Can straight girls please stop referring to their friends as "girlfriends". It's really confusing, and means I have to clarify a lot. And I hate the word partner, I know some people prefer it but I feel like it hides the gender of the person you are with, and sounds more business like.
The word partner sometimes hAs to be used as a gender neutral word for people who are dating someone that doesn't identify as the 2 binary genders and you cant say he or she for that so sometimes people have to say partner in a sentence when talking about the person they are dating.
