Week one superstar injuries happen a lot in the NFL. Brady went down in 08, Bledsoe before him (-ish, I think he was week 2), Peyton's last season on the Colts.
I tore my Achilles last year and was in an air cast for 6 weeks, physical therapy for another 6 weeks, so my journey to full recovery was pretty much the same as Aaron's but instead of bone broth and a hyperbolic chamber I went with cigars and scotch. BTW, I'm 70 and was just signed to the Jets practice squad.
Respect the knowledge of Aaron Rodgers (learning always happening). Love to listen and always having open mind about his talks . I’ve done my Achilles 3 times and have done surgery and non surgical and lastly with surgery plus peptides. Peptides definitely increased the recovery time in the initial stages to assist you in getting to the rehab stage quicker but it will still take a year to get to a stage to play professional sports and able to withstand the demands that come at that level.
That one still hurts. it looked like everything was falling into place and then literally 4 plays all the excitement and expectations were gone in a second. Hopefully he can come back and finish on his own terms

I totally ruptured my right achilles when I was 33....It took me about 2 years to get back into sports. I know I wasn't a pro ....but I wasn't too shabby. Trust in your healing and physical ability has alot to do with it.
yup i'm a year into healing from mine, except i ruptured my achilles and my posterior tendon on my right foot. I still limp pretty badly and get sore from standing too long, i dont believe it'll ever be the same.
I am glad Rogers did not come back this season. It seems to me that recovery time for a tendon or ligament tear is minimum one year, optimum is probably at least 1.5years

Im 37 and i partially tore mine in march of last year and kept playing bball on it and then started PT from July to January and just started playing again. All my stuff took about 6 1/2 months all-in. That’s wild he was basically ready to go. Everyone’s body is different. Hope Rodgers has a great 2024 season 🏈
A complete tear takes a good year to get back. There really is no way to speed up the recovery. Sure, you can start walking again after a few months but to compete at the highest level in professional sports is obviously different.
When I was 12 I broke my collarbone, kept playing on the playground till recess was over. Took me 8 months to recover. We are all different, wishing Rodger’s the best

You do lose the explosiveness for sure and you are never able to rebuild that calf muscle 100%. There is a weird type of void there. It’s hard to explain unless you go through it. But with that being said, you can still come back and play competitively again. Rodgers will definitely have a few good seasons left in him once he returns espically as a mainly pocket type QB

Insurance companies for normal guys like myself don't care if you can't be your old self again. They stop denying coverage pretty soon after 2-3 months.
Im a Jets Fan, and have been since the late 90s. I knew after how well Hard Knocks went, something bad would happen immediately. Also didn't want Rodgers, I would have preferred Offensive Line additions for obvious reasons.
I ruptured mine late october 2023. Worst paint I've ever felt but went away almost entirely within a week after. Had Surgury not until the day before Thanksgiving. 3 days of oain meds every 6 hours but stopped cometely after that. Zero pain. Followed doctors orders to a T and now almost walking normally.
I'm terrified of tearing mine. Direct male relatives have torn theirs. One time multiples same leg. Never had a lower body injury, but to lose cardio/sports may kill me. You'd story gives a little hope
I did something to mine a couple years ago. Now if I'm on my feet all day it aches and is really tender to touch. Do alot of long hard miles cycling tho and that doesn't seem to irritate it. Feels like it could rupture sometimes tho. I dread the day .
You’re not supposed to wait that long when you rupture a tendon. The tendon can deteriorate. I tore mine in April and had surgery within a week and a half. The surgery felt like I got bit by a shark. I didn’t sleep for 2 days after surgery. Tore it in April and played summer baseball in August.
This year would of been a great opportunity to win it all too, there are no super teams this year, 49ers should be but they are not playing well currently

Talk about a bad time in my lifetime because of the unsureness of playing again. Just the worst time to tear it. By FAR, the worst injury I’ve ever experienced. Broke bones, tore ACL, MCL, shoulder injuries, etc. But that Achilles injury is easily the absolute worst injury of em all. The worst part of it was the physical therapy part. Talk about extreme pain and sweating. Stretching the tendon to break scar tissue was the most painful. Just thinking about makes me sweat. Gosh that sucked so much😬😬😣😖😫😩

You’re not supposed to wait that long when you rupture a tendon. The tendon can deteriorate. I tore mine in April and had surgery within a week and a half. The surgery felt like I got bit by a shark. I didn’t sleep for 2 days after surgery. Tore it in April and played summer baseball in August.
@@IronMike212surgery also depends on the amount of swelling and inflammation. It's not always as simple as you try to make it sound.

I am no professional athlete, but I did play sports at a very competitive level. I fully tore my achilles at the age of 26. Absolute prime age. Talk about a bad time in my lifetime because of the unsureness of playing again. Just the worst time to tear it. By FAR, the worst injury I’ve ever experienced. Broke bones, tore ACL, MCL, shoulder injuries, etc. But that Achilles injury is easily the absolute worst injury of em all. The worst part of it was the physical therapy part. Talk about extreme pain and sweating. Stretching the tendon to break scar tissue was the most painful. Just thinking about makes me sweat. Gosh that sucked so much😬😬😣😖😫😩
