This could've come out yesterday, what a timeless message! Don't give up! Hope in Christ!
Fight the good fight that we be able to win the race
and he believed 2nd coming was just around the corner, just like his dad and his...
Amen!!
Schaeffer was one of the greatest Christian scholars ever!😎
This man was my first Christian influence. I am 62 years old and remember his prophetic words.
I have to comment here to share: this series was shown to my church years ago, when I was very very young. This message and the dramatizations portrayed here were imprinted deeply to my mind, particularly of martyrs at 19:40.
I was just describing this exact video to my husband last week without any idea of the title or any hope of seeing it again. Wow, how remarkable to come across this from such a long time ago.
That's how our God works!
Im here for school :)
"no totalitarian authority, no authoritarian state can tolerate those who have an absolute by which to judge that state and its actions" ... Fast forward 2020 onwards and so the scene is set but will "apathy" amongst Christians today be the catalyst into an even darker world?
May Christ have mercy on His Church and through His Spirit wake up those who are asleep in apathy!
Great presentation, thank you.
Amen brother! It’s not sleep, 99% are in a coma🤦
The story of Rome is haunting. Many many parallels to the modern USA.
Francis Shaeffer was a very wise man
Feel like we are living this in society today.
We are... apathy happened in 2016 when the arts and music really became crap. The elite abandoned the intellectual consciousness in 2009. Seeing this actually gave me an advantage to create a response rather celebrate the flow that leads to ruin yet create a flow that leads towards restoration.
18:36 "No totalitarian authority, no authoritarian state can tolerate those who have an absolute by which to judge that state and its actions."
Good line!
What an excellent series!
Anyone else watching this for school?

Ep Assignments for da win
I am watching to improve my spirituality

I actually created a formula based on this... my answer? As ethical corporations working within a system that is true to the living. A system that encourages humanity to cooperate with the ecosystem
Ethically intended
Economically
Intelligently
Politically
Militantly
Academically
Industrially
And religiously.
Peace.
Inward rottenness. That perfectly describes where we are heading at breakneck speed.
What rots anything is a dishonorable way of life, which is a direction.
This guy was way ahead of his time.
11:28 "It is important to realize the difference a people's worldview makes to their strength as they're exposed to the pressures of life."
15:52 "A weak base for a culture or an individual can only stand when the pressures are not too great."
Who else is watching this for Challenge 2?
Me! What a small world!
History should teach us how to live, but we don’t learn from it.
So we are doing doomed to repeat it, as we are now.
Because the once who realy teach us history cannot speak and the ones who get permission to speak have low background but have a diploma. Brainwashed by communism. And most people want to believe lyers.
Love watch it in my Western Man class in Bible College back in 1985
So true for 2023
Thank you Lord❣️
This is great stuff
Dang this is deep
Thank you. So true of today.
This looks super Legit!
Anyone else watching this for CC? 🥲
yuppppppppppp
@@meredithdecarlo552where do you go?
The line “The phallus cult… was strong” said with such sincere import triggered my 3rd grader sense of humor. 😂
This series is phenomenal. Reading biography about him and his wife Edith. It is remarkable how he was standing against the godless liberal theologians even in the 30's and 40's.
thanks
Much as want to believe Shaeffer's basic assertion here, I don't know it's fair to say that the Roman democracy "failed" because it lacked a sufficient philosophical base. The Roman Republic lasted several hundred years. How long does a republic have to last before we can consider it "successful"? Our own republic was birthed in a Christian society, but it's really wavering barely 200 years after its founding.
Because it is moving away from Christian values.
I agree I was thinking the same thing. If I may, I believe Sharffer meant they “failed” in aswering the questions all humans & society have asked... Morality, significance , etc. Do the lack of a philosophical base contribute to fall of civilizations? I would say yes it's one of many reasons, but I don't his point about failure is whether nations or empires still exist or not.
@@pamelabartlett6352 But that just brings us back to my original point: if you can blame our pending fall on our turning from Christian values, how did the Romans expand and last for 3 times as long as us without ever having the Christian values to begin with?
@@revelation32project95 The general trend of history is from slow to fast. Because people and information traveled slower back then, so did history. Now that we have speedier travel and communication, new ideas spread faster, which leads to faster changes is society, which leads to social upheaval happening sooner. Also, Rome had plenty of social upheavals. It went from kingdom to republic to empire.

Boy, what goes around comes around !
Anyone here from easy peasy all in one highschool 😭😭😭
Getting a big faces of death feel.
That's just the news images at the beginning. Spittin real facts tho
❤️
Hi jonathin
hello
Rome had “no value system strong enough to bear the strains of life either individually or politically”. And ultimately failed.
Neither does the modern day. I found a way to upgrade that thanks to this information
RIP mr. Baldwin.
Great music the first tunes
Händel?
It’s Corelli 🙂
@@SkylarWhitmire thanks
An excellent example of how to make use history to make whatever point you want. It gives propaganda an intellectual sheen. Frank Jr. did a great job.
Obviously got lost on yourself then?!?
Or just analysis?
An Excellent example of a fallen human with a severe lack of wisdom and therefore a lack of True Understanding. ... ... God Bless You In All Truth and Repentance. - In Christ, Christina
This may be ok without your distracting background noise you consider music of the era ......uuuuuugh
You could certainly make the argument that Christianity actually collapsed Roman Society.
That was Gibbon's argument. Their monetary policy might be a more likely candidate.
The City of God is Augustine’s famous refutation of this claim. I highly recommend it if you’re a reader!
The amount of ads drives me away
@@taxman4072 I'm definitely watching this with adblock on ;)
No ads when viewing from a paid-for CZcams subscription. Really worthwhile! Great show-good enriching content like this substantiates the subscription fee paid. 🙂👍🏻
@@AdrianBaillieStewart I got adblock on my pc jeje
The ads help pay fir the presentation, so a small price to pay for good content and one's patience is tested...
Its on tubi also. Fewer ads.
To Believe means to be persuaded or convinced
Jesus is the Christ
Christ means Messiah/Savior
Jesus Christ is the Son of God
He Saves people from Everlasting Death
He Died on the Cross, was buried, and Rose again on the third day. He Conquered Death for all Humans, no matter who they are or what they have done or will do.
Salvation
If you believe that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), The Son of God, and that He gives you eternal life simply for believing in Him, you have eternal life (John 20:31; 1 John 5:1, 10-11).
New King James Version
John 6:47
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
1 John 5:1
Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him
Once Saved Always Saved
John 6:37
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
No Biblical reference's whatsoever
It's weird how they're used to be the wicked evil world and the kind spiritual church. Now the church has become so evil and wicked even more so then what they accused the world of being.
For example...?
You are referring to the false, counterfeit church. This is Not the True Bride of Christ. ... ... ... God Bless You In All Truth and Repentance. - In Christ, Christina
Boring.
so misguided.
Here for WV1
