Hi Jason, I'm wondering if you know if I make my call to action on an in stream ad to be a Subscribe button. And I use the link that will auto pop up my youtube page with a confirm subscription. Does this work on Mobile? Lets say the add gets 700 clicks but only 150 subscribers. Wanting to make sure I get the most out of it. Thanks in advance. I'll be continuing to google to see if I can find the answer.
You can have the link go to your channel but it's not going to automatically pull up that sub-button on mobile :(

Really appreciate this detailed step-by-step. I'm trying to grow a niche channel and had someone working on GoogleAds but they approached subject very differently then you have. Your approach of testing and tapping into audience of these big channels is pretty terrific. Of course, now I have to find big channels for my niche. . . which may or may not exist, hopefully I can find some!

Hey Jason - at 19:50 you say to remove/change part of the video. Why is that necessary? Why can't I just add the same video without any modifications? My videos are pretty tightly edited so it'd be tough to cut some stuff out
The main issue is not wanting to get slapped with a 'duplicate' content strike. As long as you keep the video unlisted, you should be okay... even something like adding an extra graphic or broll on top of what you have can help

You don't need to download any software to use Google Ads. Go to ads.google. com to get started and you should be able to see a interface similar to the one shown (there have been a few updates since this posted).

Can I combine Keywords with Affinity Audience and Topics with Placements? Or do I need to create separate campaigns for that? I do not understand that at all.
NO, please don't put all of those into the same campaign. You can test all of those - just create a campaign for each type.

Can I target the age and gender though? Our audience is 18-35 and majority male. It would be a waste of money to advertise to anyone above the age of 35 for us. You can combine age/gender with one of the type of audiences/topics/keywords correct ?

Question: Why would I only do 3 videos for each add group. I ask because I did make the 2 campaigns. The first campaigns I added 4 videos because the 3rd & 4th video were tied for the number of subscribers they brought me. Is that to just not spread the $2.50 too thin?
You want to keep it to 3 because you can't control how your budget is allocated across those ads. If you have more than 3 it's likely you won't get enough views across all of them to make a good decision as to which one works.
Since you already have confidence in the videos you are testing, it's okay to have all 4 and just see which one Google decides to run with.
Grate info! I’ve done this but I run with an issue. I’ve used 10 channels and half of them had generated views and impressions. Any reason what the other 5 didn’t generate any? They are big channels and I’m keeping the Max CPV high
The first step would be to create a campaign with just those 5 channels as targeting. If you're using Discovery ads and they aren't getting impressions that is a real tough one. I've had channels every once in a while not work, but 5? I'm sorry I can't tell you why those wouldn't be working :(

Thank you Jason! Great tips on how to lower the costs! One of your older videos suggested using red arrows "mobile click" top right hand corner and "Desktop click" bottom left hand corner as the calls to action. Do you still suggest that or has the format changed?
I stopped recommending that because CZcams changed where the calls to action where on the videos. For in-stream ads there is now a banner at the bottom of the video, so you can have the arrows point to the bottom left for Desktop, and bottom right for Mobile.
We are still working on an updated video for the exact placements.
For discovery ads (like this video) Cards and top of the description are still the place to tell people to click

The title, description, and tags isn't really an issue. It's just the content of the video itself. The point is you don't want to be hit with a duplicate content strike for uploading the exact same video twice.... Hope that helps and good luck with your CZcams ads 🔥

Use channels when trying to grow your own channels. Keywords are a pretty big hit or miss so I don't recommend them when just starting out

This video walked me through setting up an ad groups that target the audience of specific similar CZcams channels. But it did not say any thing about key words at the campaign level.
🙌 Happy to help! I don't recommend using Keywords with your first few campaigns. The main reason is you need a benchmark and a definitive answer as to what audiences respond to your ads.
Keywords are great, but there isn't much that be done to optimize those campaigns. It's nearly impossible to know which keywords are actually working. All the data gets lumped together.
After you have a campaign that works, go for it though!

