i liked the outfits that are inspired by paintings the most, drawing direct reference and recreating it into wearable art is so rad. like lana del rays' look was based on "our lady of seven sorrows" with like the stabbed heart symbolizing the virgin’s sorrow over events in her life such as the crucifixion and burial of jesus. art is so wild!
YEs!!! And even though Zendaya's wasn't an art, hers was based on Joan of Arc who died as a martyr for Catholocism. Absolutely beautiful!
I loved the art references too!!! I’m a little upset at the outcome of the Met Gala since the theme was super interesting this year but ah well.
