  • Fitting Maxton Design side skirt extensions to my mk7 golf R. Ive had these for about a year just never quite got round to fitting them. it didn't take long, maybe 20-30mins. Added some 3M style tape as well as the screws for added security. the side skirts are available from the link below

    Very helpful, sticking mine one me next day off. Definitely going to use the dbl sided rather than glue now nice one 👍

    Well you guys made that look easy. Think I struggled coz was using the impact driver at a slight angle.
    Did you not feel you needed to cut a place in the skirts for the jacking point?

    • @1BlueGhost
      @1BlueGhost  Před rokem

      From what I remember no we didn’t cut anything, I sold the car a few years ago now. It was definitely easy on the ramp, and also not the first or last time we have fitted maxton items to a car I guess

      1Blue Ghost for the front splitter, did you have to take the bumper off for fitting? Or was it drilled straight up into the bumper?

    Cause I have an MK7 gti w golf r side skirts.
    I’m afraid since the the skirts aren’t factory assembled that the Maxton diffusers will pull them down, but if the skirts are very light maybe I’ll be ok.

    These maxton add ons are just about passable on black and grey cars. On any other colour car it literally looks like the car has been driven through halfords covered in superglue.

    I’ve ordered some different maxton side skirts, looks like yours have some sort of adhesive to help applying it. Mine are telling me to use glue. What glue should I use ?

    • @1BlueGhost
      @1BlueGhost  Před 4 lety +1

      I purchased the tape separately, it’s just 3m tape and seems to work well. Mine also suggested glue but decided against using. Some sort of gorilla glue or no more nails type stuff may work.
