My ex came off as a high value man. Educated, handsome, well dressed, responsible, decorous and upheld by his family, friends and community. Months in during discussions if I'd question his credibility he'd get infuriated. He began with poking in between the collar bone. Then looking down at me literally during arguments. This stopped eventually. My dumbass stayed for I loved him and thought I was at fault thinking i "provoked him". In our last argument he threatened my life, my home and job. Asking me how I'd like to die in a calm tone. He went as far to threaten my son's life. I just stayed quiet with God's strength and he left my home calmly. You never know with people. The one's that appear to be too good to be true is because they are.

I had to go to court because my ex kept stalking and harassing me, so I filed a restraining order and the judge asked me in court "ma'am are you doing this out of bitterness?" When I tell you, it took everything I had inside of me to hold my composure. I wanted to scream. This man had harassed me at my job, harassed my family members, harassed my close friend, and threatened to harm me and yet the question was: Oh, are you bitter? That was a lesson I will never forget. If you are in a toxic relationship, leave while you still can.

Due to my resentment towards bullying, an aggressive man would not last with me. An aggressive or domestically violent dude brings out the beast that lies dormant in me as a self-defense mechanism and it gets so ugly that once an aggressive dude filed a restraining order against ME after a he threat against ME and found he couldn't bully me. Now, I don't know if that was to have the reverse effect in case he wanted to retaliate against how I responded to his threat, but either way, I get far away from them with or without the law involved. I always treat people with respect, but, for some reason aggressive dudes bring out the worst in me and that's not a good match!! Good talk, Tony!

A person with emotional intelligence is able to effectively communicate when upset. Silent treatments, lashing out, yelling, cursing, speaking and acting in such a way that is combative, are just some of the many clues that a person is unstable and dangerous. Mine was the “Super Fake” type an Online date yall and a gun owner he kept it in his pocket! I am still shell shocked after a YEAR I caught him rummaging for his gun in the middle of the night. He was definitely plotting because my gut told me. I finally had paid for him to leave almost a month later. Background check people please. Turned out he was a squatter and had court cases of not leaving peoples homes. 😳 What had happened is I invited him over for Thanksgiving and he wouldn't leave...said he was in luv etc lawdy😥

It's crazy and the law varies by state. Squatting is an old times term for a person sitting and not moving also trashing your house and not bathing/cleaning. After he was gone I did a court record search and found he did it 3times to others. I couldn't believe it. He kept saying he was trying to find a place to stay.

Definitely true wisdom. I know about the hairs on the back of my neck rising up. The guy's very first blow up was punching holes in my wall and backing me into a corner trying to choke me. That's all it took. I knew if I stayed in that situation I would be dead or he would be. I just could not take a beating when I had only been good to him. I simply said "No" to his latest business scheme. I told him to show me he could be a provider without my money, car or credit. He blew all the way up. God knows I don't ever want to take anyone's life nor die before my time. But for God, one of us would not be here today. It doesn't matter the age either. I am over 45 years old. I halfway thought he was my last chance. I settled for way less than I deserved. Fear of loneliness can make you do that. He was an angry, dysfunctional, weak and insecure male inside but on the surface super over the top nice, romantic and calm for almost a year. Red flag...almost to good to be true type. Never let a man move in with you even if he becomes homeless. Once in your home almost impossible to get rid of him. Never let him know where you live or go to his place especially early on. Meet his family and friends before you visit his home or be alone with him. This way you know he is not married if you meet his family and friends. Take it slow.
Even with all those precautions, they can still be crazy.. in my case, I knew a guy for a year. We met at a mutual friends get together. I met his mom and sisters. He would be what people would consider a high value man. Very good job( VP of IT at a prestigious bank) own house, good looking, ambitious, very smart( valedictorian in college). On our third “date” he ended up strangling me because he said I lied to him smh, which I didn’t. I never saw any indication of this behavior before. After that day, I never spoke to him again. Some of these guys are good at hiding that crazy gene.

We have to make sure the person we are confiding in isn't trying to sleep with us himself or telling us what we want to hear for his own benefit. A man maybe telling you truths about another man but is it genuine? Is there a motive behind his actions? One thing about a woman, we see the signs - we just ignore those red flags. It's always better to seek counseling from someone who doesn't know you or your partner. Some of the same men who are trying to counsel women are the main ones they need to pay attention to. I have found by research that many of them have histories of domestic violence against women themselves. People are capable of anything, it doesn't matter who they are, who they say they are or who you think they are, HUMAN BEINGS ARE CAPABLE OF ANYTHING.

I remember when my relationships with an abusive grown boy was in the kinda last phase, after 5 years, I always felt death when I was next to him. I dont understand how to explain it more clear, but I felt like I’m dead already when he was around. It was very strange and I never felt this way before or after that period and next to that grownboy. So, the longer it lasted, the worse it became just like Tony described, and then that feeling of death. That feeling was pushing me away from him. Then just occasionally found a video of Tony... Due to my resentment towards bullying, an aggressive man would not last with me. An aggressive or domestically violent dude brings out the beast that lies dormant in me as a self-defense mechanism and it gets so ugly that once an aggressive dude filed a restraining order against ME after a he threat against ME and found he couldn't bully me. Now, I don't know if that was to have the reverse effect in case he wanted to retaliate against how I responded to his threat, but either way, I get far away from them with or without the law involved. I always treat people with respect, but, for some reason aggressive dudes bring out the worst in me and that's not a good match!! Good talk, Tony!

