    This video is unconventional use of the looper! The next video will be more practical uses. Here's a link to the MC707 BOOT CAMP playlist! (I will be adding more episodes to it as I create them!) czcams.com/play/PLQvVnhG7o2yROeK4Muj4CGv3fTX5Z6iMV.html&si=d7U1N2qXBSnba3oA

    one other thing you might want know in prep for your sample video is how to load samples ffom the sample PROJECT POOL on to a pad. This was a head scratcher for me but I"m stubborn and dumb enough to waste a night trying to make this work. The quirk being that drum pads only want to load from the EXPORT folder and that there is no way to send a sample from the PROJECT POOL to the EXPORT folder. I think this all because the project pool feature, which is awesome 'was kindly shoe horned in via an update.
    anyway...
    HOW TO LOAD A SAMPLE FROM THE PROJECT POOL INTO A DRUM PAD:
    hold SHIFT + press desired DRUM PAD
    press ENTER
    cursor to INST EDIT
    cursor to the WAVE 1 tab
    change WMT1 GROUP TYPE to SAMP
    scroll down to WMT! WAVW NUMBER L
    you now have access to your project pool samples and you can audition the samples via the pad.
    TO LOAD TO A TONE TRACK
    select a TONE TRACK
    hold SHIFT + press SOUND
    use C1 knob to change OSC to PCM
    use C2 knob to change TYPE to SAMP
    the C3 knob now allows you to browse your samples from the project pool
    {this is sick because you can use all the zencore parameters and modulation on your own sounds)
    cheers!

      Hey so i loaded a sample in the drum kit , but it goes for 8 bars and will not sustain even if i turn up decay and release. Set end note to 80, set env mode to sustain

      @@RonCavagnaro ok- yeah. The trick is that, after you have made the setting changes I previously described, you need to continue to hold the desired drum pad while you are recording to the sequencer. So- record and hold the pad for the real time duration you want to hear it sound. Once you have recorded the pad to a loop, however long, during playback it will now sustain for a long as you have recorded it. Thr purpose of this trick method, is that when set up/ recorded like this the loop will stop as soon as you decide to stop play. IF you want it to ring out and don't care about it continueing to play after you have stopped play- leave the sample at NO- SUS and leave the TVA ENV TIME settings as they are default set. This can all be comfusing because there are several different windows with ADSR types of parameters, too. But the ones in the per pad INST EDIT tab window are the most definitive.

      @@RonCavagnarowhen you combine intermodulation between OSC layers (even user samples) mixed within/out of keyzones with independently sequencing the OSC you've hit magic add the 2x lfo designer (multiple destinations??) and your are practically in modular land.. I as would many others (Roland included) would love to see you do an in-depth eppesode of this ✌️😎

    Another great tutorial...per track is it 1 min loop max?

    • @RonCavagnaro
      @RonCavagnaro  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Looper can only hold around 1 minute total. I am assuming this is to accommodate time stretch for each looper track at same time. But i will cover drum and tone tracks which can be 12 minutes total , 1 min max per sample. It'll be in next video!

    I use drum pads with loops, if i remember right, there's not enough memory to fill up one column with 16 4 bar loops, which is so lame!

      I'll be exploring drum pads and sample memory next episode!

    • @iiaaiiaannaaiiaaii
      @iiaaiiaannaaiiaaii Před 5 měsíci +3

      We can sample an entire loop to a drum pad and play the loop back from a Drum track. This frees up the looper time up again. It's a workaround for sure but it means we can essentially have as many loops recorded as our SD card can remember. There's a couple little tricks to setting up the play back of loops from the drum pads properly and if you are interested I can walk you thru them.

      @@RonCavagnaro Oh hey Ron, I had meant to write that reply to Isaac. I'm pretty sure you already know how to do this. Just load the loop as a sample on a Drum track Pad. You basically just need to go into the instrument edit settings for each pad and turn up the TVA Decay times in order for a longer loop to not fade before it finishes playing. (You can mess with Attack, Sustain and release time, too. which can be cool) Anyway, once you sample your loop into a Drum Pad you can delete the orignal loop because you now have it in memory as a sample. I'm happy to email you the specific steps of the operation in order to do this, but since you know the 707 better than I do, you probably don't need me to.

      @@andrewwilson5721 if you don't want to Wait try this workaround. Shift+sel, then audio insert. Turn to audio in L or audio in R. If either of those work you can technically record select input. Choose mixdown for source. Then you can record stuff in , but it records only what you hear.
