  • "Our ancestors are not animists and that is one thing we want to dispel."
Some religious beliefs of the Philippine ancestors are integrated in the Catholic religion such as the burial of the 'Rajahs' and the 'Datus' which is very similar to the one being done to Jesus Christ during Good Friday, according to Ian Alfonso, head of the Secretariat of the National Quincentennial Commission.

The supreme god of the religion of the Visayans, when explicitly recorded by contemporary historians, was identified as "Abba" by Pigafetta and "Kan-Laon" (also spelled "Laon") by the Jesuit historian Pedro Chirino in 1604, comparable to the Tagalog "Bathala". There is no mention of Islam.[38] This is in contrast to the other locations visited by the Magellan expedition where Pigafetta readily identifies the Muslims whom they encountered; he would call them Moros after the Muslim Moors of medieval Spain and northern Africa, to distinguish them from the polytheistic "heathens".[17][30][39] In fact, during the mass baptism of the Cebuanos to Christianity, he clearly identifies them as "heathens," not Moros:[17][31]

Reply to dota216 - Yes, much of the central Asian people migrated to different places on Earth -- concentrated widely in European nations; including Great Britain. Today in modern times the "moros," or muslims kindred are still scattered everywhere on Earth, which would mean they are not all back in their homelands, nor have their own economy and a restored cultures in their own native lands. A high number of their population is still in asylum status in USA to this day, and many Anglo-Americans are scratching their heads as to why and how they ended up in United States where living is pretty difficult and economically expensive. USA, just like any country, could never financially support or provide Jobs for a high volume of humans from all over the world -- hoping to achieve a much better existence and a successful life in just one country. It's a mammoth responsibility for any gov't to have to feed and to create free Jobs for them at anytime they would reach the American shores. Both Europe continent and USA and a few other countries have suffered greatly as a result of over migration of humans from foreign lands -- with a very large amount of nationwide debt to date and could never be financially restored back to its former status. As for God's response to this confused issue, must read Gen 10 -- The table of Nations. Jeremiah 29:5-10 has recorded this statement, which is directly coming from God: "Build houses and make yourselves at home." That decree is from a long defunct civilizations from ours today -- modern era. That would translate to mean -- every society with each own gov't must be responsible for their own people and must also be responsible for creating Jobs for them, which is a sharp contrast to illegally live in foreign lands and expecting their gov't to fix their economic problems and to support their survival on Earth. Wag mag dami mag labas ng tao galing sa tiyan -- dahil eto ang numero Ono na cause for poverty and hunger; stealing other people's property; killing innocent fellowman on earth for money; disrupting the rule of law; and for having a very angry outlook on life and lashing out the inward disappointments on other people on Earth, etc. Be self disciplined sa SeX; especially unwanted and useless SeX with the opposite gender. Wonderful discourse on air -- discussing historical backgrounds of religions from around the world. God bless you, Philippinnians. Take courage and continue plugging and chugging to bring everything you have hoped for sa Bansa complete. Have yourself a very Merry Christmas this year - 2022.

ang totoo po niyan walang ebidensya na ang ophir ay pilipinas. walang koneksyon ang kristyanismo at ang sinaunang pilipino. dahil bago pa man dumating ang mga mananakop may sarili tayong lipunan, may mga kaharian sa ibat ibang kapuluan which is based on Sri Vijaya or Majapahit kingdom. may mga small kingdoms po tayo nun like kingdom of tondo, namayan, kingdom sa may part of pangasinan na kung saan naroon si Urduja, at iba pa. it means to say this kingdoms are indianized. as well as we have links to different asian kingdoms for trade so it must be reflected in everyday life of natives before. kaya sa madaling salita, ang mga ninuno natin ay nagsasamba ng ibat ibang relihyon. pwedeng hindu-buddhist with animism. example of animism ay mga anito.

Simple as that.

tweet: The Philippines is chosen by God the Almighty to be a part of his Large family by ordained providence. Here's why? You are the only country God had made sure must be reached by the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the Far-East. There's no other country near you now and even back in the old days that got converted to Christianity as their national official Religion-except for the Philippines or the Philippin-neans (today) as a civilization. With some extrapolation, I suspect the native-species discovered by Ferdinand Magellan, were most likely practicing the superstitious style of worship; and perhaps, maybe even worshiping the Sun as their God with tribal instrumental music, (i.e., banjo and drum beat dancing). But there’s no evidence today to prove that they had worshiped some gods using a statue-this is inconclusive as there are no statues that can be found in the early life of (Las Islas Pilipinas) during the -- 1500s era. Great conversation! Be blessed.

May he be Jewish, or not, there simply isn't a concrete proof around to null and to void the presence of a Supreme Power or a Supreme Spirit Being in the sky; earth and seas.