As Tony said a long time ago about giving people chances....when they mess up, 1st offsense is a mistake, 2nd time is a habit, third time is disrespect. We must think about consequences before they happen in order to avoid them.

I’ve come to realize that I like a man who can be open with his feelings and his thoughts. I feel super impressed and attracted to someone who can express themself in a nice direct and patient manner. The older I get the more I want companionship over anything.
16:59 broke my whole being. To hear that made me just sad sad. I remember when I was 19 my co-manager was in an abusive relationship. She would come to work bruised. She called in a lot. The head manager was so insensitive. I didn't really understand the situation and couldn't process it. But listening to Tony brought that memory back. Her BF was kind when he dropped by the store. 😔
Mine was the “Super Fake” type an Online date yall and a gun owner he kept it in his pocket! I am still shell shocked after a YEAR I caught him rummaging for his gun in the middle of the night. He was definitely plotting because my gut told me. I finally had paid for him to leave almost a month later. Background check people please. Turned out he was a squatter and had court cases of not leaving peoples homes. 😳 What had happened is I invited him over for Thanksgiving and he wouldn't leave...said he was in luv etc lawdy😥

@@keisharianderson6097 Great question! It's a person that comes to your home and won't leave...then you have to literally go to court and evict them as if they are a tennant. It's crazy and the law varies by state. Squatting is an old times term for a person sitting and not moving also trashing your house and not bathing/cleaning. After he was gone I did a court record search and found he did it 3times to others. I couldn't believe it. He kept saying he was trying to find a place to stay.

Tony is right! There were warnings signs but I brushed it away. Swearing on text because I didn’t answer his calls. Grab and squeeze the back of my neck kind of hard when I was talking to a guy I knew and my ex felt I disrespected him. Later on call me names and back hand me and punch my stomach. Choke me on the bed and I thought I was going to die cause I couldn’t breath . I’m glad I had the strength to leave.

Definitely true wisdom. I know about the hairs on the back of my neck rising up. The guy's very first blow up was punching holes in my wall and backing me into a corner trying to choke me. That's all it took. I knew if I stayed in that situation I would be dead or he would be. I just could not take a beating when I had only been good to him. I simply said "No" to his latest business scheme. I told him to show me he could be a provider without my money, car or credit. He blew all the way up. God knows I don't ever want to take anyone's life nor die before my time. But for God, one of us would not be here today. It doesn't matter the age either. I am over 45 years old. I halfway thought he was my last chance. I settled for way less than I deserved. Fear of loneliness can make you do that. He was an angry, dysfunctional, weak and insecure male inside but on the surface super over the top nice, romantic and calm for almost a year. Red flag...almost to good to be true type. He was one of the types Tony spoke on. Listen to Tony both young and mature ladies and recognize when it's time to go...then no matter what, you GOTTA GO!!!

Wake up women! Do not tolerate aggression.
Never let a man move in with you even if he becomes homeless. Once in your home almost impossible to get rid of him. Never let him know where you live or go to his place especially early on. Meet his family and friends before you visit his home or be alone with him. This way you know he is not married if you meet his family and friends. Take it slow.
Even with all those precautions, they can still be crazy.. in my case, I knew a guy for a year. We met at a mutual friends get together. I met his mom and sisters. He would be what people would consider a high value man. Very good job( VP of IT at a prestigious bank) own house, good looking, ambitious, very smart( valedictorian in college). On our third “date” he ended up strangling me because he said I lied to him smh, which I didn’t. I never saw any indication of this behavior before. After that day, I never spoke to him again. Some of these guys are good at hiding that crazy gene.

When seeking a male opinion, we still must be careful as women. We have to make sure the person we are confiding in isn't trying to sleep with us himself or telling us what we want to hear for his own benefit. A man maybe telling you truths about another man but is it genuine? Is there a motive behind his actions? One thing about a woman, we see the signs - we just ignore those red flags. It's always better to seek counseling from someone who doesn't know you or your partner. Some of the same men who are trying to counsel women are the main ones they need to pay attention to. I have found by research that many of them have histories of domestic violence against women themselves. People are capable of anything, it doesn't matter who they are, who they say they are or who you think they are, HUMAN BEINGS ARE CAPABLE OF ANYTHING.

I remember when my relationships with an abusive grown boy was in the kinda last phase, after 5 years, I always felt death when I was next to him. I dont understand how to explain it more clear, but I felt like I’m dead already when he was around. It was very strange and I never felt this way before or after that period and next to that grownboy. So, the longer it lasted, the worse it became just like Tony described, and then that feeling of death. That feeling was pushing me away from him. Then just occasionally found a video of Tony...
