  • We started our 13 days tour of Egypt, an ancient land of Pharaohs and Pyramids. This video is the second of three videos. In this video, our journey took us from Luxor to Aswan.
    Luxor
Before we departed Luxor, some woke up early in the morning to take a hot air balloon over the temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
After visiting the temple, we went to the valley of the kings. Archaeologists have discovered more than 60 tombs of Pharaohs. We visited three of these tombs. Beautiful paintings and inscriptions covered the walls of these tombs. In the evening, we sailed for Aswan.
    Edfu
Along the way, we stopped at Edfu. We hopped on a kalesh ride, a horse-drawn carriage, to visit the temple of Horus, the best-preserved ancient temple in Egypt.
Afterwards, we sailed south towards Kom Ombo to visit an unusual double temple dedicated to Horus and Sobek. Sobek refers to crocodiles.
    Aswan
The next day, we reached Aswan and stayed on board for two days to tour the city. We visited the magnificent Abu Simbel temples, one of Egypt’s most famous ancient monuments.
After lunch, we took a felucca ride, a sailboat, to Elephantine island to visit a Nubian village. We attended an Arabic kindergarten in the village.
All of us enjoyed the cruise up the river Nile. This leg of our journey is the most enjoyable part of our tour. Tomorrow, we are anticipating the most challenging part of our trip. Good night.
