I personally feel physical buttons are better than touchscreens. If the screen for the climate controls breaks, it will take a good amount of money to replace it. But you can’t deny the interior do look good!

You don't use your smartphone while driving for a reason. It's distracting and behind the wheel - dangerous. You need to take your eyes completely off the road for a long time to adjust any setting. That's why it's bad.

Reveal Media if you look the previous gen a6,7 and 8 they had the same interior as well, audis have always copied their interiors in all of their line up q5,q7,a4,a6... It's the same case in BMW's though.

You are absolutely right! I get it , it's simple economics that the same interior is fitted into every model , maybe fitted with softer padded plastics into the more higher end models. However it doesn't cut for me, I used to be an audi fan til they introduced these next gen a6,a7,a8,q7 ... for me Lexus has started to really produce fascinating and unique interior designs for all of their vehicles.

Rattle from the engine was enough to spill.
Genuinely laughed out loud on many occasions; the VR was a particular highlight, as was the insect dive bombing Mat at the very end.

Thank you for making sensible and concise videos that don’t give me epileptic seizures. Thank you. The reason that piece of the dashboard is hollow plastic and flimsy is because these cars will need to be recycled once the warranty runs out on them since no one will be able to afford the repair costs after everything fails on them. It’s literally a disposable machine.

Too many glossy screens which will look like crap when they're ful of fingerprints.
That's because the best touch screen systems use glass screens
NickLiang Glass screens can still be matte though thus preventing glare and fingerprints. Also I do not like that there are so many screens in general, matte or otherwise.

The dealership gave me "S" line version as a loaner for half a day while I had to take my A4 through the 20k maintenance The ride was very comfortable especially over the usual bumps I go through on my A4. The sound system was banging although I didn't mess with it at all. I wasn't very fond of the touch screen system since it takes your eyes off of the road, but I supposed I should've used the voice activation aspect of the car. I also didn't like the fake exhaust tips. Overall, it's still a very nice car to drive.

Technologically Audi is better than any other cars. Also, they are more reliable than most German cars if not every. And again it's cheaper considering the things you get with it.
55 tfsi is 0.1 seconds to 0-60mph fast than the 540i.
This review was one step above usual, complete and entertaining, so much so I bet this was done after a glass of wine. (or two...)

Brilliant review! - Mat would be one perfect part of a new Top Gear team if such ever was to be made.
That whacking price range reminds me of the E32 BMW 7 Series, where the pinnacle of the luxurious range (the 750iL Highline) was over twice the price of the base model (730i). The finest of its class included anything you could imagine for the wealthy, such as an integrated coolbox, walnut folding tables, double glazing windows and leather in every single corner, all of this in hand with a 300 PS V12 engine, taking you from 0 to 62mph (0-100kph) in just over 7 seconds. Pretty impressive for that time.

Matt @ Carwow, you do reaize that when you do "Raise" on the airsuspension it actuay yes jacks up the suspension as high as possible, but it also restricts the suspension movement to maintain the groundcearance. With just Comfort without raising the result would be much better (Daily driving A8L)

This A6 definitely looks better than a 5 Series or an E Class, but that Dash wobble is such a turn off...

I feel like the flex ruined the Stinger interior for you, but didn’t seem to bother you as much in the A6. (To me, it looked like the A6 dash was moving more easily.)
I remember when I was a kid Proton had a rear wheel steer and I really thought it would take off. But unfortunately it was buried until now.
Absolutely love the technology inside the car (the definition of the screens, etc), but I get a little... nervous wondering how well this stuff is going to hold up in, say, 3 years time. I mean, a 1999 car was more than passable in 2004. But is "cutting edge" 2018-19 going to cut it in, say, 2021?

Ridiculously expensive for a fully loaded one 80k that's A8 money at lower trim options. For something that will lose half of its value in 3 years plus that's a total rip off. One can get an E class fully loaded for over 70k dollars in the States. Why would I choose this over it? It is really insane, though it must be said very few people are going to buy this car fully loaded with all these options. To make it worse its build quality isn't the best as demonstrated in the video. For an 80k car it's beyond ridiculous

Samson Okoro hence the question: why would you buy an A8 if you can have an A6 fully loaded with the exact same options? But remember the £80K A6 has a V6 petrol engine, with a less powerful engine it would be less expensive
Edi Pires the A8 has so many other things not available on the A6 and it's the flagship at the end of the day. The A8 has some unique safety features, has the executive seating package with the Lcd remote control screen. The A8 at the end of day has bigger and more powerful engine options as well.
Samson Okoro still, many of those options aren’t standard so you wouldn’t have it anyway if you buy an A8 for the price of an A6 fully loaded
