The universe gave me this song on a sleepless night just a week over losing a close friend... this song was such a mind f**k, but in the most cathartic way. I knew him just 3 years but he was the kind of person I expected to be there for a lifetime. His death was sudden and not long after we'd finally ended up in the same city. When I stumbled on this song it spoke to my feelings, but I reached the end as an abrupt stop. "It must be a glitch!", I thought. So I searched everywhere for a complete version. I want to hear the end. I got to the 3rd replay before I realized it was (seemingly) intended and a message I needed to hear. The pain in my heart is our story unfinished and the crushing loss of what could have been. I've been torturing myself with that like ghosts of potential screaming on repeat. I've been searching for a complete version, but I'll either never hear it or I've already heard it. It's a matter of perspective. If I fight to find an ending that doesn't exist then the limit of regret does not exist. But, if I accept the song as it is for its message of the warmth and love you get from a friend while they're here then I've heard it and it's beautiful even if it ends too soon. This song isn't about our friends. It IS our friends and I'm glad I got a chance to hear it.
