  • My brother recently completed the installation of his new bathroom suite (which you can see in the picture) and kindly allowed me to take some pictures and recordings for my channel. As always this is a short clip which was looped several times to make the 2 hour long recording! I recorded this version using my Zoom H6, which was around 3 feet away from the bath during the recording.
All photographs and sound files used to create this video have been recorded by me. I never use any content belonging to others to create my videos!

When I was 2-3 I remember when my mom was still training me to wake up and use the bathroom but sometimes I would wet the bed and I remember the moments when she would wake me up so soft and gentle in the middle of the night maybe 2 am to change my bedding but the specialist part is when she would place me in the tub and run the water while I was still half sleep and was me up and sometimes she would just let me sit there and listen to the water and play in it I feel like that moment stay with me forever and I adore it so thank you for bringing back this memory, feeling and soothing peaceful sound God bless you ❤

I love reading all the details from others bathtub journeys. It’s particularly interesting that so many of us liked being wrapped in a towel. It’s almost like being swaddled as a baby. Or sometimes you put a robe over your body. I usually curled up in a fetal position. Did you? Many times I sleep this way as well. Feels so safe and warm. I felt so good snuggled up next to the tub listening only to the sound of water coming out and hitting the tub. There was a special echoing sound this way. It may even be similar sound to those who listened on the other side of a wall when a family member took a bath. Anyway, It was as if I was in my own world feeling safe and at peace with everything. Every so often, water drops would hit my skin and give me goosebumps and tingles. I was never so happy. And, wondering if anyone ever reached out their hand to touch the cool tile floor to experience that sensation. Not sure why I did that unless it was just to add another layer of feeling something to the experience. Would be curious to know what you think. Also, I liked to reach in the tub sometimes and feel the warm water against my skin. I did that because I love the feel of water almost as much as the sound.
Then sometimes I would get in the tub at the end and feel the warm water envelop my body, giving me more goosebumps. Most of all I didn’t want the sound to end. I’m so grateful we have ASMR video recordings now so we can go to sleep experiencing the watery wonders of our childhood.
All of your stories bring me much happiness and tingles. Thank you for sharing and for being one of the water babies in this great community. Would others consider sharing one of your bath stories? Even if it’s very similar it would be nice to hear your version. Be well. 😊

I am born on November 10th 1978. I have always enjoyed running water sounds since the mid 80's. I love bath tubs notably for the running water sounds. Listening to such videos keeps me young in spirit. I guess as a Scorpio - Water - is germane to the sign as I've read.

Love this one! It really captures the hollow drumming that causes the most chills for me. Thanks so much for all you have done for us water lovers out here. The sound is deeply comforting and touches me on a spiritual level. I use it daily to help with peaceful relaxation and the deep sound creates a sanctuary when times are tough. I can close my eyes and visualize a tub slowly filling with shimmering water to complete the experience.

A late October Saturday evening and the wind blows the dry leaves across the roof below the second floor bathroom window. A light rain begins as the sky continues to darken. I enter the bathroom and start the taps running in the large roll top cast iron bathtub, not too fast but just enough to get the deep drumming in the bottom of the tub. I wrap a towel around me and shiver at the sound. It’s not a school night so I can take as long as I want. I open the window on a crack and hear the rain and smell the leaves of autumn. A cool burst of wind chills me and I look out into the darkness and feel safe and secure. After a few minutes I close the window and put the blind down. Now I take my place on the bath mat and put my back against the cold tub. Immediate shivers and chills overcome me. I hug my knees, close my eyes, and listen to the water sounds surround me.

A summer evening and my Dad surprises us after dinner by telling us to put on our bathing suits, grab a towel, and meet him at the car in five minutes. We are heading to the beach for an evening swim. We run like lightning and climb into the back seat. The ocean is less than five minutes away and the tide chart says it should be low tide. Dad parks and we fly across the empty beach tossing our towels in the air. The tide is low and we run into the water to get out to the waves so we can body surf. I try to keep up with my brothers and father but they are bigger and stronger than me. I love these long summer evenings when even the sun seems to hate going to bed. After an hour Dad calls an end to our fun and we head back to the car and sit on our towels. Once at home the bathroom is occupied with everyone grabbing a shower to wash off the salt and sand, but I wait until they finish because I know I will have the bathroom to myself. Once everyone is done I have the tub for my very own. I close and lock the door, work my way out of my suit and wrap a towel around me. I start the taps running slowly until I get the sounds I desire. The distant drumming of the water on the tub bottom, almost muffled, is what I am after. It lifts me and chills me. I perch on the edge of the roll top tub and look down on the shimmering water as it tries to make its way towards me. I pull another towel around my shoulders and over my head, and shiver. The water is working its magic once again. Steam begins to rise from the water and warms my bare feet. The towel over my head muffles the sounds even more and makes me feel like I am miles away. I close my eyes and try to become part of the water. I am safe and at peace.

