@@hamradiostationg0dtx583 Hi John thanks mate. Yes they have 7 kids so they need the extra rooms. Luckily he is a builder so it's a homebrew job which is taking a lot longer than normal but to be fair he is doing a cracking job it's looking good. I watched him take the chimney down which I know caused a blind spot on my sat passes at a certain position. So far it's all wood and plastic that's up so fingers crossed I'll be slightly better off without the chimney 😉

Great video, it’s important for others to see that not everything works first time, but with some perseverance you can get results. If it was easy, there would be no challenge.

@@3dntheli thanks Andy I totally agree with you regarding the challenge. I have spent lots of time trying different software, antennas, radios and anything else I can do and that part is the best bit. It keeps the brain health up and it's never completely ever finished. Lol I love the experiments and it is a bonus with a positive result. Tnx 73

@@sptvids good stuff on you chasing the birds, that's what I like to hear 👌. I will probably try a nice new Icom eventually when I get some secret savings together 😉. I can connect the same software Satpc32 and having a bandscope could be useful on the SSB birds. For now my FT-847 is still doing well but if I upgrade to the Icom I can use the FT-847 outdoors with the Arrow 🤔. 73 thanks for watching and posting

@@M0YKSHamRadio 👍I bought the IC705 as my first radio, it is good, but wasn't wise move to start out with. I understand it more every day, very complicated, it was interesting to actually see the effect of doppler on the waterfall last night

Great stuff and loved the way you just keep trying, I've got the baofeng and yes it's a great receiver. A mate of mine the other day was just listening to the space station on his QUANSHENG, his channel is just called DELL BOY, very impressive just on a QUANSHENG, thanks again for your work, great to see you not giving up, even when people just coming over to top of you, Alan from LUTON 26, CT48/70. 73s 💯🍻👍

@alanslade2319 Hi Alan thanks bro and I appreciate the watch and comments. I like the Queshang and have a couple which I might hook up to the same sat antenna which I used here and see if they are better than BAOFENG 🤔 keep a watch out for that.
The budget radios from these two Chinese manufacturers are great to get into the radio hobby and receive signals very well with the use of a better antenna. I like using them whilst waking the dogs but the big manufacturers such as YAESU Kenwood and Icom are on a next level but also on a much bigger price tag. The best low cost top performing handset I know of is the one my Daughter M7ELC uses which was sent from HAM Radio Outlet - Portland Oregon YAESU FT 4x dual band super clean and awesome. 73 bro tnx agn

@@santossalinas7209 hi Santos great to hear you are enjoying the satellite band. I think the best ops start by listening and getting used to keeping up with both the sat position and frequency. The UV-5rs receive well and have big battery life 👍. I look forward to hearing from you again and seeing how you progress to the next stage and with the right pass make a QSO with you. 73 have fun thanks for the comments

    Hi Simon.
You may be interested in trying a handheld running OpenGD77. One radio I have running this firmware is the Retevis RT3s, which has an embedded GPS receiver. OpenGD77 has a satellite application which as well as showing the relative position of the satellite also automatically compensates for Doppler shift on both receive and transmit. Having the embedded GPS receiver ensures that both location and time are accurate. You install the latest 2 line elements through the OpenGD77 CPS. The radio isn’t exactly Baofeng money but is still sub £100, and you also have the DMR mode.
    Regards
    Nidge (G0NIG).

I have seen the Radio and seen the OpenGD77 mentioned but didn't really know what it was. Your explanation is excellent and I will have a look at getting one. I really like the outdoor QRP sat stuff it's tons of fun and very hands on. I look forward to seeing you or hearing you soon. Thanks again. de M0YKS Simon

@DarkHelmet46 the first min is quiet if you forward the start it's loud and clear. Sat operating is tricky, catching everything on a video whilst outside waiting for an hour for the bird to come over and someone's dog in the next street barking is all out of my hands. 😆
