- This was my first trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 3 years, consistently voted the world's most beautiful park, and they have one beautiful coaster addition I wanted to check out, Pantheon. This was my experience with it on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Awww. It’s so cool to see you being a huge coaster enthusiast, just like me, and a parent. I love when you have your daughters in videos, your relationships with them seem to be great!
Sophie has a delightfully blunt reaction to everything!
I love that Sophie has more credits than I do, and I’m a full-fledged adult. It must help that her father is a full-fledged coaster CZcamsr. Also, Pantheon is amazing. Top 3 coaster for me
She has like over TEN TIMES as many credits as I do, and none are at the park in this video, and I’ve been there three times (albeit the first two were when I was young and they only had four coasters)
She has me beat too. I am at 102 My son has me beat too. He is willing to ride boomerangs, kiddie coasters, and SLCs to get the credits, but I am not that OCD about it.
@@Zepp914 I'm at like 84-85. Hahah has me beat. Freakin 7-8 year old or whatever. The shame! Right on Sophie.
“What the Dollywood”
-Airtime Thrills 2022
For some reason, I wasn’t super hyped for Pantheon, which is weird considering how amazing Velocicoaster is, but yeah it shattered expectations.
Fun fact: My stepdad was working at BGW in the loading bay of Apollo's Chariot during the Fabio goose incident. He remembers the marketing director bawling her eyes out and everyone else trying their hardest not to laugh their asses off.
Pantheon was a great fit for the park and easily the best coaster there. Me and my son Alex both thought it was great, but it won’t crack my Top 20 of the 605 coasters I’ve ridden. It’s great to see Sophie trying out the bigger intense coasters. It’s great to have your kid as your “Ride or die” partner (Fast & Furious) for coasters. It’s cool to have something that bonds you that brings happy lifelong memories!
Yeah I’m glad to see this park finally get that standout coaster. Not really accessible for me to ride anytime soon but I got on Velocicoaster a couple weeks ago which seems to be a mildly similar level of thrill and if it’s anything close to that work of art in IOA then it is exactly what BGW needed
pantheon is by far my #1 (i only have ridden ~40 rollercoasters)
Jesus you have 605 credits
When your kid says “I want the credit” you know you did something very right or very very wrong 😂
Amy is stealing the show, as usual 🤣
Seems like this was the gateway trip for Sophie. She's become a full fledged enthusiast!
Dollywood was the tipping point
Your family is too cute. 🙂 And the way Sophie has just blown past my credit count… lol! I gotta get out there!
Also, I’m glad you got a good ride on Alpie. That ride gets more crap than it deserves. It truly is a great coaster. 🙌🏾
I had a evac experience off Pantheon in mid March, and let me tell you it is surreal, but it is so miserable in hot weather. It seems to happen a lot since it opened.
yeah ive seen pantheon close down so much recently. And for so many different reasons
So much for the “reliable Intamin” claims
@@ItsSiebay facts, everytime I've gone to KD too I305 has been closed for part of the day
It's an Intamin lol
So happy you’re finally able to go on more trips! Win for you and a win for us as love your content!!
I’m going here on Saturday!! Thank you for this content! Very enjoyable!
I love Sophie’s takes on the coasters! She’s awesome!
Glad to see you guys could get out to Busch Gardens!!! Keep up the good work.
Great video review. Makes me want to go there again. What the Dollywood had me laughing because that was my experience there too, on a sunny Saturday
Chris, you and Sophie remind me of my time with my stepdaughter! We did Galaxyland together when she was 13 - You got a few years till then, but how long ago was it that Sophie was terrified of "adult" rides? Look at her now! Way to go dude :) These videos take me back to good times.
Before Dollywood she was still pretty apprehensive. Lightning rod turned her around
I’ve been waiting so long to ride Pantheon vicariously through you man!! Thanks 🤙
Great shirt!! Thanks for he updates hoping to be back at BG for the first time since 2016 later this year.
This is a great coaster for sure. I’ve never been on any coasters outside of BGW and Walt Disney World from what I remember, but Pantheon and Griffon are the best coasters I’ve ridden so far.
I love your hat, Chris! Great job, Sophie, in bringing that to your dad.
Great report from BGW. I was there on the day you posted this. An early evening storm-nearby scared away everyone. Pantheon was a walk-on for the last hour, and I got to stay on the train a couple times. Agreed, it is amazing! But it sure is a technical nightmare. It goes down all the time. It went down for an hour because the winds got to 10 mph, and that's just one of many things that make it go down. I got very lucky that day with that marathon at the end.
