    Morgan, im so happy that I found your videos!! We are so alike!! I didn't know what i wanted to study in college either. I currently have a Bachelor's degree in Education, a Master's degree in English Literature, a Doctorate degree in Psychology, and an MBA in Strategic Leadership. I've worked as an Adjunct Professor and now am a Math Teacher. I love kids also, but this job isn't my dream. Your job sounds absolutely amazing. I was looking into Cyber Security but i definitely want to look at your program as well.

    Hi Morgan Chin, thank you for making this much needed video. I am striving to become a ux designer. Rn I am teaching myself about UX design. I work in education, but I have always been passionate about design and helping others. I live in Los Angeles and work as a paraprofessional. What would be your advice for transitioning into ux design as an educator?

    • @MorganChin
      @MorganChin  Před 2 lety

      Hey! I would say sooo many of the skills are applicable to UX. You use many of the same ones from education and you already have experience doing a lot of them. Your ability to speak publicly is a gift lol use it to power through interviews as a confidant and super personable person!

    Hi Morgan! Thanks for sharing your experience. I am an elementary school teacher and would like to learn more about your experience transitioning out of the classroom. How long did it take? I feel like I'm more of a visual person, so maybe UI design is something I'm more interested in as opposed to UX design. Any thoughts? Do you work on UI design simultaneously with UX?

    • @MorganChin
      @MorganChin  Před 3 lety

      It took me about 6 months! So I spent that year planning what I would do and where I would go. It made it much easier to transition, because I left with a plan.
      UI design is done with UX! However you can just be a designer at many companies. That’s actually what I do!! I was also more interested in design and not as much in research. Many people go that route.

    Hi! I'm so glad I found your channel! Thank you for sharing your story. I've subscribed and am looking forward to more content from you! Did you ever consider being a teacher & UX Designer at the same time? I too make my own stuff for my students, especially during remote learning. I'm currently an elementary school teacher and want to combine edtech. Do you think it's possible to do both at the same time? I want to use UX design to supplement my teacher income (or vice versa!) Either way, I like my teacher salary to be honest but still want to supplement. What are your thoughts? Thank you!

    • @MorganChin
      @MorganChin  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey! So nice to meet you! I actually never considered it, because teaching was too much work. I think it would honestly be A LOT to juggle haha However, nothing is impossible!! The fact that you even want to do that tells me that I am sure you will be able to do it! I definitely think it's do-able to free lance as a UX designer & teach if you are up for some late nights, early mornings, and long weekends! :)

      oh that’s great! So I actually did not do this. I quit my job because I saved up every penny while teaching so I could do that.
