There are not enough live videos of Jason, each one is cherished. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the chance to see a little more of him.
@@letmegoletmego i agree with both of you - ha... there are not enough really GOOD ones, well recorded, well filmed. Jason's story and songs would make a fantastic big Netflix documentary. It would revive his career, not that he'd care. But he deserves more attention. I just learned of him LAST week --and I can't get enough.
What a small world. The man playing the slide guitar is Mike Slo-Mo Brenner, when I was a teen he used to play at a local festival in rural new york with his band Slo-Mo. Long before I discovered Jason Molina, and here he is, playing with Molina.
I was following them around a little at this time, my favorite band in those years, and had come down from New York on a Chinatown bus for this show. Been wondering if any footage of this existed for years. Three days before my 24th birthday. I loved them, and I love them. RIP Molina. It's hard to listen to this now - so good it hurts.

Amazing sound quality here and the entire band just nails every note out of the park. Less than 1,000 views as of this post and it's easily the best concert video I've seen in the last five years.
Wow! Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. I was at this show and I remember clearly the moment around 15:48 where he takes his wallet out and asks to buy $100 worth of water for everyone because it was so damned hot. Amazing memory.
Same for me.I held/hold Songs:Ohia in incredibly high regard, but i wasn't as keen on Magnolia, though they clearly had their moments. The very last album i bought was Songs:Ohia "Magnolia Electric Co." which was good but a little too much Neil Young rock-ish for me.
This performance is amazing. Many thanks for sharing this special moment with anyone lucky enough to hear it. As a new fan of Jason Molina and Magnolia Electric Co. I am unfamiliar with some of these songs; could anyone list the titles and times?
Not going to list the times but here are the titles: 1) dark dont hide it 2) leave the city 3) lonesome valley 4) farewell transmission 5) montgomery 6) just be simple 7) I've been riding with the ghost 8) no moon on the water 9) hammer down 10) running with the devil (van halen cover)
Great performance.... I love these guys so much... Too bad the audio quality is so shitty. Can barely hear Jason sometimes. Oh well I guess we're lucky we got what we got.
What's up with "Lord Grunge" trashing Neil Young? There's no way a fan of Molina isn't a fan of Neil Young or at least Crazy Horse. Maybe Lord Grunge was trying to think of Neil Diamond?
I feel really close to him, I wonder if many people do. Cause he is so vulnerable. I cried too. He was original and brave sounds thoughts and ideas 😢

There are loads of live recordings and videos of Jason. But I agree that there aren't enough.

@@jgwire Have you seen "Recording Josephine"? czcams.com/video/fDaEb-7pEPQ/video.html
I don't cry easily but by God I wept when I heard that Jason died.x
So did I. Such a loss.
I weep randomly when I hear or watch them,.., ..
Same

Slo Mo was also the secret sauce in Marah. Been a fan of his playing since 1997
Cool story bro
Jason Molina had an outstanding, often underrated Talent. RIP
“Underrated”? Those who need to know, know. What do you want a mass media pollution?
Come on. He is just saying he isn’t very well known to most people. He didn’t mean anything offensive. Take it easy.

I bloody love Jason
I think Hair Bear might have killed him though.
Thanks for providing this essential information--just what I needed.
I recently picked up the album 'Trials and Errors.' It hasn't left my turntable in three weeks.
Jason's on wonderful form here, joyous and heartbreaking. Sacred.

it's 2022. it's still the best one, IMO.
One of the better versions of Molina and Co live. Thanks.
This might be my favorite version of Lonesome Valley. Just a perfect set. Thank you for uploading.
Back on the anniversary of Magnolia Electric Co., I’ll never get tired of watching this

Thanks for pointing that out, a really cool fine for him to do.
He is a certified badass.

The man is a God damn legend!
Still gives me butterflies every time I hear his music
This is amazing. Wish I was there.
hard to believe we are coming up on ten years
Just thank you!
What great sound quality 👌 thanks made my B-Day😎🙏
Lmao I don't know why I expected to hear Jason sing Runnin With the Devil
Also playing the solo with the slide was so badass
So fantastic. I hope JM makes fun every night with Jeff Buckley. And all the rest

Fantastic! Thanks Jason!
Thank you!
thank you for sharing
Great performance! I lost track of Jason Molina after Song Ohia!. What was I doing back then? Great band

This is fantastic :)
JM live is special the band is tight too.
This performance is amazing. Many thanks for sharing this special moment with anyone lucky enough to hear it. As a new fan of Jason Molina and Magnolia Electric Co. I am unfamiliar with some of these songs; could anyone list the titles and times?
Not going to list the times but here are the titles:
1) dark dont hide it
2) leave the city
3) lonesome valley
4) farewell transmission
5) montgomery
6) just be simple
7) I've been riding with the ghost
8) no moon on the water
9) hammer down
10) running with the devil (van halen cover)
Listen to the whole of the Didn't it Rain album by Songs: Ohia. It's a beautiful as music get and Jason's magnum opus.
@@jellymoriarty Yes, i would rate that one and "Ghost Tropic" the highest, though all S.O. releases are magical, every single one!

theres no more than a handful of songs better than leave the city (especially with the original more hopeful lyrics)
I still find it amazing how quickly he speed ran alcoholism.
Was songs ohia a Christian band?
no
Definitely not.