Great vlog, Chris and Sophie.
Thank you for enjoying my favorite park on earth. Yes Pantheon became my favorite ride in the park.
Great video! I enjoyed watching!
I love your videos dude, I'm a huge rollercoaster fanatic like you and I think it's time to start logging my credits. Keep up with the awesome content!!
I love these vlogs that include the whole family, keep them coming!!
It was so cool meeting you here! I left at about 5:30 as I had a 3 hour drive back to Ocean City. I'm glad you were able to get a few more Pantheon rides! I'm not as impressed with it as you are (technical issues, low capacity, and unaccommodating lapbars are big problems), but I'm glad you liked it a lot.
Its awesome to see you adventuring from Busch Garden to Busch Garden! Hope Iron Gwazi performs very well like Pantheon did!!!
Sophie is awesome. There is zero chance I would have ridden the coasters she’s done at her age.
I’m so happy you came back to this park
i love these vlogs so much, keep it up Chris!!
I'm glad to see you had an awesome time at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I was there back in I think April, and loved every single ride at the park. I got three rides on Pantheon during my time there one middle of the train, and two back row and they were absolutely insane. Griffon was my first dive coaster I ever rode and I rode that like 8 times or so between Saturday and Sunday. They honestly do not have a bad coaster at the park. Worst for me was tempesto since it really didn't do anything for me and those trains are hard as hell to get in and out of.
Agreed, no bad coasters here
Awww Amy is so adorable 😊. I was at BGW a week ago, wish I saw you but yeah, pantheon is fantastic!
My heart is warm watching that!
You two are lovely. What nice family time.
Went on pantheon in April and, especially after the night rides, my girlfriend and I both said it’s easily our favorite coaster ever. Better than steal vengeance, fury, el Toro. Literally the perfect roller coaster
Wow the most controversial opinion iv’e ever heard about coasters at least
The Sophie jump is gif worthy stuff. So pure and joyful haha. Great vlog!
I will have to visit this park, great review!
Pantheon is elite. My #10 out of 427 credits. I was really impressed with it. I think the people who complain about the lacking of theming just don't enjoy a really good coaster!
Glad you liked it Alan. It really is for me too. Was my second most ridden coaster on my 4 week USA roadtrip, and I definitely will be back one day for some more laps on it.
Totally on my bucket list!
This is exactly how I felt about it! Glad you loved it as well man
Love your vids I hope enjoy bush gardens and other thesme parks that u are going to I will be going to bush gardens wlamsburg after the ki and Kentucky kingdom trip
As a local in Virginia, I can very much confirm that the weather can go from 100 degrees to a thunderstorm, and then 20 minutes later, it’s burning hot again
Terrible isnt it?
I had a rainy experience at Kings Dominion once and it was a dead day (albeit for a private event)
@@cleonituk Honestly I’m used to it
I just went to BGW exactly 1 week before you did, I ridden all 8 roller coasters once. It was a fun time, especially riding Pantheon, which had some good airtime moments!
Williamsburg will always be my favorite park just due to how well it's put together.
The view of the bay from Griffon was amazing. Pantheon was great!
Rode Pantheon late May this year, was so good! Double edge sword of the day was storms passing thru midday but kept park mostly clear of people and got multiple rides on everything. Still need to visit again though!
Sophie’s doing great running this channel! The Chris guy is a nice recurring cameo too.
Nice! I’ve been to BGW before but im going again on Friday and it will be my first time riding Pantheon :)
I love watching you and Sophie get credits together! Raising them right 🙌
So sweet! I wanna make sure I take my nephew to all the theme parks. Busch Gardens is the best.
Hello from holiday world! Voyage is AWESOME
Sophie: I want the credit!!
Also Sophie: What’s a B&M?
😂😂😂
In all seriousness what a great day you guys had!!! Does this day move up BGW in your overall park rankings?
Hard to move up but definitely solidified its position over BGT
@@AirtimeThrills Wait actually lol
@@AirtimeThrills Wait actually lol
I love seeing you and Sophie, you seem like a fun dad!
Haha, reminds me of the time it broke right after I got on! Literally the launch after. Felt very lucky.
Rocking the 50th anniversary Kings Island shirt. One of the best parks around.
