Question pls: could our thinking be controlled by our imagination (which brings up negative thoughts and images perhaps)? or is all the negativity stored in the heart as pain? I believe Im confused...
Negativity is in us like a computer program running due to the 'first man' Adam's influence we were born into: as born again Christians we now into the 'new man' from Heaven, Jesus; scripture says we have to work to enter into His rest, so it takes effort to overcome the negative programming in us. Faith is believing and trusting God in and through Jesus, while fear is a form of faith but in the devil and is a terrorist, so we need to counter it with positivity. For example, if you find yourself asking 'what if' this and that about something, and the 'what ifs' are fearful - things that might go wrong (such thinking tends to be!), it takes effort to turn this into positive 'what ifs', but you can do it in Christ. So, 'what if my child gets hurt on that school trip?' you can counter with, 'what if Jesus blesses my child on that school trip?' and then turn it into a confession: 'my child is blessed in Jesus, no weapon formed against my child shall prosper, in Jesus' Name. Amen!' In other words, preach to yourself, and read the Bible in faith as well. Grace & Peace to you, in the Name of our Lord Jesus.
