Age is difficult when you reach it nowadays however for some young us the new old. When i was young, time was slow, and as an sdult, itme is in such a hurry. @@frednitney5831 Hello Fred, I agree. I recognized hearing the voice from other stories, as in “The 39 th Man” ( about the “Lava volniks”, I think). I find voices very helpful and allows one to form a picture of the story’s character. After all, it is our imagination that wants to put a face to any voice we hear, and that voice was perfect for that character, I think. I bet if we all had to describe that character to a sketch artist, he would have ended up with a very similar drawing. I loved the way that character’s voice evoked our sense of a very older man who had been through a lot and our deep concern for him. Hope you are doing well ! 🙏🫠
