    If someone is getting answer like this-
    8/1000 = 8*10^-3.
    Then do the following-
    Press SHIFT+MODE, press 8 (for NORM option), press 2.
    NORM 1:- 8/1000 = 8*10^-3
    NORM 2:- 8/1000 = 0.008
    And perform the above calculation again,if you get 1/125, press SD button (button beside the M+ button), to get the fraction form.
    I hope it helps! Kindly encourage me to make more videos by subscribing to my channel. And please share this video,because sharing is caring :-)

    To know more about significant figures and to know how to convert between scientific representation and normal decimal representation,watch my this video-
    czcams.com/video/veZtv8PF24s/video.html
    It's on Casio fx-82MS Calculator,but the concept well fits onto the casio fx-991ES and Casio fx-991ES Plus also.

      can u telll me is fx 991 es is programmable or non programmable.

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 10 lety

      It's partially programmable. Means you can program it to solve simple problems like finding root of quadratic equation, but can't run complex programs such as finding rank of a matrix. Also once the calculator is turned off,all programming is lost,you can't store programs in it.

    • @aeykays
      @aeykays Před 10 lety

      So it is allowed in upsc exam???

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 10 lety

      That you've to confirm with the exam authorities. If scientific calculators are allowed, then it should be,else maybe not. And please share here what you got to know.
      And subscribe for more updates :-)

    you can get mod values too!!!
    How to switch display mode to ab/c:
    go to settings (Shift + mode)
    press arrow down (to view more settings)
    select "ab/c" (number 1).
    Then do your calculation (in comp mode), like 50 / 3 and you will see 16 2/3 thus mod is 2 or try 54 / 7 which is 7 5/7 (mod is 5). If you don't see any fraction after the result then mod is 0 like 50 / 5 = 10 (mod is 0).
    The remainder fraction is shown in reduced form, so 60 / 8 will result in 7 1/2. Remainder is 1/2 which is 4/8 so mod is 4
    Try this with different numbers yo will understand what im sayin :D

    Yes,in some cases,while finding inverse of non-standard trigonometric values,u may get "math error". "Math error" means those calculations are not possible. Eg- 1/0(1 divided by zero). Like I got math error while doing sin^-1(63.5).

    U r talking about general integration(we also did in 11-12th std). In that u'll get ans in polynomials,not numerical value.
    But this calculator can only solve numerical integration & differentiation.
    In numerical integration,there're upper & lower limits. If limits are not given,a numerical table will be given. Numerical integration can be solved manually by Simpson's 1/3 Rule or Trapezoidal Rule.
    I'll make videos on Simpson & Trapezoidal Rule in near future. But 4 now,hope I ans ur query!

    Like, for X=2,value of your above question becomes 201.

      1. MathIO lets u use some math features as a graphical template and make them easy to use. They appear on calculator display same as they are in your textbooks,such as integration symbol with lower & upper limit. U can do integration also in LinIO mode,but can't use lower & upper limits,try it! Also u can use fraction button on MathIO as in real life.
      2. Only Ran# feature is available in Casio fx-991ES,so I can't tell about other two features.
      3. To know about Norm,Sci & fix,please watch my video- You May not Know_20 Cool Features Of Casio fx-82MS Scientific Calculator!
      4. To know about Memory(M),please watch my video- You May not Know_20 Cool Features Of Casio fx-82MS Scientific Calculator!
      5. ENG represents larger or smaller number in 10^ format. For eg- Enter 456258x69 and press = .See the answer,then press the ENG button,and see the change.

    Yes. You bring integration or differentiation sign and enter your term,say d(sinX+CosX)/dx. Though you've to enter only your term,d/dx is given by calculator template. For eg- d(sinX+CosX)/dx|x=5 produces 0.01586.
    Hope this was helpful!

    Oh ho! Nothing is wrong friend! Actually,when the calculator prompt you to enter value for a variable by variablename? (like A?) on the upper screen,it shows old value of that variable on the bottom screen. So,3005795 for me and 100 for you were the old values.

    This calculator is not allowed to used in secondary schools (in Singapore) during national exams O or N levels as it is able to calculate complex integration and differentiation and many other features. However for higher level institutes like polytechnics / University is completely allowed

    sir is there any way or application for the calculating the 2 or more parallel resistance or impedance's equivalent form in this calculator (casio fx 991 es plus)
    or can you recommend a way to get the result more quick ???
    by the way thank you for the video

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 10 lety

      Yes! If resistances are r1 & r2,then equivalent parallel resistance is-
      (r1 x r2)/(r1+r2)

    hi sujoy, do u know the differnce in functions of fx991es and fx 991 es plus .and if both of the calculators are allowed for engineering service examinations..
    ?

      +Mohit Jain ES plus has some extra features like g(x) along with f(x) for creating table etc. I don't know if that's allowed in IES/MES exams, check their guidelines.Watch my other videos here- goo.gl/uiTDQS and give your valuable comments. Hello!
    How can I change the answer to be shown, for example I divide 0.14 by 100 --> 0.14/100 = 1.4x10^(-3). When I press SD I get answer 7/5000. How can I change to be shown like 0.14/100 = 0.0014 without enabling the FIX option ? Thank you and great video! Subscribed

    Very Good Video, Thanks Sujoy! Need help..
    Comparing "Casio FX991 ES Plus" vs "TI 36x Pro" = which is better ? OR which is best, that has all the functions ?

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 8 lety

      +Ranjan S Both the calc are good in their domain. But I found Casio more user friendly and feature rich.

    • @GeoCalifornian
      @GeoCalifornian Před 8 lety

      +Ranjan S One scientific feature of the TI36X Pro that merits its tremendous usefulness is its power-off memory protection. If your TI auto-times out and turns itself off after a few minutes of non-use, you can turn it back on and the equation you were working on is still there. I wish Casio would implement memory safeguard on its calculation history; I would use my Casios more often.

    Well,I haven't use Canon calculator,though I read about it's features from canon website for you,it's technically sound,but how far it'll be user friendly like Casio that I can't say. And talking about Casio,your pick should be fx-991ES+,as it has some additional features over fx-991ES.

    Thanx a lot Dear sujoy. Can you please tell how to solve integration of logarithm functions using fx-991es calculator ?

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 9 lety

      Suraj Kaushal I think you can solve it using the normal integration operator on this calc.

    • @shinykaushal
      @shinykaushal Před 9 lety

      Sujoy Krishna Das I was trying to integrate log(sinx) from 0 to pi/2 & log (1/x - x) but it gives MATH ERROR. Why is that so ?

    • @sujoy70
      @sujoy70  Před 9 lety

      On a calculator you can't do 'divide by zero' operations. For integration log(1/x-x),and if x=0. The result becomes 1/0,which is restricted. Similar things might be happening with sin(x) operation also.

  • @sujoy70
    @sujoy70  Před 11 lety

    Press ALPHA & then M+ button to get M variable on screen. Then do needed operation.
