs and stated as a side-note, that when using the JVM is a stereo setup, only use the same modes on only pair it with itself so to say.
great start for this series.
The blended sound reminds me to the EVH 5150 mk-III
if you could get one of that, preferably the more common 50W 6L6 version that would be great to see with other amps.
Your Victory Kraken would be great to hear with 5150, JVM or EVH 5150