What happens if I use keywords in an adgroup, and in the same adgroup select CZcams Channels as placements? Is that somehow connected, so that when someone searches for a keywords, and one of my placements matches with it, then the ad will be displayed so there's this type of hierarchy? And is this also how it works combining an audience with youtube channels?
You're going to have messy data and not know what's actually working. That's why it's so important to separate everything by ad group.
There's no advantage to having them in the same ad group as there is no 'hierarchy' or connection between the targeting types in this instance.
You can create custom audiences but I only recommend doing that AFTER you know what channels and/or keywords are working

You want 1000 impressions or 100 views before you start making changes. Ideally it would be 500 views, but sometimes given the budget that's too much to spend before making a decision

I would not use Keywords to start. You are more than welcome to do a campaign using keywords. Just group 7 or less keywords in your ad groups.
Why do you need to add 20 or 30 seconds to the 2nd video that is being used specifically for the campaign? Will CZcams not allow the same video to be uploaded twice?
Keeping the video unlisted will help with not getting hit with a duplicate content strike; that's the real key - after that 20 to 30 seconds should be plenty

Hey Jason, i was running a pretty good discovery ads for my CZcams videos to grow my channel, but suddenly from month ago, the campaign get zero views, zero, impression, and zero cost, is there any thing u know about it

Do you have a video on setting up conversion tracking for subscribers? I can't find anything on this. This video was amazing btw!
You'll need to go your column options in Google ads and add "earned subscribers". There isn't anything to setup. Google/CZcams will automatically track them for you; but you'll only get ranges of subs until a campaign crosses 100 or more subs.

Hi Jason! Thanks for this video. We're using your strategy to create an ad campaign for our channel and are noticing that at just past 24 hours in we have 0 Impressions on anything. We're promoting our video game channel and am wondering if we have to adjust our Maximum CPV from 5c to something higher to account for a more competitive market, or are we just not being patient enough and need to wait longer for results?
Assuming you are doing discovery ads that is strange. The first thing I'd do is try targeting some different channels (and bigger ones). If there are no impressions it's more likely the targeting than the budget. $0.05 should be enough for a new discovery ad campaign.

Hi Jason, I came across this video - very clear, though a bit fast - I had to go over a few times but that is ok. I have two questions: in two separate messages. (1 ) I understand why you have to create multiple ad groups so you can associate them with different placements. However, if I have the same set of placements for multiple videos that I want to promote, I have to create the same ad groups again and again for different videos that I want to promote. Is there a quicker way around this problem? Just like you have a copy and paste for the same ad being pasted in different ad groups?
1) Sadly there is not a quicker way around this. It's very time consuming to set up. I would suggest looking up 'Google Ads Editor' a desktop application for building ad campaigns. The copy-paste goes a lot faster with a tool like that but it takes a while to get the hang of.

does YT allocate the funds in the adsets like FB? spend where its getting the most engagement? and when uploading the unlisted video are you adding the title? or do that in the ad?
The budget isn't allocated the same as FB. It's not as much control across ad groups.
The unlisted video tends to have the same details as the first one. I do change the headline when creating multiple ads for testing

@@houseofgraceworship Hello:) It went very well in terms of getting views and driving traffic! As for those views generating likes and/or subscribers I don't belive it made much impact. However I am happy to drive traffic to my site in any way. It was a sucessful ad campaign in many ways, and I do belive there is a benefit in a small budget dedicated to ads on youtube. Is there a way you can setup conversion events based on watch time, for youtube ads?
No, there's no conversion based upon watch time
Love the video and learnt so much. Can you please advise how long is advisable to keep the advert running for until you swap it for a different video on your channel? Or is it ok to keep the same video running?
It's okay to keep the same video running as long as your numbers look good. I've had some run for years before switching

Hi, can a monetised CZcams channel use Google ads? …or shall i turn Off monetisation for that particular video? Thanks in advance!
You can run ads to a monetized video, but ads will not play when someone clicks your video as an ad.... I don't recommend doing this on your organic uploads though - go the reuploed unlisted route
