I'm glad you feel that way :) My songs don't get as many views as all the parody raps and stuff, but I have the satisfaction of knowing that I have small but intensely passionate audience. You guys love the stories in games/movies as much as I do, and love celebrating them with me and that makes me smile :)
While I also enjoy the parody raps, I like that your songs have more to them than just "ooh, video game", and can stand on their own, without the context of a game.
I absolutely love that line "There's a darker shade courage / in the strength I've found". When the sh*t hits the fan people realize what they're capable of so much more than they ever thought.

Not just that but I love specifically that it’s the DARKER shade of courage.
It’s still strong and not backing down in the face of fear, but like what Lara and what she goes through, it’s not nice.

A few years back, I moved halfway across America to take a job in a new city. It turned into a brutal, 60+ hour a week nightmare when my boss quit and I was saddled with a load of responsibilities that drastically exceeded my skills at the time. I spent the better part of a year with a 7-day workweek and bordering on a full mental collapse. Whenever I was crunching to get the company's payroll finished on time at 3 AM on a Sunday night, this was the song I was listening. It was a source of power an inspiration when I really, really needed one.
I eventually got a lot better at my job, and I now run that company's accounting department. I still go back to this song now and again as a reminder of how it felt to face those challenges and grow as a person. Thanks for making great music, Gavin.

I was doing my PhD and the university had equally appalling working conditions. I loved to listen to Gavs songs in the lab.
His songs are an inspiration to me as well. I’m not going through what you’ve been through. My circumstances are drastically different. But I discovered this song recently and it’s definitely an inspiration

2. It was the artist's idea and I believe it summed up MOS to him - music mixed with sci-fi/fantasy/epic stores :)

I think this has to be my favourite of Gavin's songs :) Empowering and uplifting, I never get tired of listening to it.
This game really renewed my respect for Lara. You get to see a beautiful character development where she goes from weak and vulnerable, to desperate survivor and finally to a tenacious fighter who just won't give up or break down no matter what. This game turned out to be alot more enjoyable than I would've imagined and was, for me atleast, easily the best game so far in 2013. And you were already making an awesome tribute for it before I was gonna ask if you were going to. Thx, Love you Gav. xD
I know you're planning to go back and redo a bunch of your older songs, Gav - is there a possibility for a new version of this with Lisa Foiles' vocals to tie it fully with the later "Edge of the World", as she now is the Miracle of Sound "Lara voice" :D

I like how your music reflects so much of gaming itself. There's the admiration we all have for it but it also improves and gets refined over time. Like a developer getting more comfortable with hardware over the years, your music sounds more and more fine tuned with every entry. Great song, Mr. Gav, can't wait for Level 3 =)

I'd somewhat consider myself and old-school Tomb Raider fan, even though I hardly ever played the original games though when I was little I watched my father play them a lot.
So when I finally get to playing this game (Steam Sale and an overfull library, you know it) I played the game straight for 5 hours before I even paused the game, finished the story in 3 more hours and another 3 later I got to 80% completion, in one day.
Yes, I played it for half a day, I think that says enough on how much I like it though I will admit there's not much Post-Game stuff and the multiplayer does seem to be deader then the Solarii but you can't win them all.
I'm looking forward to what they'll do with the sequel, will they go all original for it as well or will we see some old stuff like Natla and Atlantis show up?

Every1 who says this is a bad game is an idiot. The game is great in terms of gameplay and excellent in terms of story and hopefully the new tomb raider series will not be a bunch 2bit sequals like the previous series was but will try to be as good or better then this game which is already great

Heh, sounds like one of my frequencies too. My loudest one though is about 15Khtz, which is an extremely nasty tone to have in your brain, and then there are other ones like that one which get loud when I pay attention to them. But getting used to it now thank fuck!

Magnificent, once again you never cease to amaze
There gotta be a market within game-development for talented musicians that can almost jump from one genre to the other without even the slightest hint of hesitation. Wouldn't it be beneficial for a game company to have a musician that can change what kind of music he's making, based on the game at hand? Surely, studios with 4-5 different IP's, or even publishers would get alot for their money to just hire you full-time to jump between IP's.
The music has an interesting mix of orchestral strings and heavy metal drums/guitars. Such a combination has been done before, but this particular song seems to combine them in a manner that sounds different. I can't quite put my finger on what seems unique, but it's cool nonetheless. I quite like it.

My entire life I've heard ringing in my ears. It was not until I saw you going through these troubles that I realized it was not normal and was a medical condition. I hope you have more good days than bad, because I know how hard it can be to ignore it when the bad days come around. Tonally it sounds a bit more fitting to the dark desperation of Tomb Raider, but you're not wrong about it sounding rather FC3 too.

Positive criticism here: I LOVE to sing your songs out loud, Gavin, but English is my second language . Therefore I really like it when the lyrics are shown. And yes: whenever I sing The Joker's song, or Hell to pay to my French-canadian co-workers, they are all baffled about where that song is from. :-)

A little late and you may already know this, but I found that if the lyrics aren't in the video itself, they're usually in the description, which is where they are for this video.
I tried picking up a Spanish song years ago, but it was next to impossible to do so. I definitely get where you're coming from. You write in English better than I write in Spanish though. A hell of a lot better.
This and other miracle of sound songs helped me get through some pretty crappy stuff

When I made the Cyberpunk song it was during a quiet spell when I didn't also have a 7 minute, multi-genre Bioshock song to finish and a 20-song album to mix & master.