Sometimes I would sit next to the tub and lay my head down on the side to watch the water come out. The cool porcelain felt good. When water hit the tub, I could occasionally feel the small splash hit my face. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. And, the sound of the water, very much like this, would take me to another place. I felt so safe and warm. 😊

When I was a small child and I discovered the amazing sound of water running in the bath tub, it would consume me. I was able to adjust the water to my liking and tune it almost like tuning a radio. I could take my time and run the water slowly, to get the perfect sound that gave me the most shivers and chills. I was given a box of rose scented soap one Christmas and it always came with me on bath night. To this day when I smell the scent of roses the decades melt away and I am back to being a small child again. I would prepare myself by wrapping a large towel around me, and then I was ready to “go on my journey”. I would begin to run the water and sit on the bath mat with my eyes closed, and let the sound surround and transport me. In my mind I would ride along on the deep drumming sound above the darkened roof tops of night. Like a magic carpet ride, I would become silent and stealthy except for the sounds of the water. I would ride above the streets, the houses, the street lights, while darkness surrounded me. I would wrap a towel around my shoulders to always feel secure and safe, the sounds of the water protected me. I would ride to the empty beach and travel above the shore, the waves, the sand. When I was ready to return I began my route back, always accompanied by the deep drumming of the water on the tub bottom. Once I returned I would slowly open my eyes and find I was next to the tub again with the shimmering water slowly filling it up. I gazed at the water, surrounded by the sound, and began to shiver.

It is an early evening in January, cold and sharp, with a skim of fresh snow in the bare trees and on the ground. The sky has given way to the night as the almost full moon rises slowly into view. It makes the snow in the field glow and casts shadows with its radiant light. The boney fingers of the tree branches reach up silently as if to capture the moon. I take in the beauty of this stark sight as I sit on edge of the tub and prepare to add the “musical score” that will complete the scene. I close the blinds content that what I have just seen will remain in my mind. I wrap a bath towel around me and get down to business. I turn the taps on in the claw foot bathtub to get the hot water up to temperature so I can mix the water to my liking. Then I slow down the volume of the taps and put the rubber plug in the drain to begin filling the tub. All is perfect and I begin to shiver. I kneel on the bath mat and lean my arms on the edge of the cold tub. I put a small red plastic boat on the dry bottom of the end of the tub and watch as the water creeps towards it. The hollow, almost distant sound of the drumming water overtakes me and my body shivers with the chilly sensation it has caused. Now is when I close my eyes and remember what I have seen; the moonlight , the shadows, and feel the cold. It magnifies my shivers and although I am alone I feel safe, secure and protected. I slowly open my eyes and see the water has almost reached the boat. I visualize myself climbing into the boat as the water touches the bow and begins to swing it towards the stern. Some nights I travel on the water sounds alone, and some nights I travel in a clear glass vehicle over the trees in the darkness. But tonight I am traveling by boat. Such is the imagination of a small child combined with the magic of the water.

I seem to enjoy my baths more than my usual showers at the moment; the one at my house is a big freestanding one, and I feel that they satisfy me more because I can relax my body in the warm water with lots of bubbles, which I do for about an hour, then I would spend the last 15 minutes happily washing myself before getting out, and they're fun and relaxing for me. ;) Plus it helps me if I have trouble sleeping; I find that if I have a bath before bed, I can fall asleep readily similar to how Petrol instantly catches fire when you expose it to a spark or naked flame. The only times when showers seem to satisfy me most of the time is if I'm really dirty, I'm very hot and sweaty or if I need to get the loose hairs off me after my haircut.
