      If your body has been "screwed over", naturally a prescription for it would be "unscrewing" it. lol

      @@ephelesfrance7006 yes I meant more videos on TFL inhibition, not activation - my TFLs are active like crazy and it's so hard to do any PRI techniques without TFL also activating.

    Hey Conor thank you for all that you provide. So I had a laminectomy almost 3 years ago for right sided sciatica. Had disc herniation, narrowing, ligament hypertrophy. He shaved the ligament too. I have a gr 1 Spondy too. Anyway long story short pain switched to L side 6 weeks post op. I tried McGill stuff before and after. Much respect for him. I didn’t pace well. But he spoke about avoiding hip mobility stuff because with a Spondy there needs to be stiffness. Any thoughts? Conor? Anyone?

    i am watching these videos as a physical therapist and no watter what the problem, you just say go in side position, press your legs against the wall... i highly doubt that these exercises are key to restructuring the body. I dont get your explanations either.....people coming to me are so fuked up....this wont change a thing for them. People dont even do regular muscle training and cardio. You expect them to to these exercises on top? No they dont

    • @dennylekstrom4517
      @dennylekstrom4517 Před 5 měsíci +6

      Surely as a professional physical therapist that's not all you take away from these videos. With your training I'm sure you know how the sympathetic nervoussystem influences how out body operates biomechanically. When we breath out the vagus nerve sends a signal to our heart to beat slower and our body to lower chorstisol levels and a lot of other things I'm sure you already know. This is achieved by allowing the diaphragm to have full range of motion in full decension and full asencion, which happens when it can freely move up into the ribcage. This regulates our nervous system and teaches the body what is safe, and what is not safe. Since our breath is hugely important in this regulation the focus on excersises that allows promotion of correct biomechanical breathing is essential for progress. Pain is also correlated to dysregulation, and If the goal is to make people feel better, then there is no way around that fact. The rest of it is basic physics of antagonists and protagonists, with rotation in mind to get away from compensatory strategies. The reason why people don't do excersises I think, is due to lack of results. And If you want to make impacful change you have to start at the beginning so to speak, this coming from experience.

      @@dennylekstrom4517 Yeah... i tell my patients about breathing exercises. I explain it thoroughly and leave no room for questions. In my opinion there are things everybody has to do. But they just dont do it. They come to me, they get better, they train for 3 month. Pain disappears and they stop training. Rinse repeat, almost everybody. Emotion is our dictator and we just move with comfort. I cant stop that... Very few do the things that need to be done. And others have so many weakspots....it just needs such a great amount of time, dedication, work and lack of positive emotion for so many people.... I feel helpless so many times

    • @dennylekstrom4517
      @dennylekstrom4517 Před 5 měsíci +5

      @@VatoRob I get that, that must be tough and frustrating. But there is a difference between breathing to not pass out and using breath as a tool to reprogram the mind. That's what we learn as children If we have a healthy enviroment with regulated caregivers. And making a distinction between working muscularly and through the mind I think is the issue for most people with pain, whether it be mental or physical. Maybe talk to your clients about that? Pain is in some degree always associated with anxiety, and again anxiety is regulated via the nervoussystem.
      Having said all this I feel like your frustration is a bit misplaced as I feel like that frustration doesn't have anything to do with what Conor and his crew are teaching and talking about.