Pantheon is a wonderful addition to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Alpengeist is a tale of 2 halves. Everything up to the midcourse is intense, but it is held back by the trims.
I mean Sophie's one word reviews are kinda next level thoosie. She doesn't spoil what you're going to experience on the ride, unlike some people. :D
In any other year, Pantheon would have been the best coaster opened in a Busch Gardens park, but not this year
Hi from the uk lovin the vids keep em coming jules in the uk.
I’m so glad you had a great time at my home park. I went back in May and rode Pantheon for the first ride of the day and it temporarily shut down because of a RESTRAINT FAILURE
Yeah it likes to do that, they gotta clean the harness locks with napkins, thanks intamin
Missed you by 1 day! Rip! Pantheon blew me away when I rode it!
Our daughter is the same age as Amy and we co-sign those pink Dr. Browns bottles too! They just haven’t found their way to a theme park yet! 😂 Amy is ahead of the curve! 🤓
I visited BGW for the first time ever yesterday. Sadly Alpenheist was closed but I got to ride everything else. Loved Pantheon, Griffon, Verbolten, DarKoaster and Apollo’s Charriott. InvadR was pretty rough but not bad. Tempesto was fast and smooth but super short.
I'm glad you loved Pantheon. I keep hearing people say it was just okay or that it was underwhelming. I will easily admit that the queue, loading station and theming are genuinely embarrassing for BGW. They should have done WAY better.
But when viewed as a coaster it is really so good. From what I had heard I thought it would be good but nothing special. But I think it easily beats Maverick and it made it into my personal top 5. And I came away shocked that I like Pantheon more than its BGT counterpart Iron Gwazi. Call me crazy.
I haven’t ridden Pantheon but I’ve ridden VelociCoaster and Iron Gwazi so I might have the same opinion, I like VelociCoaster more and it wasn’t really close, iron Gwazi was closer to Mako for me
@@hangtimestudio I do like Mako quite a bit but for me Iron Gwazi is superior to Mako. But I think Pantheon still edges out Iron Gwazi because I think the elements flow really well and the airtime is more sustained. I think a lot of people love Iron Gwazi partly because it's very well paced but also because it's very different from the other RMCs and people have gotten excited about it being different. I think that's the reason so many people rank it above Steel Vengeance. Steel Vengeance is like a gigantic version of Whicked Cyclone and New Texas Giant combined but with better pacing and execution. But they are still similar. Iron Gwazi is unlike anything RMC had previously done (other than arguably Zadra.)
But to me being different doesn't automatically make Iron Gwazi better. I still think Steel Vengeance beats Iron Gwazi, as does Lightning Rod. I think Iron Gwazi's real strength is that it is very chaotic. If that's what you like then you'll love Iron Gwazi. And while it does have several very good airtime moments, I think that Steel Vengeance and Lightning Rod still have better airtime. And equally important to me is that the elements flow well together. I feel the same way about Pantheon. Even people who feel that the top hat and outer banked turn should be taken at a faster speed, they still need to acknowledge that each element flows really well from one to the next. Pantheon lets you experience each element to its fullest extent before moving on to the next thing. Iron Gwazi feels like every element is cut short because it wants to move on to something else too quickly so nothing is sustained (except the first drop and wave turn.)
@@hangtimestudio I have rode Iron Gwazi, Velocicoaster, Pantheon, and Mako and Pantheon just felt a bit boring to me and I have no idea how, Iron Gwazi definitely feels more intense than Pantheon and Velocicoaster to me, and Mako just feels like it wasn't meant to be intense so I don't think that deserves to be in this comparison
@@zacg_ I rode Lighting Rod this month and I didn't get too much airtime
I don't have even a hundred credits but Pantheon is number 2 for me only behind Steel Vengeance
Just got on there on the 22nd. I went 3 times in one day, I was super supervised how short the lines were. Top spike is INSANE.
Nice sooner hat!!!! Boomer!!!!! I can't wait to get started on my coaster tour starting in 1 month
Next to the back row was my first ride on Pantheon too! That first launch has a bit more punch to it than what it looks like off-ride. The bunny hop after the main launch/roll back about threw me off the train!
The backwards airtime bunny hop is insane
12:18 had me dying laughing “I want the credit”
Rhine River cruise is legit an underrated ride so gj doing that!
Pantheon is very good. I was actually there for passholder previews before the ride was open and I had been so hyped for it for moths at that point just waiting for it to open.
