    I know an Igbo man a highly qualified chemical Engineer for the UK. After working with the Nigeria Cement Company PLC Nkalagu, he moved back to London, and later he was selling cars. The man had more than 20 cars and up to 150 buses which he gave to many transport companies like ITC, and many of them. Then all of a sudden, the man came back to Nigeria, started selling all his cars, those he didn't sell all hanged up and many parked on the road and destroyed. This man turned to farming, and heavy pork and palm wine consumption, in Ebonyi state. People said he was mad and that his father placed a curse on him. He didn't do well in agriculture now he lived in poverty. This man has a command of intellect.

    Segun Odegbami just said, "there`s so much ignorance..."
    This is the major problem in Nigeria: ignorance because of lack of education.
    Depression means madness to the ignorant in the society while someone who
    is informed knows that this can happen to anybody and can easily be taken care of
    by the right medical treatment..

    There are several videos of Yekini being interviewed in English and he has a fairly good proficiency, he also speaks good Spanish and Portuguese. I am surprised that he said Rashidi can't speak in English.

    Wait a minute! Did bros Sege just say that Rashid Yekini was somewhat challenged in English?
    I'm sure our gentleman bros Segun Odegbami certainly knew the late Yekini better than most, but I have a question; how did Yekini learn Portuguese and Spanish that he was speaking with confidence and flourish in some of the videos on CZcams?
    If I didn't see those videos and only watched this interview, I'd be inclined to believe that Yekini was an illiterate, but anyone who can master conversational knowledge of a second language is in my book an unrecognized intellectual.
    But please don't just take my word for it, look up the video yourself and be simply amazed,...in fact blown away like I was.
    What a well gifted guy!

      @olufemitaiwo8574 Před 5 lety

      Paul E an illiterate can learn any language. Learning and speaking any language has nothing to do with education. How did kids learn to speak before starting school?

      Rashidi had a good command of English language....there are lots of videos on CZcams he spoke fluently in English.

      Am very sure chief Odegbami knows him very well. Late Rashidi was an understudy striker with the early 80 eagle that include Segun Odegbami and the two of them where twin striker for shooting stars team that went all the way to the final of African champion cup final in 1985. Sir it's easy to pick up basic second language going by the standard of the great Rashidi instincts.

    Talent must however be given a priority over education, this to say that a child who has the talent that is spelt out in any game should not be discouraged on the ground that "if you had been in school you would have been selected" but rather it should be a thing to talk them into amidst their talents. Thanks.

      Alfred Malam , he was a loner by nature, Segun Odegbami confrimed that also in this interview. He did wrong himself by staying in the net and celebrate. Goal scorers always run to the provider of the pass to them. Just a mess really.

      You are misinterpreting Segun odegbami, what he was doing at the back was to tell those organisations that want to help Rashidi not to be doing interviews upon interview but should focus on helping him through what he knows better which is football not bringing him on any platform to be blowing grammar. But help him with endorsement and give him sport training kits material to start a program to empower youths, not a program where he will be blowing grammar every week. I hope you understand what Segun odegbami means.