I can't wait to take my son on his first roller coaster, he's only 15 months right now. I doubt he will remember later in life but I took him with me to CP this year regardless, figured at least I'd have a picture of him with TTD behind him just in case it bites the dust soon.
I took my 10 week old son to BGW yesterday and all I kept thinking about is how I hope he loves roller coasters someday!!!
the mid course on Alpengeist was hitting way to hard when I went in April, the zero g roll was floaty but after that the ride was a drag.
Pantheon I like, however with i-305 in the same state, it just can’t beat it whatsoever. I love the speed and bone crushing intensity of i305. It won’t be beat for me.
i305 is amazing for what it is but when it comes to rerideability pantheon takes the cake for me
I mean, those who love intensity will have I-305 as the best coaster of all time, because no other ride is as bananas with g-forces as it. But for a more complete ride that you can endlessly marathon, Pantheon has it easily beat. Because trust me, if you can manage more than five rides on Intimidator without taking a break, you have issues
Sorry, I agree with Chris that I-305 is highly overrated and I don’t think it’s very intense. It wasn’t the best ride in the park when Volcano was there and it’s not the best now because of Twisted Timbers.
@@starryagent9936 have you rode mindbender at west Edmonton that makes i305 look like a kiddie coaster in intensity
That station though 🤣
And also any young kid that has a thusie for a parent is the luckiest kid ever! They go to all the theme and amusement parks 😂🤣😂
Love your vids already, but being a parent makes me appreciate ones like these more.
I so need to get to this park. I live less than two hours away and I haven’t been since 2014.
Also Apollo was the coaster that got me into big coasters, so it’s special to me if not to anyone else.
Hey chris glad to see you at my home park
I missed you by three days man, haha. I went last Friday, and safe to say the ride was DOPE. Now, I didn't enter with big expectations, but it was such fun. My personal favorite part was the reverse launch where you're just tossed out of your seat and then hit the spike. But the whole thing was just awesome.
If there was anything I WAS underwhelmed by, however, it was the firework show. You went on a Tuesday so you didn't get to see that, but you didn't miss that much. It wasn't bad per se, but compared to the magical outing I saw the previous Friday in Tampa? Not even close.
I missed the tampa one but my wife said it was amazing. I was riding cheetah hunt during it
Pantheon Looks Pretty Cool Ngl. BGW has a pretty amazing lineup
Its great that airtime thrills is bringing family together
I’m heading to Busch Gardens on the 15th am I’m so hyped for Pantheon. I’m 99% sure it’s going to be in my top 5
Yay congrats to Sophie for riding her first B&M & all these new bigger coasters!
Pantheon is amazing. Love that backwards airtime!
Its so ridiculously good
chris the walk in to BGW is totally the move. I do this every time.
Sophie convinced me enough that I need to get to Busch Gardens Williamsburg and ride Pantheon already
Dang it i was literally there on the same day as you, i was probably in line for apollos chariot while u were waiting for pantheon to reopen, i wish i couldve ran into you, that is one of my goals, but im only going to parks like once a year, did sxi flags america (major L), busch gardens willimasburg, kings dominion and carowinds this year
I like how so many rides have significant anniversaries this year. I didn't notice the "x years" badges by the ride entrances when I went a couple of months ago.
Yea i was surprised how many anniversaries there were
That’s one hell of a top 3 though, or top 4 whichever way you look at it 😂
My sister & I put it in our top 3. The other two being Hagrid’s and VelociCoaster.
This was my home park for years but I haven't been since 2014. Will try to get back this year.
Sophie is at that age where inversions are just cooler than airtime. That’s too bad that ends about the time kids become rebellious. I predict an Inversion Thrills channel in a few years.
Last summer me and my friend went to ride on verbolten and it was around 98*F. When we departed from the station, a woman fainted in line and we got stuck on the first launch for 30 minutes all because someone fainted
The 3 seconds of straight up falling out of your seat after the first launch are nuts
I finally get to ride Pantheon this weekend, after it was closed all day due to wind when I went in April.
Loved seeing myself on the pantheon platform😂
9:07 “oh no!!” Someone is regretting their life decision of getting on Griffon 🤣
Pantheon is great. 8/10. That spike is my favorite part.
Sophie is quickly becoming the star of the show
LOL @ "Gross, fan water". Love Sophie!
